Philippines womens NT

maybe out of topic, but that 7"4 Zhang Ziyu of China literally has no competition so far. Absolutely obliterated the Japanese u18 with 44 points lol. Gotta work hard on that footwork and agility if she wants a shot at the WNBA though.

We need to have a better tactics to beat that 7'4 giant... But that is not easy, We have to upgrade height in every position... We have to naturalized more women and reside them for some couple of years to be a local... This is what a PRO League is a must for womens... SBP should have a league for womens basketball... If volleyball can have mens league even it's not crowded, Basketball should have too in womens, We are undisputed basketball nation... atleast semi PRO... We need 3 more Favour Onoh type of players...Then stay them for couple of years to be considered as local player

The level of our girls is on Group A imo

This is one thing that SBP has big advantage over BAP.. the latter don’t care on womens basketball program.. this one thumbs up for SBP…but SBP should have do some moves to make womens basketball to be appreciated even by casual fans… volleyball is lording over in terms of popularity of women sports here even basketball have more potential to be a medal contenders in Asian basketball… I hope SBP try to get some hosting of womens event likes of Fiba asia and FIBA WWC… it will elevate to attention and popularity of womens basketball in a long run…

The Samoans are tall, strong and also fast for their size. It's a good thing they don't shoot from outside well. The women's game is physical in the post. Even with Samoa's size advantage it wasn't easy for them to score in the paint.

Fajardo was the hero here and Villanueva. Reyes I believe was subbed out early. Canino as always was good with her fastbreak layups. She actually scored the first points for us.

Australia exposed Zhang Ziyu and China in their finals match up.. The giant is liability when she will play against faster and agile players… And their Chinese coach do nothing to have plays other than to low post play of Zhang…

It seems we can really compete in women's basketball. The physicality in the paint allows smaller players to neutralize taller players. Our players are so active at this level that even if they don't have a stellar 3FG they are successful with the high volume of attempts they generate. Of course this is just Div B. It remains to be seen if our style will be effective against Div A.
