There was a rumor/report years go that the reason why PBA teams opted for height restriction is because smaller imports are cheaper compared to tall, 7 foot imports.

its hard, PBA import is used to carry a team. same with hataks in inter-barangay. and then its normal you have diff imports with comms cup from gov cup.

I think that is a good idea. While most of these FSA aren't that skilled, I mean they don't come close to most world imports in terms of skills, I think having them as 2nd imports for PBA teams is going to elevate the level of competition in the PBA. Think of a Junmar Fajardo or a Japeth Aguilar having to contend against a 6-foot-10 Afro FSA who is athletic & strong. That 6-10 Afro FSA may not be as skilled as a Marcus Douthit or a Ricardo Ratliffe but I think pahihirapan naman nya si Junmar or si Japeth in the shaded lane & off the boards.
 
I also think it's easy to make rules/restrictions around them (ex. Must play at least x years in a PH college).

Problem is people will be crying foul, because they will remove a local's spot in the team. Kind of like why people are against them in college sports

The nature of how he got the injury (non-contact drive) suggest it may be a ruptured Patellar tendon like Oladipo, Lin and Roberson in the NBA. Prayers up for the guy, he is up for a long recovery.
 
coaching staff should've just managed the playing time of a player who just recovered from an ACL injury, it's just a no bearing game like nothing to gain or nothing to lose, the guy was starting to get his groove back and this freak incident happened in the last game of PBA on Tour and last few seconds of the third quarter, it seems the guy will be one of those talented players that will be wasted by injury, like Dylan Ababou and Art Dela Cruz, the guy has the potential to be a future national team player once he become eligible for exemption

Gray was deemed fully recovered from his torn left ACL knee. This time it was the right knee.

The first injury was also non-contact as he landed awkwardly with the left knee after a dunk. Now it was his right. Whether you played him sparingly last night or not, his right knee would have given way eventually either in the next practice or next tournament he plays for.

He’s a vertical jumper like that of Paul Alvarez or Jojo Lastimosa who loves to hop hard with his two feet to get elevation. And he’s got skinny legs as well.

biggest what ifs of the previous decade, Ababou was destined for greatness (scored 40 pts in the all star game and consistent +12ppg), injuries derailed and ended his career

“Jeremiah had a dislocated knee. The doctors were able to put the knee back in place and straighten it,” said the two-time grand slam coach, who took time off from his Gilas Pilipinas duty to watch the final game of the preseason.

Initially, the injury was suspected to be another ACL case for the 26-year-old Gray, who suffered the knee injury in 2021 following an awkward landing after a dunk while playing in the PBA 3x3 for TNT.

Gray, the No. 2 overall pick in last year’s draft, did surgery and rehab in the US before returning to the country and began playing for Ginebra in the Commissioner’s Cup.

Cone said the shooting guard is still being evaluated if surgery is necessary.

“They are now in the process of evaluating the ligaments surrounding the knee,” said the Ginebra mentor. “No decisions have been made yet about surgery.”

he was also a part of the first gilas pool, i was happy when ginebra traded for him but only to suffer multiple acl injuries, i remember that all star game when he scored 40 points and of those players who played well against the nba players during the lockout season

If Ange gets injured, they will not have a player tall enough to be a rim protector. Hence the additional of Evans

Yeah, most probably, Ange and Evans will take turns at the center spot.
 
The EASL champs Anyang team didnt ahve a shot blocker as big, while go for a exclusive five if you can go on have a versatile 4 and fully optimize angge
