PBA 48th season

It will be black-eye to the PBA if Converge bolts out. They are a growing and profitable company, they will be moving out purely for basketball reasons. It is really ironic that there have been several players and coaches that were concurrently government officials but you cannot seat on the team board if you are a government official. It seems to be a convenient rule just to exclude PIneda. SMC and MVP are afraid of him. But Converge is correct a PBA with an SMC MVP duopoly is boring.

The board better realize that Pineda can outspend MPIC and SMC, MVP, Vargas, Ang, long Hair. No entity in the country, be it in politics or sports, would want to be on the bad side of Delta

I hope Delta give Chua, Vargas, and Panlilio the "Goodfellas" treatment.

Pba board dont know how low and evil Delta can go, the pinedas can destroy the league in every imaginable way, there’s a reason why the kakampinks and team unity are mum regarding this family

Hopefully, Delta has SBP dreams. haha With that I am hoping the cure won't be worse than the disease.

Hope James laput get some more minutes per game next conference

I just do not get this PBA on Tour set up. Parang redundant lang ang venues.

I hope they bring back those Saturday legit PBA on Tour games especially the real provinces like Cebu CDO and the like.

I think it ended during Com. Chito Narvasa's time.

With the new rules to be implemented immediately for Fil-foreign players regarding of age to be eligible in the coming PBA Draft and beyond. So the likes of 6’4 Scuba Holt of St. Marys, 6’6 DJ Fenner of University of Nevada , 6’5 Caerlan Tiongson of Biola University, 6’5 Lawrence Domingo of Eastern New Mexico University, Manila born(?)6’7 Niels Kjer of Sarah Lawrence College, 6’1 Ethan Alvano of Eastern Michigan, 6’1 Mikh Mckinney of Sacramento States and 6’0 Jason Brickman of Long Island University are already eligible to play but there are 2 big questions out there.
  1. Do they already completed their respective PH Passport?
  2. Are they(still)interested to play in the PBA considering they still had an existing contracts from their respective pro clubs?

I’ve heard and read so many things about coach Phil Handy, not only about his passion for being a real deal drillmaster but also his close relationship with some of the high profile players from our generation especially on the late great Kobe Bryant.
I tend not to believe all the anecdotes that I’ve read because the possibility that it may somehow be just a pabida hype or exaggerated on how the late black mamba conducted himself during team practice like being one of the early bird and the last soul in the gym, the(almost) everyday scuffle to some of his former teammates whom he thinks are just passing by or had a “Just Another Day in the Office” type of mindset. He is so misunderstood by his former teammates that he is branded as a bully and a nitpickers but Coach Phil just speak out the real score. Same argument with LBJ who are regulary criticized why such a lethargic performance during the Regular Season but a different animal come playoff time.

I had a gut feeling that coach Phil Handy may eventually be a regular fixture moving forward in Philippine basketball starting with that pre-season workout with Converge and schools sponsored by the Lao’s, combining with CEO Dennis Uy and Delta’s financial pockets. Truly I won’t be surprise if those teams pullout some surprises here and there come PBA, UAAP and NCAA tournaments because if that happens certainly that would be a welcome development as far as Philippine basketball are concern.

We all know the caliber of a Phil Handy as far as player(s) development are concern and he ain’t cheap. But with the combination of the Lao’s, Uy’s and the Delta’s it’s just a peanut.

Indeed, those 3 high profile individuals knows there basketball pretty well and some people are buzzing that it is a just a tip of the iceberg.

height limit casualty, lol, did enjoy watching Rakocevic last year for Mags though and could have been a good naturalized player option if FIBA will allow him

I'm enlivened on the 2023 pba draft there's a fair amount of big men..

PBA on the road games today held at the UST QPav, In fairness the QPav looks good on TV, PBA should hold elimination games on smaller venues

William Navarro signs 2-year extension with Northport. He is currently recovering from a full ACL tear last December

Woah James Laput has really improved in the PBA. Can't believe a guy who could barely score in the UAAP can be a double double guy now.

I think he disclosed in an interview / article pre draft that he had to fast track his adjustment with Lasalle as they arrived 2 weeks before the UAAP season. Plus he had an undisclosed freak accident at practice during the 2nd round of the UAAP.

He did well in the Chooks to Go 3x3 though after the season.
