Lebanese League -Official thread- News and Updates

Kevin Jolley: "Lebanese league is better than all of the leagues Ive played in" - Jun 25, 2009 (by Mohamed Ezzedine)

Solid defender and rebounder, ex-Antonin Baabda (2006/2007) and Champville (2007/2008), Kevin Jolley chooses Eurobasket to talks about his experiences in the Cedar land.
1- You played in Germany, in Portugal and for Ittihad Aleppo, so tell me your opinion of the Lebanese league? What are the difference between the Lebanese league and the German or the basketball league in Portugal?
This league is better than all of the leagues Ive played in. The players are much bigger, stronger and more skilled. The game in Lebanon is more physical than in Europe.
2- As we know, every players dream is to play in the NBA. It is your dream too? And do you have any regrets?
Nope, I never really had the NBA dream, I was about to stop playing basketball all together just before I came over to Lebanon.
3- Does Lebanon save your career?
It didnt save my career; it just put me into a situation where I had the love to play the game again.
4- What is your long term career plans? Maybe a coaching career?
I want to play basket-ball as long as my body allows me to, yea then I plan on coachingI think I will make a good coach someday.
5- What did you hear about Lebanon before to came here?
I really didnt hear too much before I came here, I just got a call from my agent and said he had a team for me and I came.
6- How did you see Lebanon as a country in general? What are the most things you liked here?
I like it here, it kind of feels like home for me there are a lot of the same things as the United States of America. So I never got home sick.
7- Did you learn how to speak Arabic through the month you spent in Lebanon?
No, not really, but I know some words (he laugh).
8- Back to the game, describe to us your experience with Antonin Baabda and Champville
I had a good experience with them, I had a good coach and good teammates, they made a lot easier to focus on basketball. Oh yeah the fans were great!!!
Thank you Kevin jolley for this excellent interview, good luck for the rest of your carrier.

Big time surprises are about to be revealed for Riyadi soon concerning Lebanese and foreigners and a big surprise for the fans with a player that is going to leave ( other than Omar nor Fadi or Ismail, untill now Fadi is not leaving)

I'm pretty sure that Riyadi will tey and sign jackson Vroman, now that he has received Lebanese citizenship. There is now way that Riyadi will not at least try even though I'm pretty sure that a lot of teams in Iran are throwing big money at him. jackson is a very good player and I hope that he does well with the national team this summer. If I was Riyadi I would try and sign him. I wonder which Lebanese team will try and sign Omar Krayem. Hes a very good ball handler and he can attack the basket and shoot. I played with him 2 summers ago in summer league when he was transfering to Cal Baptist. I hope he also makes the national team and does well.

hey buddy even if riyadi signs vromen he won't be able to play as a lebanese citizen not after what happened with vogel they won't allow such a mistake ever again ... so vromen won't be able to play as a lebanese in the league :)

Oh Ok. Thak you for the information, I did not know that. I still will not be suprised if they tried to sign him even as their foreigner. What was the big problem with Vogel?

Simple. Riyadi was unbeatable:D

yea well it's not only because of Vogel they had a great the team, the best in Asia but they were not participating in the Asian Championship till last two years when they made some bad choices of players for the tournament and had many injuries. Anyway this year they are preparing for some big surprises and they will try to take as much players as possible to the next Championship I think this year if the admins get what they are trying to the team would be a better competitor for the Championship it they might get unbeatable in Asia not just Lebanon ;)
