Lebanese FLB League-Season 2012-2013

  • Thread starter Thread starter gazara2
  • Start date Start date
Maybe Reamily ,Specially Amchit Signed him as a Role Player ,All the Teams in Lebanon don't sign imports to lead their teams or to put their teams on their shoulders ,in Amchit For Example they have Bagaric (who's injured and replaced by Hill) he's a role player ,Very good on defense ,Average on Off. While they have a lot of Offensive Weapons Like Sabah Khoury the 3 Pt Killer ,Ghaleb Rida a Big Scorer ,Andre Emmett A Leader and the scorer of the League ,Matt Freijie !

LBL 2013: SAGESSE CONSOLIDATE ITS 1ST PLACE

Sagesse have won an important away game today in Champville, strengthening its top place in the ranking, before its next crucial game away at Riyadi.
A full crowd was present in Champville court, mostly home fans who are used to enjoy wins of their favorite team, but the game was delayed twice, one for the presence of more than 200 Sagesse fans, exceeding the allowed 40, and the other for a failure of one of the 24 seconds clock. Finally, after 30 minutes of delay, the game took off to a Sagesse early lead that continued till half time (39-29). Simms and Harper were doing their work for the Greens whereas all was going wrong for the locals, till Terry and Khatib decided to step up. The American forward scored 20 of his 20 points in the second half, tying the score several times but with each time a response from Harper and Simms, and a good defensive game by Julian Khazouh.
Finally, Sagesse finished strong with a 75-69 victory that will boost the team for its coming games. Champville suffered its second home defeat of the season.

What a Big Game BTW Champville and Sagesse in all terms ,at First with a Full House in Champville Dik El Mehde Court ,with a Great game with Huge level by both Teams ,Congrats to My Team Sagesse !!! what a big performance from Coach Fouad Abou Chakra and Sagesse players specially The Trio Harper Sims and Khazzouh !!

Didn't Sagesse and Riyadi already play home and away in the regular season? why are they playing against each other again? :s

It's Champville who have their next game against Riyadi 1 week from now (Saturday 2nd of March) and not Sagesse.

Sagesse's next game is vs. Anibal on Wednesday.

Sagesse still have 2 Games but not that big Task ,1 Against Anibal Zahle (10Th the last position in the League) and another one against Amchit who considered to be a big Team but Amchit these days are in big Problems with injuries ,a new Coach .... so i don't find that big Task for Sagesse specially they will play against Amchit at Home in Ghazir in front of their Huge fans ,and for sure they will have a Revenge after they lost against Amchit in the First leg
While Riyadi will have hard games ,1 Against Mouttahed on friday in Manara ,another against Champville (Who they lost against them in the First leg in Champville Home Court) and one against Byblos the hardest Team in the league and specially in Jbeil at their Home ,This team is really difficult when they play at home ,they won over Champville there ,Over Mouttahed There ,went after 2 O.T against Sagesse Big Team at their Home !
so I Think Sagesse Has Saved their First Place and they will lead the league at the First Position !

ok thanks!
and after that it will be a best of 5 series between
(winner of 1st vs 8th) vs (winner of 4th vs 5th)
(winner of 2nd vs 7th) vs (winner of 3rd vs 6th)
right?

Sorry I haven't followed lebanese basketball for the last couple of years :P
but with the introduction of live streaming on LBC website I've been catching up :P

Same here :p This year i'm watching much more games due to the live online streaming by LBC.

After this (regular season) the top 8 teams play both home and away games... The top 2 teams automatically qualify to the final 4 while the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th teams play against each other in a way that 3rd plays 6th and 4th plays 5th while the top teams who qualified will just wait without playing any games.
Winner of 4th vs 5th plays vs. 1st and winner of 3rd vs 6th plays vs. 2nd.

Weird, crappy and complicated format and there quite a few teams that are complaining about this new adjustment... Anyways let's wait and see what happens.

Yea Khalid Great Game by Sagesse Yesterday ,they had a big game ,very good level ,Khazzouh presence is so positive For Sagesse ,he's so important for the team and both Duo Harper-Sims are Great ,Harper demonstrate that he's a big scorer and he's a money time player ,while Sims is a versatile player who can't miss from midrange ,Very good in inside Game ,can steal a lot of Rebounds like he did yesterday then scoring in the paint not to miss his skills ! i Like this player ,for me he's better than Terry in Diff. Aspects :
1-Better on Deffence ,hustle and fight on the ball and play from his heart
2-Very Explosive ,catch a lot of Rebounds and he's more efficient for the team and don't demand a lot the ball ,Very classic player and don't make a lot of T.O
3-Good scorer ,and specially from inside ,Sims have a great inside game ,can penetrate ,playing on the post ,Midrange the best place for Him :p ,not to miss his speed and his skills of penetration and scoring
4-You can notice yesterday Terry's Points were almost difficult ,i don't think he can repeat these shots ! in Ghazir or anywhere else he can't do this ,Terry yesterday was his night he was shooting like Hell ! not missing even the hardest shots ,he was so confident but always when he was scoring ,Sims was playing on him on the post and scoring over his Head ,he's so bad on the Defensive side ,doing a lot of T.O ,he did nothing yesterday in the inside game of champville (Penetrating ,playing inside ,on the post ,Catching Off. Rebs NOTHING) While Sims was more Efficient and Surpassed Terry yesterday not to miss that Sims was more like a money time player yesterday ,he was scoring in Difficult times and give a lead for his Team
Sims is a better as a Team player while Terry he was playing at his own yesterday without these Superman Shots he would finished his game with less than 10 pts i am sure
not to miss Sagesse Big Defense yesterday with Khazzouh Presence who almost killed Nikoloz on Deff.
Khalid i would like to know your Opinion about :
1-Yesterdays Game
2-Sagesse Team in General
3-Sagesse with the Presence of Khazzouh
4-Sagesse System who's being good and yesterday FAC Prooved that how Sagesse were Great on both Deff. Side and Off. Side and Killed Champville System
5-Who do you prefer Terry or Sims and who's better

Thank u Man and sorry for these questions but i love your analysis

Thanks for the kind words bro :)
Regarding the game yesterday it was a very entertaining game and with the big comeback of Champville in the second made it more exciting and either team could have won.
Sagesse have a very good team this year which was a huge upgrade from last year as they got top players from other teams to join them and managed to get top notch foreigners as well as Julian who is a huge addition to the team.
Sagesse with Khazzouh in their lineup is a totally different team... Remember that Sagesse have not lost any game yet in which Khazzouh was playing in... What Khazzouh adds to the team may not show in terms of scoring but rather it is the defense he plays while on court and completely limiting the player he is defending which is so impressive. Nicholoz is a very high level player yet Khazzouh made it extremely difficult for him to do anything and be productive on court.
In yesterday's game it was Julian and Sims who were the best players for Sagesse in addition to Harper who is a great scorer but sometimes plays by himself and not being a team player.
Everyone has been asking who is better Terry or Sims? Both are amazing players and have greatly helped their teams reach where they are now...
Before yesterday's game I was saying that I prefer to have Terry because he is a better FT shooter and has more experience than Sims since he is 4 years older than him and has played in better leagues throughout his career. But yesterday Terry missed 2 crucial FT's which we can say cost Champville the match even though it was Terry who was scoring deadly 3's in the 3rd and 4th quarter which helped his team make a comeback... By the way I don't agree with anyone saying that those 3's that Terry scored were lucky and that Terry wouldn't be able to score such type of shots again. Terry has always been a clutch 3 point shooter ever since his days in the NCAA with North Carolina and even though he was playing by himself I don't blame him since Nikoloz wasn't being effective and the only other player from Chamapville who was scoring and picking up the slack was Fadi El Khatib.
Sims was very impressive last night and since he's still 25 years old I think we would be a great investment for any team as he still might have not reached his best level yet and could still improve which is the case with Terry.

Thank u Khalid ! Hope Khazzouh will play for Our NT ,we would have the Best NT in all our history ...but We don't need Terry maybe i am a Sagesse Fan from Also Sagesse Fan base Ashrafieh :p that's why i hate Terry and don't like His game but for sure he's a good player and one of the best Imports this year ,we need a PF like Haislip this Style ,a tall PF with good scoring abilities and good Defensive abilities

Here's some Highlights from Yesterday's Game:

LBL Season 2012/2013 - #Week 16:

Sunday February 24:

Al Riyadi (Beirut) v/s Mouttahed (Tripoli) 4h00PM (Saeb Salam - Manara) [Live on LBCI, LDC & Livestreaming]

khalid , like u said Sagesse with Khazzouh in their lineup is a totally different team ( without ) they have a huge problem under the basketball , that's exactly the same problem for our national team ( NT with a naturalized player = sagesse without julian kh) . that's why i hope that the federation will do everything to convince julian to play for our NT.

Same here :p This year i'm watching much more games due to the live online streaming by LBC.

I agree, it's a bit messed up. But thanks for the info :P
