Greg Slaughter...

For all the flak that manu_bol has gotten in this forum ("heart" issue, GS, etc), I still find him one of the better members here. It just so happened that he let himself get carried away (How the hell are you supposed to believe something that Quinito Henson wrote, without a single quotation from the player himself?) and things just blew up in his face.

Also, maybe he was taken aback by the fact that Greg will not be able to play for Ateneo in 2011 because the FIBA-Asia tournament runs smack in the middle of the UAAP's more crucial stages.
 
you guyz know what, i went to this thread immediately as soon as i learn about this news..so what is the real score here?..

one article i read from teampilipinas.info said that mr. mvp himself announces it..so what is the true story here?:confused:
 
i just wish that if ever greg indeed will transfer to manila is because he wants to focus more with gilas and his studies. no more, no less.

I've been away for a long time... I'm wondering why they're making a headliner out of Greg Slaughter...seems like basketball has gone too boring guys like Quinito Henson wants to add his usual "tsismis" stuffs...

well its because Greg is not another E J Fiehl as others had projected and is now steadily improving his game. And actually he has not reached his full potential yet.
 
how does he feels(Ej Feihl) if he reads all the not so good comments about him?

from Pex to Interbasket, i always see comparing GS to EJ Feihl which is not good.



give the guy a break, well EJ served the country during his time, although the situation is different back then...

Well I know EJ and he knows he could have been better but its just that father time had already caught-up to him before his full potential could be realized. As of now he's enjoying retired life and has a layed-back life in Australia and he's jetsetting back and forth Perth-Manila-Perth. He just became a fan of KAPISANAN NG MGA MANGINGINOM SA PILIPINAS at Facebook hahaha It took sometime but He learned not to be too sensitive to all those criticisms as you cannot please everybody.

ah ok. i got confused becoz his last posts were actually light (gs as accountant joke). i didn't see the sarcasm.

anyways, greg slaughter in the ateneo? no offense to our cebuano friends, but an ateneo diploma is obviously better than a u.v. one. sorry but that is reality. let's just hope for the best. for everyone. greg. cebu basketball. and ofcourse, smart gilas. :)
 
When there's smoke....:) Don't blame the messenger (Quinito) guys. He is just doing his job and it's his livelihood to report facts, rumors or anything in between.

Do you honestly think Slaughter will say no to the godfather of SMART Gilas who has already announced that he will serve the required one year residency? Thadz already admitted that there are some quarters presumably from Ateneo and SMART Gilar who are moving mountains just to convince Slaughter to don the Ateneo jersey. Aren't these enough proof that there are unscrupulous persons who are using their influence or position to create an imbalance in collegiate basketball? Let's call a spade a spade

Oh, c'mon. We all know that Quinito's got a penchant for "reporting" stuff without getting the other party's opinion. How come he does a piece on Greg Slaughter without a single quotation from the man himself?

I guess what leaves a not-so-good-taste in the mouth is the fact that MVP is very much connected to Ateneo, so there should be some sort of delicadeza involved. If he will choose to go to another school, I'm not sure if this is going to raise too much eyebrows...

In any case, I await further developments on this matter.

Ateneo is almost assured of the championship if Greg indeed joins the team.

BTW, is Quinito Henson a La Salle alumnus?

If Greg joins another school say La Salle or FEU, will they allow Greg to join and practice with Gilas if it is in conflict with their schedules? Here the MVP influence comes into play.

In my opinion, Greg should not at all practice with Ateneo. He should focus on Gilas and Gilas only. I hope he at least keeps that promise of concentrating only on Gilas.
