On the other hand my greek friends... DOES ANYBODY WANT PAPADOPOULOS FOR FREE???? OH! I FORGOT PELEKANOS as well...

You can keep papadopoulos, but i would be interested in getting pelekanos as a defense specialist for limited minutes, that holds a greek passport...thank you! :D
We' ll keep in touch for transfer details! :p

Seriously now, is Real gonna release these two guys? got any info?

I would really bet for that...
Lazaros oportunities are gone... at the begining of the season ther were many excuses going on (adaptation, schemes, bla bla...) but game after game the real madrid fans were getting tired of him (he is not aas tough as he seems and doesn´t attack at all) even whisteling...

Mind that this guy was the "Big bet" for Real Madrid to win "his" F4 and since thay didnt make it to F4 i think they´ll be glad to avoid his salary and try it with anothe 5...
Pelekanos is not bad defender (not that good) and he wasn´t lucky at all on attack... He is for sure out next year...

RUDY FERNANDEZ RULES!!!!!!

It seems Real hired a bad bookie! :p

Pelekanos is an excellent man to man defender and he is a useful tool to have in your rotation, especially for a greek team that can take use of his passport, but he lacks offensive talent he wasn't unlucky on attack :D

I agree 100% with you about these two players. They are both overhyped by Greek media. Papadopoulos has 1 good move, that hook. On the last Eurobasket tournament, we had no offence around him at the FT line, turned half way and attempted a hook!!! :D

Pelekanos is a nice player for a medium to low level team, but that's it. He can play descent defense (but not great) and take some part of the scoring. But nothing more. Nice player for Granada let's say.

Batista

Batista

KWSN-Men, I´m not even sure that Pelekanos is OK for Granada!!!:p

One question... Does anybody know the situation of Esteban Batista? I really like that player... Does he have a long contract? Is he getting lots of money?

ESTEBAN COME TO JOVENTUD BADALONA!!! (ULEB´s08 WINNERS)

Batista have a contract for 2 more years at Maccabi.

Papadopoulos can be effective only when he is the focal point of the offense and has playmaker who will get him the ball on the low block. Other than that, he is slow-footed guy, struggling to defend pick and roll and rebounding in traffic. I like Pelekanos to an extent, remember that he took a huge step this past season going from mid-level Greek team to european powerhouse. I believe with some seasoning he will prove himself as a fine role player for upper tier teams, he is already more than good enough for Granada. Marko Tomas who struggled similarly at Madrid is putting up very good numbers at Fuenlabrada for example.

I hope Barca will sign Jonas Maciulis. This "animal" gives them the real PASSION on court.

I think Tomas was pointing a bit higher last season... There was even people not agree with his trnsfer to Fuenlabrada but with Pelekanos... He didn´t have any noticeable match in the whole season...
I don´t see this guy playing many years in Spain...

well, if Samo Udrih is ok for Granada... than I am not really sure why Pelekanos shouldn't be...

it's just a matter of a role in the team. Haven't seen all that much footage from Pelekanos, but ussualy those bench warming role players are quite decent at some lower level teams. I don't doubt much Baždarić would be playing much more in Real either and yet he is doing just ok...

as far as Papadopoulos, yes he was overhyped for a moment, but he is getting undervalued right now. Greeks seem to be very enthusiastic in a short period and than become very critical in another (no harm meant here ;)). He'll do just fine when switching the enviroment maybee going to a team one level lower than Real- just as Lorbek did with changing Malaga for Rome, where he is putting up some decent performances.

Hey don´t understimate Samo udrich... last season was more than decent and so the beginnig of this one... I prefer Udrich (no doubt at all...) better than Pelekanos

well I am glad Beno's brother is doing decent there, but I was trying to say that Pelekanos might do just as fine in that role as well. Afterall Samo Udrih was barely a bench player in Olimpija before his explosion in Hapoel Tel Aviv. I wish him all the best possible and didn't intend to underestimate him, but don't exactly consider him some extra player that would be supreme to Pelekanos, in my opinion it's a matter of players on a relatively simmilar level (if I had to choose, I'd say Pelekanos is better though) playing different roles in two not equaly good teams. ;)

OK, Deal... you keep Pelekanos and I´ll keep Udrich...

I´ve got your point... sometimes it´s not only the player but the circumstances behind (team ambient, schemes, the city, your family happy there...) and I agree that are more or less same level but if I had to choose between Udrich points and Pelekanos defense I´d go for the points...

You can add Vonteego Cummings.Maccabi told him and his agant that they won't use the option that they got on him for next season.

I didn't see it in the forum but Costas Tsartsaris signed a new 3 year contract about a month ago for 3 mil €.

If really,he isn,t ready for NBA. Too early. I think if he spends one more year in europe,it would be properly for him.
I also think it is too early for him... He should get more experience in Euroleague and the jump into NBA

Rudy Fernandez has an offer from Portland from the begining of this season but since Joventud Badalona won the ULEB Cup and will play Euroleague next year he is thinking on staying here to grow up as player and then show the wolrd his quality... I think this should be the way of thinking of Gallinari... he could learn a bit more in EL next season... (I´d prefer to enjoy him in Europe :)
