Euroleague quarter-final playoffs - game 3

  • Thread starter Thread starter De Ridder2
  • Start date Start date
TAU-Partizan 40-60
I'll dare 2 predict a surprise too. Partizan seemed 2 win in a convincing way while TAU doesn't look so convincing as last season. We can have an upset here.
CSKA-Olympiacos 50-50
We did it last week, why not once more? It's only one game with CSKA having all the pressure on them. CSKA is at the end of an era while Olympiacos is in the beginning of one. It could b the last big season of a great team(CSKA) or the first success of a new powerhouse(Olympiacos). Home court may matter, but it may not. After all, both teams have already won on the road.
Maccabi-Barcelona 70-30
"Nobody messes with Maccabi in the Yad" and Barcelona is not exactly the team one could trust 4 a big match. They needed Basile 2 score 34 in order 2 win at home and who can assure that somebody can repeat such a performance? I suppose Barca will fight, but I guess their fight will not b enough.

CSKA- Oly is at 18.15, Tau - Partizan at 20.30 and Maccabi-Barcelona the next day... the fact I'll be able to watch all three games without switching from one to another just made my day
The fact that I am not able to watch any of the games just destroyed mine.. :D

I 'm surprised at Vassilopoulos and the talk involving this player, being the leader of Oly, the rumour that Pao is ready to pay big money for him etc... OK, he has energy, he plays good defense, and he 's obviously a very gifted athlete. But, I mean come on, the guy does not have the fundamentals of basketball. He dribbles worse than Bouroussis, and his shot is technically awful ...

He reminds me of Vrankovic dribbling the ball, or generally some people who don't really ever play basketball ..

He really has to work on his fundamentals, it's not decathlon, it's basketball.. Even his pass, his drive, shot selection etc, very very average. ..

And please, don't accuse me of being a Pao fan or anything like that, I 'm just watching the game, and I 've thought these things for Vassilopoulos over many games in the past..

CSKA plays terrific defence.I cant see OLY win this.
in the half
CSKA - OLY 41 -29

Indeed, but it has been a shootout since then. CSKA shouldn't do that. Even though Siska and Smodis are showing wonderful stuff from beyond the arc.

Edit: Damn, Siskauskas ...

man i just hate 3pointers!
6/6 for cska in the 3rd quarter...:(

Well, congrats to cska they are clearly the best team, both in this series and in europe.
I can't see any chances for oly with that kind of shooting from cska even if oly plays great in the last quarter.

Hey i have a question.
On the euroleague site it says in the TV broadcast part:
Croatia: SportKlub (Delayed, 8:30 PM CET)

What does the delayed mean, that it will start latter? if so when?

And OMG Siska is playing lights out, he is just... OMG

Easy win to CSKA, an expected one according to to my opinion.

Despite few minutes in the 3rd quarter, when Oly cut the deficit to 7 points, it was no question about the winner.

Siskauskas is simply incredible.Best player in Europe.

Relax. Just because he's scoring some free three pointers, he is the best player in Europe. I agree that he's the best SF in Europe, but not overall the best player.

Congrats to CSKA. I cannot find any other team capable to stop them.

CSKA dominated and Siskauskas was great, still wondering, shouldn't 3point line be further, it is too damn easy to hit all those shots. Would like to see Siskauskas hitting treys against Bowen from 7meter...:D

what a pleasure to watch CSKA, they are entering F4 as a main favourites.
It's so nice to just worry about Tau's qualification to the F4. With such a dominant CSKA, the Baskonian squad will be the team with the least chances to make the final game in Madrid :(

Oh lord.. The only day I am not watching the games and Alexey Shved scored in a Euroleague top-8 game :D

even if i hate myself of saying that:D CSKA is an amazing team. For me the grand favorite for the F4.If they loose this one with so many good teams out and with this kind of performance like today they should be the all time loosers of the european basketball history. But i am sure now they will win it.
congratulations to them.They played wonderful

3 pointers is not the only, and not the best thing Siskauskas can do.

A clinic on both ends of the floor by CSKA. That's the kind of stuff you'll only see in Europe. Siskauskas with a wonderful game. Smodis ice-cool, as was Papaloukas. Langdon with exceptional defense against Greer, but then again, apart from the period after the break, they all defended well.

Congrats to Giannakis for turning Oly around. They'll be back stronger than in a long time in the next Euroleague season I believe.
