Real Madrid, considering an alternative for Qyntel Woods, is interested in Viktor Sanikidze, from Virtus Bologna. Messina was scouting the Georgian player in the Italian city.

it's very funny, after sanikidze being the Estudiantes "mascot" few years ago :D

Fischer, Nikola and an Israeli at the Center spot in Maccabi sounds like a dream.

Can't say Saras' is my fav. We should still remember Maccabi has the 5 foreign players limit, I'm not that sure Saras sits well with that.

Can you tell me what will be with Lasme?
He will stay in MTA or...?

6, not 5. The rules remain the same as this season. Saras is supposed to replace Wisniewski, who's departure is almost certain.

Yeah, I knew that. My bad.

Anyway, I'd be more satisfied with 3 big-men and 3 back line players.
Saras, Perkins, Chuck and Alan (or their replacements?) will force Maccabi to have only 2 foreign big-men, which we've already seen that aren't enough. I surely prefer Niko, at that case, better than Saras.

Rafa Martínez will play for Regal Barcelona for the next two seasons, plus a team option for a third year. The deal with the player and his club, Power Electronic Valencia, is done

i deeply hope lasme wisi green pnini will be far from mac as soon as possibile. we need stronger players. just fischer perkins and maybe anderson can stay

Not only saras. According to "Israel Today", Vujcic and Halperin will come back, too.

niko and saras aren t player anymore. they are "ex". we will thanks them forever but actually they can't play at this level. to add them is a fake by mizrahi. in this way he will not spend much and give mac fans names who remember the golden age, but reality actually is different . they are not players right for this level.
halperin , i'd be happy he will come back. he is still a great player.
is very very incredible to see that mac fans would not see how this eventual addings are just to calm them . to add names is different than addings good players

You still don't get it. According to Israeli League rules, two Israelis must be on court at the same time. Plus, there is the identification factor with having Israeli players on the roster that do get playing time. I don't want to quarrell about Lasme anymore as you simply refuse to see how he is changing the opposing team's offensive game. Wiz is probably about to leave, so there is nothing to discuss either. But whom do you want to retain as Israeli players, if you want Green (one of two best Israeli centers) and Pnini (still a young and developing player, one of the top Israeli players available at the moment) out? Sharp is going to retire and doesn't play anymore. Limonad and Bluthenthal? Isn't it a bit too much to have just them on the team being forced to play 40 minutes each game? Getting Halperin back won't help matters either as Maccabi has to have six Israelis on the roster, 4-5 of which are really going to play, at least domestically and some of them in Europe.

Yes, Green is not a bench player. He is a starter for weaker teams and he can contribute only when being a starter with trust and playing minutes. Whom do you want to get instead of him? Rothbart? Kadir?
Pnini is not going anywhere. He is a very valuable part of this team, doing a great job domestically and being a good player for the EL squad, when not being forced to play out of position. MTA won't let him go and they are right by doing that. The only better Israeli SF right now is Omri Casspi and he is unavailable.

Pnini? What has he done wrong?
He's young and talented and should be a good backup SF.
Not less and not more than that.

LOL
he isn't even young, and he isn't even good for backup. He has no quality, and it should be better for maccabi to release him.The same is with green.

Of course, both of them are players at this level. It's just that you can't make them big minute starters anymore, if trying to go deep in the competition. Vujcic would be a very valuable part of the team due to his unique combination of size, skills and IQ. That is what Maccabi lacked on offense this season. Fischer has no ball handling skills and was afraid to pass the ball (instead he preferred to virtually push the ball into the hands of his teammate), while Lasme cannot post up and doesn't see the court as a center with good passing skills. Paired with good players who are quick and understand how to move, he would give MTA a lot. Saras on the other hand must be a crowd favourite but not the best option. Maccabi has to go with a younger and hungrier player. Halperin is a very intelligent player with no balls. He has to get help from another guard who has no fear. Perkins is good for this but Perkins and Halperin are not enough, especially considering that we don't know the situation with Anderson yet. Eidson has been behaving in the best pattern of Halperin this season, shifting responsibility all the time.

Mizrahi "not spend much". What are you talking about? Vujcic and Jasikevicius would most probably cost more than any other two newcomers. It isn't about not wanting to spend, it's about what is a good investment. And here, both ex-Maccabists are debatable.

goga, is important to understand what are we talking about. i m not talking about israeli league roster, but about el roster. i'm juts saying players like green pnini wisi lasme and even anderson and eidson aren t player good for maccabi level and abitious in el and i guess even the partizan's disaster didn't change your opinions about our roster. said that ,the fact u must have numbers of israeli players is surely a right rule to grew up homr talents, but on the el courts u must have better players than them. they could stay on bench watching the game but not more. we need at least 5 new players. israeli or not,we surely need better players than lasme wisi anderson even eidson who was very bad this year, and green. as gershon said:next year with this roster we cant be again in f8 because this year we were therenot becuase one of 8 best teams but because of incredible situations

LOL

I understand it's hard for you to believe, but Israel is not a basketball "factory", as Serbia. Those are the best players we have. What do you want us to do? BTW, Pnini is not that bad, certainly not worse than many Partizan local players. And Green was very effective against Maric. :p

first of all, in case niko and saras will come back i bet they will earn much much less than last contracts they have. second:the fact thery are not anymor important players is somethinf easy to get if theyr actual teams , great teams, wanna cut them. third:is very curious your point. u wrote they are good for this level but they shouldnt play long minutes!! goga we need starting five players with at least 25-30 minutes power to play! we don't need players by 10 minutes! in this case u wll have other "lasmelevel"players in court for the rest of the time and in this case those adds would be not enough to have a better maccabi.
i think our different point of views depend on what we conisder maccabi should be. mac history , mac fans, yad eliau, means having a strnong team , a team that should get every year f8 surely and u can't build a team to go in f8 next year if u ll add old names who play 15 minutes each one. halperin is a very good 25 minutes player and it could be a good add for next season. only reason i'll add vujicic is to make him as maccabi eyes in ex yu republics and for this, he need a tie and a jacket not nike shoes!

LOL

Look, Pnini is 26 year old. He's not that young but he is inexperienced in the high levels.
Fernando San Emeterio was in a pretty same situation with Tau yesteryear. Where is he now?

Of course I don't compare between them because San Emeterio is probably a better basketball player.
BUT- Pnini has shown some talent in the Israeli league and this and the foreign regulations should keep him in Maccabi, at least as a role playing backup Small Forward.

The story with Yaniv is different because he's totally overpaid.
The chances he (and his 1M contract) will stay in Maccabi for the next season are close to none.
Maccabi can cut him for 100K and they'll probably do so.

Rothbart would be fairly good as 3rd EL center and a filler in the BSL.

@goga78
Lasme's defensive presence is indescribable. No doubt about that.
But his offensive game is just horrible. Turnover prone, bad finishing skills and lousy shot selection.
He could be huge alongside Nikola Vujcic at his prime, but that's not the situation.

I guess Maccabi and Laz are going to part ways this summer, unfortunately.
Fischer is the crowd-fav and he needs a post-player to be paired with.

You shouldn't write of Jasikevičius already. Too many times that effort failed and Jasikevičius came up with big victories and clutch performances.
