Greek teams are doing a very good scouting. Especially Panathinaikos with a very low budget does a very good selection of players. If panathinaikos had the budget of Real, Csska, FBUlker, Barca, AJ milano etc... the team could have better players especially for the bench.

Panathinaikos has the by far the lowest budget from all the playoff teams.

Turkish teams have the budget but I think that they don't have good scouters. Spanish teams and CSKA are selecting loosers or arrogant players.
However, Turkey, Spain, and Russia have better national competitions than the Greek one. This makes the transfers market more difficult for them (however, this is not always an excuse especially when building a new team; for example Fenerbahce Ulker messed up everything this year).

Its not about scouting
Neither pao brought something extraordinary this season except known players
It is about tactical approach.

By the way noone from pao fans underestimate and dont respect a huge team like barcelona.i think now there is no favorite in this matchup since pao matched up the possibilities.now its clearly 50-50 to advance

:D:D

Pao budget is around 13m.if you exclude the tax in greece, about professional players ,which is around 40-45% you will realise that is not high at all.ofcourse there are teams that playing with 2-5m.ok we are not so deep but not at all as high as the rest of the playoff teams

Pao does not have one of top budgets, but to say Greek teams have very low buget is kind funny. It's still among highest bugets in Europe and more then good to create competiive teams. Pao budet is small, just like last year Olympiacos is "cindarella"

One avrege playr as Ukic gets 800K

sure, only I can say is omg

Rude hands...

Oh man i remember the conversation with maccabeo trying to persuade me that lasme wont help :p especially giving this as his arguement

You seem awfully dissmissive of the first seeded team in the EL. I guess the dissapointment is too damn strong... Even for someone who does not support any of the two teams involved ;)

He is really disappointed. He was hoping Flopperlona would eliminate PAO. He probably had a premature celebration.

Again pao has 13m budget and IF YOU EXCLUDE 40-45% taxes goes much lower.
The example you put is not the best since ukic takes 800k but he is the second in paying at PAO.not 5th or 6th but second behind DD.when you have at least 8 teams that have 2 or 3 players above 1m this says something.
Ofcourse PAO doesnt have the lowest budget like Alba or partizan for example.that would be stupid.but plenty of teams have CLEAR budget more than 10m and higher than the greens.
For the last time here in greece we have tax problem at professional sports.has nothing to do like for example in russia and turkey where more or less the tax is lower and you have a clear budget to negotiate transfers at the start of the season.here you have to consider also this.
Efes, fener, barca, real, cska, khimki, unicaja ,zalgiris ,milano are higher .
Oly and maybe caja are higher a bit too.i dont know about MTA though it seems low too.PAO REAL budget is less than 8m for sure.

nice job..

Great video

The budget talk has no point in that stage of the competition..Every team should review what they spent and what they achieved but this should take place at the end of the year. Right now these are the teams and these players are competing.
As for my opinion, Barcelona did nothing wrong this year..They have a full roster, they've played great basketball, they have solutions at every position. They are just unlucky because they had injuries at a crucial point and they bumped onto Pao which was clearly the worst opponent for them (CSKA aside).

Pao on the other hand trully reminds a Malkovic team but much more athletic and much more attractive. It is taken for granted that PAO will eat a piece of any opponent's soul before they (PAO) go down.

Still I don't think that anything is over because every game, every play is struggle like 2 years ago..and that's why I think that these series will become one of EL's classics.

PS:I haven't been active for a long time due to work obligs but....is it me or Kwijbo has tuned it down a bit??? :P

Jankovic celebratin in a Pao game. Now i've seen it all.

Why not? I know your answer already.

"I came to a war as an opponent, but I really feel I've returned home. The applause and the chants during the warm-up brought tears to my eyes and inside me I feel bad, since I have to play at the OAKA opposing Panathinaikos in the quater-finals series with so much tension and the prize of a F4! I would have liked to have returned as Mike (Batiste) did in a very indifferent game so I can enjoy it, to see my friends, salute the fans and reciprocate their love! But fate brought it in a way where I have to be concentrated on my team's game..I say this from down deep in my heart and I'm just waiting for Thursday night to be redeemed and independent from the result to return to Barcelona and leave all these difficult emotions that I've being feeling the last 24 hours behind me."

Vlade Jankovic enjoying last night.

Hope we sign him next year.

Yannakopoulos spoke about the greek element during the summer transfers.
Yankovits, pappas, adetokoubo, fotsis will be a pleasant gift to the team;)

Yes, but the thing is that Ukic has the biggest salary behind Mitsos this year if i remember well.

Edit
I just saw that CG mentioned it as well.

That would be great. Giankovits, Pappas and Fotsis is just what this team needs. I am not sure though if adetokoubo is ready for a team like Pao.
