Blake Griffin (LA Clippers thread)

Griffin is averaging 18.5 PPG and 10.9 rebounds through the first 14 games of the season.
Griffin has also said he's interested in playing for team USA at the 2012 Olympics in London.

I am continually amazed at how humans continue to improve athletically. Jordan, LeBron, Dwight Howard, Blake Griffin.... all crazy athleticism. The way Griffin can just propel off the ground with such strength and momentum is scary.

Just when you think you won't see someone more amazing.... someone comes along. The really scary thing is that he's just not athletic, but actually skilled too.

They didn't even show Griffin's followup dunk over Mozgov, which would have been dunk of the night if he didn't follow it up with those two other amazing dunks.

Eric Gordon

Eric Gordon

I like Eric Gordon from the Clippers. I like his game. Undersized shooting guard but has tremendous athleticism to compensate. He is a good shooter and the best perimeter defender on the team in my opinion.

Los Angeles Clippers 99 Sacramento Kings 82

Blake Griffin with 25 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Eric Gordon scores a team high 28 points.

Los Angeles Clippers 108 Phoenix Suns 116

Despite the loss, rookie Blake Griffin had 20 points, added 14 rebounds and 2 blocks. Shooting guard Eric Gordon scores a team high with 32 points while adding 6 assists.

On the win against the San Antonio Spurs, Baron Davis made his return by scoring a modest 7 points and had 10 assists off the bench in 23 minutes of playing time. Also notable is Davis' chemistry on the court with rookie forward Blake Griffin.

While center Chris Kaman is recovering at a steady rate.

The short-handed Los Angeles Clippers will play the Los Angeles Lakers in Wednesday where the Clippers will be missing reserve Brian Cook (suspension), Chris Kaman (Bruised bone in left ankle) and guard Baron Davis is questionable with a sore left hamstring.

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Phil Jackson had positive comments on rookie Blake Griffin in comparison with Washington Wizards John Wall. Jackson said in a post-game interview:

"Blake Griffin obviously has a big impact in a game right now and Wall looks to me like he's still searching."

"Wall had a good game last night but he looks to me like he's still searching for what his game is. Blake looks more mature than Wall at this point."

Other Lakers players gave comments about Griffin:

Ron Artest said:

"Blake Griffin can still get rookie of the year? Oh, Blake.

"Blake is a human highlight film. I haven't even had a chance to study his game because I'm too busy looking at his dunks."

Lamar Odom said:

"Kid next door. Explosive. Very explosive. The way he gets it, he's very entertaining. Fun to watch."

Center Chris Kaman will be out for three weeks in estimated time due to a aggravated bone bruise and deltoid ligament sprain of his left ankle.
