that was a huge gap to overcome. by the way it's only 30 points. TNT was down 19-49 with around 9 mins to go in the 2nd stanza, however TNT outscoreed BK, 34-14, to cut the deficit to just 10 at halftime where the score was peg 63-53 in favor of the whoppers.

Final score was 118-105 for TnT. Meaning that's a 43-point turnaround.

Congrats to Guiao for a job well done. :D
For that matter, congrats to Guiao for still keeping his job. :D:D

Lol...The PBA really needs to phase out coaches like Yeng Guiao, Kenneth Duremdes and Junel Baculi, and allow teams to hire foreigh coaches to infuse new methods and skills to our Pro players, sad to see that these guys would enter the league with very high potentials, yet the coaching and skills are backwards..........................

Only if BCAP would stgop its Nationalism nonsense

the philippine sports people must not be considered as professionals..
they dont act like one. they are too much in favor of nationalism w/c i think is dumb. its not really nationalism, its kumpare system. ^^

"kumpare, baka naman mawalan ako ng trabaho"

trans:" kumpare, i know you know" :D

Yeah some of our local B-ball bodies like BCAP take nationalism to the extreme that it borders none sense.

Our style of Basketball is already in stagnation (probably decline) and they still don't want to infuse themselves with new style and thinking outside of the country.

Its simply been disastrous for us and I don't they care as long as they keep their authority. Meh~!

^ Easier said than done. Am pretty sure when your job is on the line you will fight for it ;) i get your points though...

Back to on-court action. SMB suffered a bad start but recovered just in time to blowout the Whoppers as Alaska had an easy time over Barako Bull...

Clearly, the contenders are: SMB and Alaska. With Talk N Text, Ginebra and probably Purefoods as dark horse in this conference...

with only ten teams in the league, a number of talented players with eventually rot in the bench, luckily, Aljamal is given the playing time to showcase his skills......... (OT: we need more teams, and more International exposure!!!!)

arwind didnt show that performance in asiad championship. poor coaching by guiao by letting santos shot the 3's. what is he thinking? thats not peja stojakovic nor even micheal redd. if he just let santos play his game in asiad championship then a better result might come.

santos stats padding play would not excel in intl ballgames:D:D

True, true... but I think by allowing positive changes in our Basketball by means of foreign influence will create more opportunities and jobs bec the level of Basketball will go up making for high demand in grass-roots scene and collages to continue to train the local talent that is coming out across the country but like you said easier said than done but then again I would rather see them try, than drag everyone down with them. X_X;;

On the PBA note, when is my Gins playing again?

wala na malapit ng pumanaw ang PBA. Kita mo di man mapuno ang Ynares Gym sa Rizal Provincial capital sa Pasig.Lipat na lang sila sa caruncho gym sa ilalim ng pasig city hall.

trans:

PBA league is beginning to die. they cant even filled up a gym like yanares in pasig with a seating capacity of less than 5000people. they Should transfer to caruncho gym located at the bottom of the Pasig city call.

More foreign coaches would be nice, but our local coaches on the other hand must also prioritize attending some coaching clinics abroad. For them to learn some new techniques and concepts of the game.

Ang problema 2001 pa natin naririnig yan na mamatay na ;)

Trans: No, it won't.

i think it's not the PBA that is dying here.. for me, the right term is the "fanbase" or the "believers" that is dying.. i understand why people use the term "PBA" because the fans are one of its foundations and will probably be one cause of its downfall.. but with the rich business men supporting it, i doubt it will die soon.. but it will eventually if the trend keeps on going and too many fans(and future draftees like the smart gilas) become more unsatisfied and add to that the poor management of the comish.. with SLR and barako bull having financial problems, i wonder how long will the PBA can keep up.. maybe until there is only one corporation owning all the teams?:)

also, i feel that the balance of Phil. basketball is turning more towards the collegiate leagues and national team than the profesional league simply because of the feeling of belongingness to a team which the PBA fails to deliver to their fans..

Fanbase, believers, what most fails to realize is that these collegiate players, and even NT players will eventually find its way back to the PBA; thus, creating even more fanbase, or believers in the not-so-near future.

i am saying it again, we've heard similar sentiments before (way back in 2000 or 2001 or the MBA days) but here we are in 2009 with the PBA still intact; sure, probably "less" popular and financially successful but it's not a dying breed as most (in this forum, anyway) speculate.

Just my opinion..

would you think id Studio 23 will cover the PBA games. It would help the league?
