I think this has to be updated. Is there any other country have as strict a jus sanguinus as us? Even Japan you can be naturalized if you stay long enough and have a working knowledge of Nihongo. It is most unfair to the Nth generation immigrants who don't have the money to be naturalized. It is highly ironic that a 4th generation Fil-am can claim Filipino citizenship even if it is like 60 years since any of his ancestors has set foot in the mother land. While somebody whose family has been living in the Philippines for over a hundred years cannot be naturalized because they don't have the money.
