Watching the reply, I'm losing my hope on andray. I don't think he would be in tip top shape with just less than a month before fiba asia. Forcing himself to the gym would be too risky there would be a high probability of an injury that may occur. We're fzxcked up I though it was kendrick perkins playing lol

More like the 6'10 right hand version of dorian peña

Question why gilas always using practice jersey in pocket tournament? O.o

Because they are "practicing" are they not? They are not in that tournament to win it, but to gel together and to familiarize themselves with coach Tab's system.

Overweight blatche is still better than the current douthit

He still will be one of the best big men in Asia, he's just that talented. I'm just not sure if it's good enough to place 1st. I think with the present make-up of the team and the shape Blatche will be this Sept i like our chances of medalling (top 3)

Well, because of how the groupings were random, no matter what placing Gilas got in the preliminary round if Fiba Asia they are bound to face a very strong opponent from Group F in the quarterfinals onwards (4 of thesee 5 teams Sokor, China, Lebanon and Chinese Taipei, Jordan will probably come up of group F). Get the best seeding and you still face a team like Lebanon or CT or Jordan. Or the other hand, If China got a decent to good seeding in Group F they will face a weaker team like India/Palestine/Kuwait/Japan.

The crucial aspect of this tourney is the quarterfinals (1 game) which could decide make or break. Win it, you can go for medalling. Lose it, you have to settle for 5th to 8th.

the best 5 combination in the floor for me was Rosario, Norwood, Rosser, Romeo and Blatche (when attracting the D and passing out).

i think this gilas team can win the gold just continue on the right direction. NO more Jimmy and Gary please. when this team peaks in the right time for FIBA asia (Blatche losing 10-20lbs, Castro at 100%, Abueva, Romeo and Intal adjusts to intl game) our team would be unbeatable.

There must be a purposeful reason why Blatche has put on all this weight. With our size disadvantage in the middle, I can see why...
We need another point guard. As much as we can't question Romeo's commitment and abilities, he has limitations and I'm sorry but at this time, he can't be a director in this team. He can't change his tendencies overnight. Where is Wright by the way?

Wright's eligibility is 50-50.

If you want to play "bigger" you add muscles keep on playing to stay in bball shape. I saw him two weeks ago, chubby cheeks, big tummy and all. You know he's been eating a lot since feb and not in bball shape.

With Romeo, he is better as a weak side attacker. Its also nice that Tab uses Norwood with him to provide stability and defense up top. With Blatche attracting attention on strong side, I trust Romeo in hitting that jumpshot.

With Ganuelas, Im not yet sold. He has great defensive instincts and athleticism but he's better at guarding SF. His footwork is not good enough vs guards. but then again, the guards in fiba asia are not as tall and athletic. His jumpshot is also broken. Jumps too high then has that ugly hitch. But having him on the roster will also allow Norwood and Abueva to be aggressive on D.

Troy looks like a deer in headlights but I still want him in the lineup. Still good enough to contribute and this experience will payoff next fiba asia.

Might be OT here but I think China and Korea are locks to go 1 and 2 in group F. So as long as we finish in the top 2 of ours (group E), we'll be facing either Chinese Taipei, Jordan or Lebanon, strong opponents for sure, but definitely a tier below China and Korea.

I can't wait..
will it be broadcasted live on the sports5 youtube channel again?

I agree with your assessment of Troy's performance, remember JF was also a "deer in headlights" in his first FIBA stint but eventually became comfortable over time . .. Let's give him time, he will get it with a few more games under his belt.

No live feed for tonights game? Thanks
