Yes Washington never played in a FIBA TOURNAMENT.

But that is not a problem because like Cabagnot, JayWash was only raised in the US as he was born in Olongapo and when he was 10 years old that's the time the petition by his American Dad was granted which made him migrate to the United States.

So he may have laid claim of his Filipino citizenship be4 turning 16 years old?

he was only a part of the pool/selection but never made it in the final list

You're exactly correct. Jay-Wash was part of the nat'l pool from 2005 & 2006 together w/ fellow fil-am Joe Devance. If I'm not mistaken, they were still playing in the PBL at that time. I remember them playing for the nat'l. pool team vs. the Dennis Rodman led team made up of retired NBA stars & young players from the NBA-D-League.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IS THAT FIBA-ASIA OFFICIALS ONLY QUESTIONS/SCRUTINIZES NATIONAL PLAYERS WHO WERE NOT BORN IN THE COUNTRY THEY ARE REPRESENTING. ITS BECAUSE THE BASIC DOCUMENTS THE PLAYERS HAS TO SUBMIT FOR SCREENING ARE ONLY A COPY OF HIS OR HER BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND THE CURRENT PASSPORT HE OR SHE IS USING.

And this also the same standard the PBA uses, that's why even if a player was raised and studied in a foreign country but was born in the Philippines, re-acquired Filipino Citizenship and has a valid Philippine Passport on hand, he is classified as a "LOCAL" and not as a "FIL-FOREIGNER". As a "LOCAL", one is no longer required to play 2 PBA D-League Conferences and does not need to submit a Department Of Justice Certificate of Confirmation and Affirmation of Citizenship from the Bureau of Immigration.

Personally, I find this confusing and maybe not correct however that's how they interpret it.

Well, good to hear that sir Nards! Tenx for your response. Maybe it would be a blessing in disguised that it would be Jay Washington who will end up w/ the Gilas-2 pool (assuming his new team lends him to the NT) instead of Gabe Norwood. I feel that Norwood & Jared Delinger will have the same role in the pool & between the 2, I will choose Delinger becoz he plays w/ more heart & confidence. With J-Wash in the NT, we will have another scoring option at the wings. I feel Kelly Williams isn't really a scorer & would just be good as a defensive role player. I think it's Ranidel Deocampo whom coach Chot can count on to provide scoring at the No. 4 spot. W/ J-Washington in the team, merong kaalalay si Ranidel sa scoring who like him is both deadly from the outside as well as in the inside.

TNT vs ROS

a must win for TNT because a lose will mean they go home.

sometimes, nay, most of the times...it is absolutely necessary to place :sarcasm: here in the forum...

let's all hope for a tnt loss tonight...oh and i'm a bit confused...what if bgk and bmeg both get the 4 of 5 rule? quotient or knockout game? also, what if both bmeg and ros end up tied at 10 then bgk gets the 4 of 5?

I posted this in the past, if I am not mistaken twice already.

"At the end of the semis, the top team will get an automatic finals slot. If a team wins four out of its five games in the semis and finishes out of the top two, it will win a playoff for the second seat against the No. 2 team. If no team wins four out of five games, the No. 2 team advances directly to the finals.

At the end of the semis, only a tie for the No. 2 spot will result in a playoff game."

i believe ROS owns the best quotient of all teams (that or worst case scenario is that ROS lose to BMEG but not by more than 6 points) so we have a "sort-of" three way tie at the top (sort of because another could not really be tied with the regular record but with the 4-of-5 incentive rule as with your theoretical records of 10 wins for ROS and BMEG and 4 of 5 incentive for GIN and maybe even TNT) ROS advances to the Finals and everybody else fight for one of the Finals seats via a playoff.

i was halfway into making the scenarios but realized i wasn't even halfway because there are still lots of scenarios. :D Let's wait for tonight's TNT loss and re-analyze the scenario from there :)

even though the league had earlier said only a tie for 2nd place after the semifinals would warrant a playoff .... with so many scenarios that could result to at most 3 teams having a chance to be the 2nd finalist, I wonder how Commisioner Chito Salud would handle said situation which it seems they never anticipated to happen, would it be fair to have the quotient system to decide the matter.
