Ranidel De Ocampo - (6'5" - PF)
Ryan Reyes - (6'1" - PG)

This team is tall but what concerns me is lack of good shooters. Dillinger is still inconsistent in his outside shot, Reyes is more of a defensive player so after JJ and James no other player is a reliable perimeter player.

The way I see it ...... and knowing how Coach Yeng thinks.

reality check would say unfortunately both ailing Kelly Williams and injured Ryan Reyes would be out and joining them at the sidelines is Sonny Thoss who has not gotten Guiao's confidence.

First Five would be (but Guiao does not usually maintain a permanent one)

Center - Asi Taulava
Power Forward - Kerby Raymundo
Small Forward - James Yap
Shooting Guard - Arwind Santos
Point Guard - Jayjay Helterbrand

Off the bench would be:

Willie Miller
Gabe Norwood
Japeth Aguilar
Cyrus Baguio
Ranidel de Ocampo
Jared Dillinger
Mick Pennisi

all the players can shoot the perimeter shots except for taulava maybe..while 3/4 of these players are capable of shooting the 3's

We have the same choice..Just replace Arwind on Gabe..

Arwind is peaking his game..I saw him last night and this guy just awwwwwwww me..gabe is good but not yet that consistent...

From the press release, the "Final 12" will be announced after the Jones Cup.

my 12 man line up

Aguilar
Taulava
Penissi
Thoss or DeOcampo
Raymundo
Dillinger
Norwood
santos
Yap
Baguio
Helterbrand
Miller

Ryan Reyes is a good pointguard for the team but he is prone to injury he may become a liability anyway Norwood can play the pointguard position.

All our opinions are correct but let us respect coach yeng decision on who will be the final 12. He is the headcoach and he knows what he is doing.

From the press release, the "Final 12" will be announced after the Jones Cup.

Coach Yeng planned to release his final 12 after evaluating the players who would be with the team during the Jones Cup but since FIBA-Asia has done it again and made another rule change, that would no longer be possible.

In a stark departure from past practice, organizers of the FIBA-Asia championship tournament set Aug. 6 to 16 in Tianjin, China, have moved forward the submission of the lineups by a couple of weeks, prompting Guiao to also speed up his choices for his 12-man crew.

Guiao had earlier planned on arriving at his final roster for the Asian joust following the July 18-27 Jones Cup in Taipei, where a team is allowed as much as a 15-man lineup with only 12 to be used in a given game.

As late as the 2007 edition of the biennial tournament in Tokushima, Japan, teams have had the luxury of submitting their final lineups until the day before the tilt unfolds. That way, the opposition is left in the dark as much as possible, as what Guiao had wanted.

Now, instead of playing out at least the Nationals’ nine-game eliminations assignments in the Jones Cup for Guiao to truly find out the best players for the right combinations he has in mind for the FIBA-Asia, he only has about three games at most.

“Wala tayong magagawa if the organizers have so ordered. I am sure na pare-parehas naman tayong mga kasali sa Jones Cup at FIBA-Asia na apektado kaya okay lang.”

waaah ryan not playing?
Is already confirmed sir nardy?

Nope I did not confirm he is not playing but since he is not 100% healed there's a possibility. Actually they are rushing his rehab but even if the spirit and the will of Ryan is that he wants to play, physically it would be very difficult already.

Players who are sure to be in the 12 man line up

1.arwind<--major asset to the team all aspect
2.japeth<--NBA blocking ability the sheriff very good help defence
3.pinisi<--Bigman can shoot 3's (Taijutsu specialist)
4.Asi<--We need a banger
5.Yap<--scorer 3 pointer
6.Norwood<---Tall and good defender can do point
7.Dillinger<--same as Gabe
8.raymundo<---You guys all know him..
9.Helterbrand.<---Pg with accurate 3's

Unsure players ( My opinion)

Sonny thoss<--ppol think he is soft. He is not! but he lacks mid jumpers
Willy miller<--More effective as 2.Seen last night.
Cyrus Baguio<--scoring machine high flyer ppol think he is not n accurate shooter. I think He is!
Yancy De Ocampo<-- Can shoot 3's is now a padawan of Yeng Taijutsu as seen last night. PPol tend to understimate him coz he looks slugging and clumsy sumtimes. i was seating near the american bench and der coach was seying dont double team him (De ocampo) No help defence! he wasd really clumsy..but was able to hit one 3 poiterr

with Coach Yeng sticking with his 15-man pool, i want to see this line-up for the FIBA-Asia joust:

Starters:

C- Asi Taulava (6'9)
PF- Sonny Thoss (6'8)
SF- Arwind Santos (6'4)
SG- James Yap (6'3)
PG- Jay-Jay Helterbrand (6'0)

Second Five:

C- Mic Pennisi (6'9)
PF- Japeth Aguilar (6'9)
SF- Kerby Raymundo (6'6)
SG- Gabe Norwood (6'5)
PG- Ryan Reyes (6'0)

Bench:

SF- Jared Dillinger (6'5)
SG- Willie Miller (5'11)

if only Kelly Williams is healthy, i would put him in the starting line-up and drop Willie Miller from the Final 12 (Sonny Thoss moved to bench).

sonny over japeth?

sonny over japeth?

actually first i'm thinking of putting Japeth in the starting 5 but i believe he will be more effective coming from the bench as he will inject hustle and energy for our second five. besides, this will keep our opponents guessing what will Japeth bring on the floor.
