2009 Philippines NT vol. IV

Yeah, everyone must realize they should just move on with the JunMar issue. To anyone who has been courted but has been unwilling (or unable) to join the NT, well...good luck to them. With a solid team program going forward, one player alone is not the SBP's loss.

Those who are really missing out on a good opportunity are the players who, for lack of will power to decide for themselves, expropriate their own career decisions to others. The fact that certain players are at the mercy of their beloved handlers and agents is beyond the SBP's control.

Our federation is better off focusing on what they can control and I feel they are doing a decent job at that.

Yeah its sad to see some people still thinking backwards and letting their ego get the better of them and the player getting the short end of everything. I guess its more frustration on seeing a good player not getting a chance than SBP losing out on one player.

We've all been fighting for progress so seeing something like this irks us coz this is the last thing we don't want to see.

Oh well...

Hay does anyone know if the tournament Smart Gilas is participating this coming january will be shown live in Philippine TV?

I'm curious about Fajardo's handlers, what are their terms? are they after a bigger compensation, or on the other side of the coin, are they protecting the big man's welfare in a way that they think Fajardo would be exploited along the way...well, if Greg Slaughter is with Gilas, why would they let JF to be left behind? they must make sense, or JF would end up as the next Samigue Eman or worse...

Just like what Nardy said before these guys have "utang na loob!" with their handlers and their schools....the solution here I think is...."show me the money!"

This is a problem we really have to deal with since sports schools are still non-existent here in our country. Our national basketball program still has to depend on school-based programs.

Other posters have mentioned this before, we need an academy similar to the ais where they will have good facilities and get training from the national coach all year round. They'll be living on campus, training on campus while competing locally and internationally. That way, we'll be less dependent (I'm not saying we can be totally independent because we will need them in one way or another) from the school-based teams.

good to see new names .... and im extremely excited for the incoming results,.... but i am also sad at the same time because,...we still have those young prospect names that are in the pba that can be a very very very (i mean very!!!) big help in our country's campaign ,.... e.g. GABE NORWOOD, KELLY WILLIAMS, RYAN REYES,...sayang,... Imagine playing with these kids with some pros,..though,..I know its hard to be realize,.. nakakalungkot,... POLITICS IS REALL KILLING OUR COUNTRY'S WELFARE...
