Iran is participating in stankovic cup???? If yes, it's goona be the "a" nt or the "b" is going to participate?
 
I was away for a long time! glad to see familiar people around and posting. I got a lot of catching-up to do by reading all these different threads :)
I just read in abrarnews that Afagh injured his knee in Europe, hope it's not serious it doesn't sound too serious,he's saying he needs to rest for a few weeks in this interview.

Embarrassing indeed Mohsen. But it's okay, it was a friendly after all. They should play these kind of matches toward the end of their preparation as I think Khalid suggested, when they have all the players. If Haddadi and Kazemi (I don't know how much playing min he would get and how much Matic trusts him at the moment) were there this wouldn't have happened. On the other hand it's good that they have scheduled some nice matches with good European teams. Its also nice that the NT s respected more at the international level and a team like Italy plays with their A-team against us.

What happened to that player from Australia by the way(Erfan Momeni, if I'm not mistaken)? was he not good enough?

the player I see in Jones Cup is even worse Hooman Rezaei !! I hope he become 100% but currently he is almost 1% ! also Tajik isn't a bad player, don't forget he helped us in Asian Champs in both semifinal and final matches. to me Tajik and Sohrabnejad (a ready one) are in the same level !

I think Matic didn't pick him ! I saw him on TV and as a compatriot I wish the best of luck for him but to be honest I was sure from the beginning that Matic won't pick him !! he is still young, maybe in future !

I still do not understand why Koochoie hasn't been called to come and play? He was on the list but still hasn't been called to show for camp? Doesn't make any sense, I hope it's not based on his talent? I am following him in the Nike Chicago Pro-Am and he scored 40pts. 6rbs 6ast in his first game yesterday.. Last season was a good first season for him he had told me he avg around 13 to14 points per game and he played with a young team, kids that weren't good basketball players..I think he should get called up because he plays well with good players.. what do you guys think?? how was his first season??

We were discussing in the Smart Gilas thread about the different National teams vs the best team in the league and who would win.

Hypothetically speaking, do you think if the best Mahram team (including their import players Vroman and Woods) played against the Iranian NT who would win? Does Mahram have a chance or it would be a relatively easy game for the Iranian NT with Haddadi.

Mahram (and any other Iranian club) has only 3 NT players, so Iran NT will beat any Iranian club.

if Samad, Mehdi and Afagh play for NT ! Iran NT will win by a big margin !
if they play for both teams, Iran NT will win by a mediocre margin.
if they play for Mahram, Iran NT will win by a small margin.

Mahram won the iranian league with a 22-0 record , (shame on our fed, only 22 matches per season :eek:) but they had some close matches, ZobAhan with 2 average imports (oh ok , only 1 , Garnett was really good) almost beat Mahram in Tehran.

Mahram vs NT
Kamrani < Kamrani/Davari
Afagh < Afagh/Davari
Samad = Samad
Vroman > Oshin
Woods < Haddadi
Hashemi << Matic
Mahram has nothing on bench !

BUT all of my logic is wrong !! because the god of basketball, Rajko Toroman is not agree !! he said the opposite (to Al-Kass channel) after his very talented team lost to Mahram in Doha ! :D

man no offence but are you joking??:D

if bahrami plays for mahram against iran then mahram will win by small margin.
if bahrami, kamrani played with mahram then mahram 10-15 pts
if bahrami, kamrani, afagh played with mahram then mahram 20-30 pts

bottom line: Iran's best 3 are bahrami,kamrani,afagh

I just watched some frames of the game but I know TPE even had 17pts lead in the start of the 3rd quarter !

after a year, a team scored 80 or more against us ! guess who is the last team with 80 or more ?? Chinese Taipei in 2009 Jones Cup ! :eek:

according to him, Hamed Haddadi, Arsalan Kazemi, Javad Davari, Pooya Tajik and Saman Veisi most probably will play in Stankovic Cup :) (he didn't mention Hamed Afagh) so we can see our best possible team in China. we have this opportunity to play with A squad of Australia, Slovenia (one of our opponents in Turkey) and China. the match versus China will be very interesting. are they seeking revenge ? :D
