TO Jordan Congrats..
TO RP TEAM POWERADE YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE MY RESPECT...Mabuhay

I really hate coach yeng.Norwood is getting hot then coach yeng take him out.Asi taulava also having a good game then bang!,coach yeng pull him out.we know that kerby is not having a good game this tournament and yet coach yeng keep using him.i didnt see any traping defence...:(

We cannot blame our players they just did what they can do best....jordan was highly favored to win the game..jordan was just better as a team & too strong for the phils...probable huge upset for our powerade team with our current lineup was out of the question...

It is of course. They are the taller team, if we wanted to get the rebounds are guards should have contributed because are bigs will be too occupied boxing out.

We should have ganged rebounded earlier, it was obvious we are going to get out hustled. Oh well good game nothing to be ashamed off, we know we are the underdog.

I just hope this shows the !d!ots at PBA that they need to help, so our talent won't stagnate and die in the Pro game like they have been doing for 2-3 decades now. This game was not out of reach as many hope but we could have done better if we have all the tools to begin with.

Not to mention JR Reyes has outside shooting that Yeng is asking Kerby to do that we know he does not have.

definitely...shooting three is more natural to jr than to kerby...agility-wise, kerby is only a step quicker.if jr can add more bulk he could even be better.but even now, i think he would have made a difference because of his size and shooting touch.nwei, too bad for kerby.im sure many fans will be cursing him the way they will curse yeng and sonny.

i think PBA must still continue to participate.... we're getting stronger as the days gone by... but not for now, maybe in a couple of years.......

It was in the 2nd quarter where we faltered. Guiao used Santos in this quarter instead of bringing back Jared. I really think our rhythm changed when he entered.

I give our team an A for effort. We were up against a stronger and well prepared team and we gave them a good fight.

I would like to congratulate Jordan for a well deserved win and for our players and coaching staff who overachieved. At the same time, I didn't understand why Kerby was on the floor at all. It's apparent he can't defend rebound and score against Jordan. Coach Yeng obviously trusts him a lot. He was open a lot of times but that is scouting for you. You will be free for a reason. Palma is that smart.

in reality, we have players that can actually match-up well against the arab teams and east asian teams.its just that we are always on the look-out for the superstars...jacobs said before to cone, "form a real team, not an all-star team." 1 asian games and 2 fiba-asia later, we are still not heeding his advice.

tangina naman kasi, bakit ba niyo di madepensahan sila? di man lang makarebound ng matino kasi tulala yung nasa ilalim, di ata tinuruan sa PBA kung paano mag-box out. kundi dahil kay Norwood at Miller, tinambakan nanaman sila. yan ang larong PBA, puro yabang at porma lang.

*translation*
congratulations to Jordan, they've always been the better team. to our Team Pilipinas, may this experience teach you (again) that we're no longer a basketball power in Asia and we've been overtaken by national teams who mix youth and experience very well, have big men who do more than shoot from the outside, are used to playing in a system, and play tough defense until they grab the rebound.

well... let's get the no 5 for the possible wildcard....Well, It's a good game though and we received respect but this is not the end but the beginning of the rise of Philippine Basketball because I feel the PBA will merge with the SBP RP team and MY GOD.. It's a strong team!..Go get the no 5

In a fast pace game rebounding is not emphasized and what is the problem of RP team now :D:D:D
Japeth deserve his spot:D:D:D:D:D

Philippines will never improve unless they will put down pride and kick the too much politics.

Also i urge some notable posters here like Mr Nardy and Insular Life guy to lobby to basketball philippines to change their old skool basketball. from barangay amateur and collegiate league. nevermind the PBA as they are their selfish

tnx and peace

Team Pilipinas did well nonetheless. I hope the PBA changes it's mind and builds up on this.

thank you mick and asi! team pilipinas has nothing to be ashamed of, we gave them hell! looking forward to the smart gilas team.

Jordan's offensive rebounding and second-chance shots was the game changer. Playing against stronger players does affect your inside game including offensive rebounds. you can make up for it if your quicker, but what if those stronger players are also quick then it becomes hard...

its obvious from all the powerade games that they could have played better if they had more international practice. considering the limited practice time, i think Guiao was the best man. if there was a longer practice period we could have gone for Reyes again or Uichico. I didnt select Toroman because he is in the SBP team already.

Well, lets count our blessings considering the Powerade's short practice time and our short players :D . thanks for the hard work.

First of all congrats Jordan. You deserve the victory, they are (way) better team for this evening and the past three years. i thought your team was all-Wright but your bigmen, particularly that rebounding demon Abaas that you can be a complete team on both ends of the floor if you want to. i see war in the coming Iran-Jordan semis and nothing like cheering for your team to defeat the defending champions.

As for the Philippines...

We played nice in the first quarter. Followed it up with our biggest stretch in the second but failed to sustain it. The 3rd quarter was forgettable but we did make one last push in the middle of the fourth where we brought down the lead to 5 points.

From then, Mr. Wright took over with a three point lead and put some distance between the teams.
