He claims ignorance that he was taking PEDs. Its up to the individual if you believe him. Most of Philippines sports media has his back for what thats worth.

I believe Ravena should be included in the pool. It will be how he performs on the tune-up games that will be the basis if he is taken or not. But before him Remy is the priority I guess. But that also brings up chemistry questions.

Why was he the only one caught? I'm sure Fiba tested the other players after Keifer was positive. Had another player tested positive JP might've protested the game.

I am sorry this might be off topic but I don't know where to put it..

And disclaimer first, I know a lot of people here praise Japanese Basketball and I do too admire what they have done in the past years..

But I am so flabbergasted that Japan has a free pass in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics being the hosts.. I mean this is the luck of being a very strong and rich country. Yes Japan can be deserving Olympic contenders.. but the fact that they have a free pass and did not go through any kind of qualification really doesn't sit well on me.

Yes a lot of you will say that with Watanabe and Hachimura we will be defeated.. yes that may be true.. but in all honesty, a full strength Pilipinas team, meaning full strength in terms of players and preparation, against a full strength Japanese team, we will beat them 4 out of 5 times at most.. BUT they will go to the Olympics without a sweat..

Just frustrating actually but we can't do anything about it but to beat the hell out of Italy and Angola to advance.. tough order.. tough tough order..

Edu now playing good basketball in US NCAA, especially on defense, maybe a back up for 1 of our PF's... still better than Japeth, Rosario and Erram.. Japeth is always inconsistent and always rattled in crucial games, Rosario was small and thin, same as Erram.. they will also bully by oppenents because of height and heft!!! Edu's wingspan enough to contribute on defense...

Edu's game have lots of upside. His game is similar to Kevin Garnett, however he has a very slow first step on offense. Defensively, he is a specialist coupled with his length and basketball IQ in stopping opponents.

Eventhough he has great potential, right now he still need alot to learn mentally. He is very skilled but still very raw for Gilas Senior Level competition and still need to develop his approach to the game.

If Kai needs to develop his strength, Edu on the other hand, needs his understanding of the game more.

i remember in the early 2000s when angola's national team came to play a couple of tune-up games here. i think they had trouble beating a pbl all-star team lead by james yap, gary david, rdo & pingris

back in 2014 nobody expected PHI gave Argentina, Puerto Rico and croatia a good game they almost won and lost to greece by 13, but this time Gilas will be well scouted. were hoping JC will be cleared as local atleast for additional offense.
