Togo has two imports so far in Jimmy Williams from the US and Hassan(e) Fofana who is from Guinea and played in the US before. They are planning to get Fred Adjiwanou from France, who is of Togolese decent.

It's unfortunate that Egypt will not be playing with full force in the upcoming Afrobasket especially with the absence of their talented big men at the center and forward positions: Tarek El Ghannam, the 2 Omars, Ismail Ahmed...

the federation was trying to persuade him to join the camp in turkey because he Is afraid of coming to Egypt in the current circumstances but he didnt and idont know why

Chad will be the only national side taking part that has never competed in Africa’s showpiece event. This is nothing that worries Chad’s coach, Frenchman Patrick Maucouvert.

''We don’t have much experience, but all we are going to do is play with attitude,'' Moucouvert said to FIBA.com.

Recently handed the reins to the team, Maucouvert, who coaches French club Feurs Forez of NM2, plans to bring a combination of home-, Europe- and United States-based players to the tournament.

''We’ll put together the best players we have. It will be an extraordinary experience to play African teams like Angola, Senegal and Morocco in Madagascar.''
