ya its true if people talk too much about their NT other people might think their something like i thought the RP NT was actually a championship contender in 2007 cuz of what every1 was saying about the NT and when they beat us in a friendly game in philippines and they lost in the 1st round and i dt care what u say about being in the goup of death ...u could,ve won 2 out of 3 games if u were good and its not like iran and jordan were in the finals ...jordan didnt even make it to the semis so however u look at it rp was below 5th last time . this isnt the case with lebanon since our fans talk as much as we are good ...we r even modest as we have been 2nd best in asia for 8 years except for 2007 ...imagine if RP was getting all these achievements how much they would talking ...they havent got a medal in 50 years and they think their the best ....like when the rp coach said "we can beat the chinese" :p and they could barely win a group of chinese teens

Correction dude. We haven't won a medal in 24 years (1985 Kuala Lumpur) and that was our 5th and last asian championship.

bla bla bla, whatever
if i remember correctly, that team who barely wins in a group of chinese teen
has a record of 1 loss against lebanon last 2007, which is a BUZZER BEATER in the last jones cup
like i said before, the ball is round, anything can happen, who knows, china even won't win the championship
so let's not have too much pride in ourselves and let's just leave to the national teams of each countries to do the talking

if this were the nba (which obviously it isnt), the philippine team is like the boston celtics minus last year's nba championship lol. boston celtics used to be big in the 60's up to the early 80's. then it sort of faded away. however, this comparison sucks because boston has already regained its former glory last year while the philippines is still stuck in a rut.:p i hope we regain it this year for this comparison to have any meaning. :p Lebanon, on the other hand, is like the present cleveland cavaliers. a very good team with a very dominant star player. lebron for clev and khatib for lebanon. always has its eyes on the championship but only good for 2nd or 3rd.:p further, lebanon and cleveland, no matter how good these teams are, are yet to win a first place finish. :p

I would definitely agree with you on that one. that coach was the worst pba coach in the history of pba-rp teams. I feel sorry for him for saying in an interview that "we're the only team that can bragged of beating china twice" in the 2007 fiba-asia. That dumbhead was so disillusioned that it was lost to him that iran and jordan cannot beat china twice because they did not have the opportunity as they moved to the higher round while china and rp were relegated to the classification round.

The coach has made Phillipine hated by Chinese people.
Chinese always don't want Japan to win according to history reasons, but when Japan meet your team.It seems there will be many fans cheering for Japan....

this time i dont think so...as far as i know there are many pinoys there in china and they know about this tournament:rolleyes: so i think we will have our own share of support...:)

owing to lebanon's move into the post-khatib era and china not using yao, iran emerges as the favorites.

Team RP's chances to make a solid showing ultimately depend on themselves. One on one talent wise they are arguably the best out there, they always had the tools, but again as always the lack of teamwork and preparation prevent them from succeeding. They have a good coach with Guiao, unfortunately this will only be successful if outside shooting (which is terrible lately) clicks in time for the games. Their offense fuels their defensive motivation, and the lack of ceiling can be compensated by their athleticism and collapse tenacity which are trademarks of guiao's system. This is a team with more mobility and versatility compared to 2007s (even without Kelly Williams), but if their perimeter game falter then itll be a long tournament for team rp.

You are overrating iran the only thing that they did in the past touraments is winning on Lebanon in the final by only 5 points ( ali mahmoud the brilliant PG was not playing )
In my opinion Lebanon is in the final and they have a good chance to compete with China

1- Lebanon or China
3- Jordan or Iran
5- Philipines or Korea

maybe youre right, but still they beat us...
they beat phils from a bad call by the ref... we are on our momentum then came a horrible call... its a close game when the ref called a t-foul...

beware of new team pilipinas they do for our flag due or die

Darn it dont show our surprises yet!! alot of ppol will be surprised!!!

Sri Lanka will be the new champions. They will beat china, iran , lebanon, everybody !!!

My easy picks are:
1. PROC
2. Lebanon
3. Iran
4. S. Kor.
5. Jordan

Of course the easier pick for me will be Phils. landing on either one of the top 3 spots but I fancy their chances as the underdog or the dark horse of the tournament. Their preparation is not ideal as usual but at least for my kabalens let us lighten their burden of carrying too much pressure and expectation from Pinoys around the world...

I predict that this year will be the year for the west Asian teams.

1st China
2nd Iran
3rd or 4th Lebanon or Jordan

China 110 -- Iran 95
China 92 -- Kazahkstan 79
China 100 -- Indonesia 30
China 105 -- Japan 85
China 95 -- Philippines 75
China 100 -- Lebanon 60 (with only 1 import)
China 100 -- Lebanon 75 (with 2 imports0
China 100 -- Lebanon 90 ( with 3 imports)

This is how i want chinese team to perform.. if not, maybe a little lower or higher than this. China forever

Based on Japan's performance last game against China B,Our A team should easily beat them by 30+ or even 40+margin

As for other teams,I haven't seen their play recently,So it's hard to say,but I think you have underestimate Lebanon.

hahaha imports?:D For ur knowledge, you can consider Vroman as the only import (though he is loving his new country and is on the way to become a real Lebanese)
As for the others, well I would like to see how China considers its citizens who are born abroad, are they foreigners?
Or you are calling our lebanese abroad imports because they play as imports in other countries?;)

I like how u came up with these predictions and how u considered our players as imports :D
(So each one is worth 15 extra points. If that's the case we need 1 more and then we can defeat China :D)
