USA Basketball Challenge 2010

USA obliterating China here in 3rd quarter. Up 25-2 at one point. Danny Granger looks amazing, scoring in every way possible. Has 20 points

USA wisely looking to push the ball up the floor after every missed shot. Rondo hasn't scored, only looking to distribute. Looks good

Neither Jeff Green nor JaVale McGee played at all. Official cuts have not been made yet, but it’s clear that Green and McGee will be two of the three. The team will probably still take McGee on their trip to Europe, however, just in case Tyson Chandler gets hurt before the World Championship begins.

The third cut? I think that one may be a much tougher decision. And it may not be made until closer to the World Championship.

16-16 after the first quarter. Ugly so far, we'll see if the US settles in. France has no offense without Parker but Bokolo hit a couple threes. Diaw looks fat.

US up 39-30 at halftime. Parker/Longoria/Henry watching the game from courtside.

We had our first "in the rest of the world, the WC is more important than the Olympics" in the second quarter.

Looks like we wont have big news from USA in this WC. They´ll play matador defense exploring their excelent fast break.

US wins 86-55. Better after the first quarter but they're probably still 20-25 points from being a contender. They'll be fortunate to win 2 of the 3 friendlies in Europe.

USA 86 vs France 55

USA 86 vs France 55

USA beats France, 86-55 in their exhibition game. I now believe that it will be a tough tournament in the WC for this young USA team. The average age of Team USA is 25 and below. Their age and inexperience in international play as a team may be their weakness. Another thing they have not been playing together long enough as a team. They do lack size in the paint. Also, they will not have home court advantage. Speed and accurate shooting (plus 3 pointers) plus pressure defense will be the key for them in Turkey.

I'll wait and see how they play in their exhibition game against Lithuania & Greece.

I thought that France suited the US style perfectly. Run against a very open but very athletic defence. USA has not competition on a play like this.

France is terrible this year it seems they were trashed by Canada too still there is lots of time for them left to get better.
