Uaap Season 76 new recruits

What if I tell you it will only be a year of residency? Will you then say that it was a smart move?

Still no. Because Lasalle is full of guards. He will have to compete with so many players, even though he might be the most talented. Also the UAAP only plays 14 times a year with a final four format, but had he gone to play NCAA ball he would have played more games and against better competition.

If Parks turned down Div 1 NCAA schools to go to NU, what's to stop Mustre from doing the same?

ECJ has as much moolah as Henry Sy when it comes to basketball. At the end of the day it just boils down to compensation.

Let's see what new "rule" Montinola will come up with to "level the playing field".

Since Mustre came from another country, he needs to sit for 2 years?

Above posters said that NCAA schools in the states were interested in him, its a dumb move for him to sit out 2 years, given his potential

Unless, Danding gave him the "world"

new fil am rule states that they only need to sit one year only regardless if they are coming from the abroad. even fil-am college transferees will only sit one year.

Where above does it say NCAA schools were interested? I think he has made the right decision in picking DLSU.

If he goes to the US, he'll probably just sit in the bench of an NCAA Div II school or get playing time in a Div III school. Actually he's better off with Ateneo since the coaching staff are very focused with guard development, but going to DLSU is better than going to the US.

For the College coaches who are here, I have a recruit from Montenegro, 6'10 20 year old. PM me I will send you the videos and credentials. Thank you

I guess all is not well in DLSU.

Last wednesday, the Chicago Youth All Star Team played against Ateneo's Team Glory B. The Chicago boys are from the Northwest suburbs that attended the camp run by Franz Pumaren and Tonichi Yturri a year ago in Elk Grove Village with the objective to play against the top high school teams or college team B of Manila base schools in the hopes of obtaining scholarships in the Philippines.

The team was reinforced by Pumaren recruit and ex-archer Papot Paredes and Luigi Pumaren with Tonichi Yturri coaching the team. It was such a strange sight with Franz and Tonichi hawking their recruits to Ateneo instead of DLSU. Basketball politics make strange bedfellows. :p

While I don't believe it, how true is the rumor that with the opening of the DLSU dorm and Coach Sauler's twice a day four hour practices (8 hours daily!), the Archers are now dead tired and have no time for school?

Might be that Boss Danding, is even sicker than admitted and that he no longer has years to wait for the promised Archer championship hence the blank check issued to the team management and the win now mentality?

Of course. In the normal course of things it would take around 3 years to rebuild a team that's carrying Dindo's burden and having Gee as coach stalled the development. (Only Norbert, AVO and Perkins improved). Time isn't on ECJ's side. If Sauler fails to impress he would probably accelerate development even further by getting more Fil-Ams and installing the best coach money can get (probably not from SMC na).

The twice a day practice seems just about right, given that they seem to have had a lot of leisure time when Gee was still on board with all the fancy dinners and outings. There's still time for school but they would probably have to get the minimum 12 units and give up leisure time for the time being.

Problem is, they're on year 6 of a 3 year build up. DLSU's hyped rookies are not developed and replaced yearly by other equally hyped recruits if they don't perform immediately. Where are Marata, Parades, Sara, Tolentino, Elorde, Paredes, Gotladera, Gallarza, Batricevic, Malabes, Martelino, Tallo, et al?

In contrast Juami Tiongson, Pessumal, Monfort and now Elorde were brought along slowly and developed by Ateneo. This year, they'll be playing prominent roles while DLSU is pinning its hopes once again on a team of rookies and sophomores and a rookie coach. What makes DLSU so much different from Ateneo? Culture? Alumni interference? Based on the games I've seen Gotladera play, I can say that he'll be a great player for Ateneo. DLSU's garbage will be developed into gold by the Ateneo staff.

Which brings me to back to the alleged 2 a day practices. Eight hours for practice, 8 hours sleep, 3 hours of class leaves 5 hours to eat, take a bath, commute and socialize with friends. Parang trabaho na, I'm being facetious but with this treatment, they should apply for the benefits of the kasambahay law. They seem to be employees rather than students.

Not only admu turns dlsu fallouts into gold..jeric teng, jeric fortuna are good examples too.

It was really a series of unfortunate events for La Salle whom they only have themselves to blame. They limited themselves to this "La Sallians only" tradition knowing that there are probably only two La Sallian coaches out there with proven programs (Franz and Jong). As for Dindo, he stuck with the Franz' way of recruitment (athleticism over basketball IQ) without having the same capability as Franz to develop all around guards. As a result you're stuck with athletic players but very hard to coach and develop. That's why you really have to give credit to Jun Limpot. Gee was just another mistake. I don't know why they kept on praising him because I was actually disappointed with him all season long. He's a bit hard headed as well insisting on his system that's not working.

As of the moment the tradition is slowly slipping away. You have Caidic from UE and rumors are they're trying to install an assistant coach from UST. The next coach will probably non-lasallian already.

The same exact thing that you wrote was relayed to me by my bro just this morning.

Too much obsession with La Salle?

The players you've mentioned left or were asked to leave the team for different reasons. Some for breaking team rules, some because of Academics. I only see Elorde, Gotladera and Sara as the ones who left because of playing time. Also, you can't expect Batricevic who busted both his knees to play like he did in HS, can you?

Btw, practices are 7-9am and 5-8pm, so it's not 8 hours, just 5. It just an hour more than what most other teams spend in practice. Also, La Salle players are staying in a dorm that is around 200m away from the Enrique Razon sports complex where they have their practices, they don't spend time commuting.

So I ask you, please stop spreading rumors and half-truths about our team.
