UAAP Season 76 Discussion Thread

parks is struggling coz the refs are making it hard for him... i dont know if im the only one seeing this kind of sh*t in phil basketball where good , athletic or gifted players (ex. parks, good imports in PBA) are treated unfairly coz the refs just makes them bleed for their points... wrestling defence na ginagawa wala paring tawag kasi daw para maging exciting ang laro kasi alam nila na lamang na sa laro ang my katulad ni parks.. they are doing this para mag close game para exciting e d dami manonood which is wrong,,,

Or he's not that special. Or just overhyped. Either way, he's still going to be the top pick in the PBA because of his potential.

Great Ateneo Lasalle game. As a lasallian I'm very proud of this victory, but the team still has a lot of holes. Too much heroball between vosotros and teng, and an inconsistent pg play by revillia. They played with heart awhile ago and got the win. Perkins should really be crowned the king archer. He is the most underrated player of lasalle, people dont notice it, but he impacts the game in many ways. He really plays like z-bo.

In the case of Ateneo, I hope they dont fire Perasol if Ateneo does not make the final 4 this year or flop in the final 4. He is a really good coach who has the respect of the players. They run great offensive sets, even saw them run the elevator set of GSW. Buenafe is a special talent, who sees the game 2 steps ahead of everyone. If he could just improve his conditioning he will be a beast, even in the PBA.

Sad that the game had to end with an ugly scene with Perasol and a fan.

The referees have nothing to do with Parks bricking multiple wide open 3 point shots.

Parks uaap rivals arent romeo kiefer and roi.. Its Newsome and Perkins if he can outplay and limit the two NU will be champs..

ok. great comments... panoorin nio na lang un cgro makikita nio parks or imports with great skills or gifted athletes always bleed for their points compared to
ordinary/good players...

ordinary players gets the call when they are fouled-ok...
imports or gifted athletes will get the call 1 out of 4 based on my observation...

so many blocking fouls and hand checks etc still the refs are so blind to call it coz they want a close/exciting game which is bad coz in that case they were the ones deciding the outcome of the game and not the players...

Lumang tugtugin na yang blaming the refs. All teams have their own fair share of horrible officiating. Point is, Parks keep missing jump shots even if he's wide open. Sometimes he gets to the basket but fails to finish.

And refs wanting to make games interesting? What sort of BS is that? If this is true then there shouldn't be any blowouts anymore, ADMU-FEU ring a bell? All UP games should be decided by 10pts or less if the refs really want to make all games interesting.

No excuse for Parks. For a supposed NBA material he can't even dominate a measly league like the UAAP.

UAAP refs aren't the best ones in the business..They are also the ones calling the shots in our league and talk about officiating leverage on good players and bad players.. hehe nandyan yan but it should not be an excuse of performing below expectations no matter how high it is for some hehhe:cool:

Who was the last coach of Ateneo to have lost its two regular season games against LaSalle (final 4/finals not included)?

i have no idea where you got this from...i'll give you a rundown of the top 5 in the SP race: Mammie, Abdul, Parks, Mbe, Sumang...the first 4 fit what you call "parks or imports with great skills". yes they are not "dominating" the league per se but they get their fair share of calls or non-calls. simply put, he is just not as into playing in NU as he was the previous years.

anyway, when was the last time, if at all, that a pure foreign player won the MVP in the UAAP? Mammie is leading the race but due to his suspensions he is disqualified so technically karim abdul is now mvp leader with 3 games to go.

Of the 5 guys (Mammie, Abdul, Parks, Mbe, Sumang), Roi Sumang is the only full pinoy blooded.

American Anthony Williams in 1981 won the MVP for FEU. Led the FEU Tamaraws to 3-peat from 1979-1981. Two out of those 3 titles they swept the UAAP.

Joe Lipa back in 2001.

mrjumbo03 is right, the 2005 losses of Ateneo vs La Salle were forfeited.

But still they were able to make it to the 2001 Finals. That year they had a hot shot recruit from the San Beda Red Cubs. A guy named LA Tenorio, You will find similarities from 2001 to this 2013 season with another hot shot recruit they acquired named Jerie Pinggoy from FEU.
