Turkey NT 2013

Your roster strength according to TheSportCity.Net fantasy prices is the third highest in the tournament as summarized here.

That prices are junk.
Luka Zoric 6150, Semih Erden 12400:confused: Ender Arslan 6100:):)...

Of course we can............ if we throw Ender and Omer Onan off the plane on the way to Slovenia. I guess that's what Janketa thinks.

I hate them as players(not personaly) and as symbols of wrong and failed understanding of basketball, but I dont' want anything bad to happen. Much better way is if Tanjevic remove them from roster, but that's imposible, and in the end he will be loser just like those two idiots.

Our roster will be (looks like):

PG: Ender Arslan, Barış Ermiş, Doğuş Balbay
SG: Sinan Güler, Ömer Onan
SF: Hidayet Türkoğlu, Emir Preldziç
PF: Ersan İlyasova, Kerem Gönlüm
C: Ömer Aşık, Semih Erden, Oğuz Savaş

From that team I would only prefer Serhat Çetin in place of Ömer Onan.

Is there any highlights of our games in Spor Toto Cup? Video/s of the whole games will be even better! :D

Looks pretty solid. A bit over age in some positions, but I prefer older experienced players rather than young talents.
It looks very good on the Center and PF position, good on the SF position and average in the guards position.

i dont think so.Kenan Sipahi will definately be in the roster instaed of Ender or Baris and maybe Serhat cetin too.If i were Tanjevic i'd send Ender and Omer home. And In my opinion Ersan should play SF
We have a strong tough tall team.If this team had an average makeplayer there would be no reason for medal

Dogus-Sinan-Ersan-Kerem-Asik is my ideal 5

hopefully we can gain olimpiad visa,at least.

It's World Championships next year, not olympics.

Sipahi instead of Arslan and Cetin instead of Onan, yes, but only in our dreams...
Tanjevic lost his mind and coaching ability to judge what is best for his team.

After your latest victories and Greece's subpar Ulm tournament, Turkey seems to be the favorite to win Group D. What do you guys think?

IMO we have to wait for the tournament to start and to judge who is better and who is not. After all it's just a preparation games, nothing more.

We still have some room to improve with the proper rotation imo.
We can do extremely well against soft teams, but if another team defends as well as we do, we face lots of problems.

Tanjevic, since '09 does quite well imo. we won't be seeing Sinan Güler at PG in the tournament probably, and we haven't seen any zone performed in prep games which has been the backbone of our defense.

I still don't know who'll be our back-up PG.
I'm surprised to admit that we need Ender Arslan. The team seemed better at intervals when he held the ball. He has become better at dictating the tempo and is good at high pick and rolls.

I'm pretty sure that we'll be going to the second round and I'm quite optimistic about QFs.
Looking forward to the matchup with Greece.

I don't think we are the favorites to win the group however.
I just don't want to see any sad surprises like losing vs Poland last EC.

After the loss of key players of Russia and Italy, imo we stand 2nd position in the group. Finland is a good team and in a good shooting night they have potential beating any team in the group.
I believe what we lack at the moment is consistent 3 point shooting. Therefore we need Serhat Cetin in the roster but I am afraid we won't see him.
I wish we can have Kenan Sipahi in the roster as well but Tanjevic won't pick him up. If he still wants to use Sinan Guler as a PG some part of the game then I believe we don't need Baris Ermis or Dogus Balbay and we can pick Kenan Sipahi or Serhat Cetin in the team...

Sinan never played as PG either in 2009 or in 2010. But Tanjevic always used him as a PG in prep games.
Kenan Sipahi cannot contribute more than 10 mins imo. I agree with you on Serhat Çetin. We need him.

I have no idea what'll be our final roster.

I admit that there is improvments in Ender Arsan game. We need Serhat Cetin and Kenan Sipahi. But everything is useless when you have ass in the team who with his 35 years think he is player who can win the match. Against Serbia in crutial moments he again shooted and missed when the matter, and in the end he was the best scorer with 11 pts but Turkey lost, just like Fener against strong teams last season, same story.

until last sentence, I thought you were talking about Hedo. :p

I am optimistic about our team not because of the good rhtyme we got in the last matches but because we are one of the teams who retains its core from EC 2011,where we lost all our matches in small margins in the group of death in the second stage. There was no true play-maker in that team(Tunceri was injured even if he was on court).I strongly believe Tanjevic hides Ermis for that role and he will prevail.Imo Kenan Sipahi definitely would be there, great court vision and passer, even he gets 10 minutes for 3rd pg he will contribute to have a great ball distribution.I think Serhat Cetin also should be in the 12 man-squad instead of Omer Onan, but that's too radical for Tanjevic,i'm sure he won't do that.
All in all,i expect a positive surprise from us.Great defensive team, the success will depend on guards' creativity and shooting for the medal.

I just feel happy when he runs for the fast break, not because he scores but because he gets tired in the end.

I don't really understand why they called Sipahi up. First thing comes to mind is they thought Ermiş is not enough. Then, why is Tunçeri not in the team? It makes me think Sipahi was decided to be in the squad anyway. Before U18 EC even started.
Then Barış Ermiş was on TV along with Barbaros Akkaş few days ago.
Also, TV commentators make him look like he's in the team 100%

This is all strange.
Normally, young players get called to the NT and leave like 10 days before the tournament.
I would really love seeing Ermis as our playmaker but i'm feeling like it's not going to happen. He played all time in prep games like a trash-time player. Haven't seen his prowess in PnR in work, he just dribbles w/o a point and ends up in awkward positions.

It's like there's a conspiration against him, players seem like not really cooperating with him. :)

Arslan
Onan/Güler
Turkoglu/Preldzic
Ilyasova/Gönlüm
Aşık/Erden/Savaş

We got 2 spots and 3 candidates.
Maybe Ermiş's spot is guaranteed and he'll be in the team but he's not really the part of the core.
I'm looking forward for the official annnouncement.

He is not 35:-) Hedo is legend of Turkish basketball. Maybe someone doesn't like him but his career is for respect and he was allways talented player.

Ermis subject is really strange. At the very beginning i was pretty sure he would be our main pg.In Slovenia,he was and he showed how capable he is.But then strangely we never saw him as a main player, even some people doubt he would be in the last 12.But i have an explanation for this situation. Tanjevic uses preparation matches only for experimenting.I'm not defending, that's his style.Using Guler for pg or playing Erden or Savas as 4.He also loves keeping hidden tactics for the tournament. I think he already realized that Ermis is the main guy in Slovenia. That's only an opinion though, i maybe wrong of course.

I would really love to see him in an extended role in this EC.
And i have great hopes for him this year with Obradovic.
I agree with you on Tanjevic method. He always does it. That's why I'm satisfied with our performance so far. With the addition of his "secret weapons" we should fare better than 2011.
