Summer Signings and Rumours vol. IV

Tarence Kinsey released by Cleveland, and may be on his way to acquiring a Turkish passport apparently. Fenerbache has already made him an offer for 1.5 million.

Tarence already has Turkish passport from what I've heard! Actually he is the reason why Tanjevic didn't include Kuqo in this year's national team. He wants to fill the void left by Kutluay and Erdogan at the shooting guard position with an American, and apparently Kinsey is the guy. National teams can have only one naturalized player on th eroster, so Tanjevic is replacing that spot previously filled by Kuqo, with Tarence Kinsey. Bu not this year anyway. 2010 is Turkey's main goal, as their federation president said earlier this week in an interview, this year's european championship is only a preparation phase for next year's World's Championship! I think he's just trying to make excuses in advance, in case Turkey fails to do something positive in Poland, so he has something to say to Turkish media, who's ripping him everyday. It's amazing how this guy, together with Tanjevic, is screwing around for years with Turkey's unbelievable potential! They're killing Turkey's basketball and so far, nobody in that country is doing anything about it

p.s sorry for the long post, half of this stuff doesn't belong here. I hope I don't get punished for it;-)

Barcelona offered a considerable (very considerable) amount of Euros:-) plus Jordi Trias to Baskonia, for Mirza Teletovic

Querejeta said NO, the moment he heard Mirz.....

btw: this happened last week. The info came kinda late, but I thought it still deserved to be mentioned

If Barcelona so despertly needs a big guy, we can sell them Vranes for reasonable amount :D:D:D

No passport yet. He needs to decide first if he wants it and is willing to play for Turkey.

hi guys

first of all , kinsey doesn't have turkish passport. and possibly turkey will not pick up another foreign player for national team. so many people don't want it. (neither do i)

other approach for fenerbahce ulker is to cancel marques green's contract , rumours say also devin smith's contract will be terminated.. so kinsey can be a very good move for fenerbahce ulker but i think 1,5 million is a little bit high for kinsey , because if i'm not wrong Gordan was playing for 1,8 million last year.hmmm i should say gordan was not playing but got 1,8 million :)

That's a pretty good observation Rex. I wouldn't include Tanjevic there though, simply because I don't think his intentions are bad. However, Turgay Demirel is an a.hole. He has strong connections both at Fiba and among local organizations. That's why he and his utterly useless group of sidekicks (Dogan Hakyemez, Esat Yilmaer, etc) can continue screwing Turkish bball.

Last year, before Kinsey left Turkey for NBA, there were rumors about his inclusion to national team for EC2009. I had even started a thread about that. But later the idea was forsaken i guess.

To spanish guys:

Is it true that Baskonia has rejected to send Herrman's contract to the ACB office, just so Unicaja can't excercise their derecho de tanteo? Until when does Malaga have the option of matching Baskonia's offer?

It's true. They announced the deal like it was done, but that was a mistake. Unicaja has derecho de tanteo on him and they requested to the ACB the contract so they can decide if the will match the offer.

Baskonia's move is now to reject to send the contract saying that the player didn't signed yet. We will see how it ends. Baskonia is trying to delay the deal to see if Unicaja signs another PF. Unicaja is trying to force Baskonia to pay a "buyout" for Herrmann's derecho de tanteo.
