if there's one company aside from SGA that had the audacity to put a Php billions to their respective basketball team

is that Zambo team financed by those billionaires who owns one of SouthEast Asia's biggest(?) canned sardines makers

and one of Australia's biggest(?) Accounting firm MLV Accounting who is part of the US based MLV Group

a diversified multinational company who is involved primarily in construction, project management, engineering, accountancy among others.

if the Pineda's are well known as mainland Luzon hardcore basketball fan, the Navarro's and Venezuela's are their counterpart down South

I think those two conglomerates are still very much interested to join the PBA until now.

if it pushes thru, they had a grand plan to lure some of those blue chp hafus to form that core aside from tapping those young talented Zambo natives

hmm Kamaka Hepa, Remy Macaspac Martin, Boogie Ellis, Jarod Lucas, Ron Pizarro Harper Jr., Nate Pierre-Louis are just few hafus I've known

that are currently playing professionally outside the NBA.

also Malik Diouf are still very much interested to be naturalize to join his college rival and buddy AK34.

well Philippine basketball landscape outside Gilas and PBA needs some fresh air to entice a different kind of narrative

esp. to those Filipino basketball fans like me.

SGA still trying to acquire an import who plays the wing position (it seems DJ Fenner's availability is still in question).

They just got malachi richardson and terry larrier to go along with justine sanchez. Imo they need another pg to backup brickman unless they fully convert ynot into one or give more playmaking duties to abando and dave ildefonso.

At Abando's size, some playmaking duties would be beneficial to his development as a player.

dave is the better playmaker than abando. so probably dave will do that..

Last year they had 3. The import who got injured in the last game, Heading who played 1 and 2 and Cagulangan. It seems to me Brickman is the only sure facilitator in that team. Maybe I'm missing something.

Havent really followed pba much but is mikey williams without a team right now? Wasnt it sga already tried to get his services last year back but was turned off by his unprofessionalism or am i remembering something else? Might be another Mikey but yeah they need another pg. Not sure if brickman can still play heavy minutes at his age now.

Brickman can still be an effective contributor. He can steady the pace of the game. About 25 mins of playing time could be ideal. He’s younger than Newsome and can become a valuable piece for a title chasing team such as SGA. I fancy him joining SMBeer next year and doing pick and roll plays with Junemar.

As for Mikey, yes he could be a good addition in short gig for SGA but I doubt any PBA teams would gamble on him considering his unpleasant history with his previous PBA team…

TNT still has Mikey's rights but there have been contract disputes since April 2023. So Mikey doesnt have a team for almost 2 years now.

i think once signed this is a precursor of Mikey committing to the PBA again and maybe trade his rights to Converge.

Cash prize last time was $1M.

But as is with "rich dudes," you get to mingle with other rich dudes and build relationships and "cred." With this, you get to have a seat at the table with world level rich dudes. Unquantifiable but priceless if done right.

And it also builds your brand in basketball crazy Philippines. Not to mention, these particular owners are passionate about basketball themselves.

The SGA team looks too top heavy for me. They have 4 centers. Not stretch mobile centers mind you but old school slow ones. They dont have an SF the level of Roberson who can play PF as well. Of the 4 it is only Kouame who I can imagine running to the perimeter on defense but he is not even as speedy as he was in his prime. Richardson looks 6'4 or 6'5 without shoes but has a 7 ft wingspan. Larrier is taller but is a bean pole.

That dubai oil money.

maybe they'll give the winner some change (in relation to their actual money) but highly doubt they'll give them significantly big cash. this tournament has been on going for years and seeing who participate, its doesnt look like its a break the bank to get players to win tournament. except for SGA.i mean, Mighty use to send a team here before and even if they did have imports, it wasnt like this.
