When Coach Rajko Toroman finally announces his final line-up, I am hoping it would be near what NCC Head Coach Ron Jacobs said was an ideal combination which is 2 point guards, 3 off guards and 2 small forwards (shooters and slashers), and 5 big men but where all the players are flexible and could actually change positions at a given situation or a particular game.

Point Guards
Jimmy Alapag
Jayvee Casio
Off Guards
James Yap
Marcio Lassiter
Chris Tiu
Small Forwards
Kelly Williams
Mac Baracael
Big Men
Marcus Douthit
Asi Taulava
Greg Slaughter
Japeth Aguilar
Jay Washington

but I could opt for Ryan Reyes over Jay Washington for a better defensive team even though a bit smaller at the front court, the team becomes bigger in the back court thus Ryan playing as an Off Guard with Marcio switching to a Small Forward while Kelly joining the Big Men.

IMO the real key here is to get as many credible big men as possible(not a whole big man lineup)..getting Williams and Washington to beef up the forward spot is something our NT should have...I'm even thinking of getting Thoss just in case Asi Taulava's Skelan medication doesn't work during game day.

Fred Uytengsu already said it straight to MVP's face that he is not going to loan his players. He was very frank and confident in saying, 'nothing personal, its just purely business'. MVP understood and accepted the matter, no discussions needed.

well if that's the case then let's settle for Washington and Williams.

i think maybe james yap is not a sure thing . First he needs to impress coach rajko and play consistent basketball this conference even with their "bwakaw" import playing alongside with him especially when bmeg plays gilas :D or else toro boy might be force 2 stick with dylan or lutz...

Good thing the PBA tomorrow is at Ynares in Antipolo. I get to avoid EDSA which will be a traffic bottleneck for sure.

nardy's suggested line up is quite good given all the limitations we have right now in forming a competitive line up. versatility in the guard positions. all can shoot 3s! whoa. let us just hope that our bigs could hold their own against the competition. well, let's hope for the best guys. that's all we can do for now... happy freedom day everyone!

Like this lineup but our point guards are very small, could use a ryan reyes for a jayvee casio although jayvee is one of the most consistent players but maybe two small PG can be a liability its a hard decision though

We can use Tiu as the big Point Guard.

I think Tiu is good enough to be a reserve 1 or 2, he's a smart player and when he plays well, He is good enough to carry a good amount of the offense.

Problem w/ SOME press people is that it seems more impt to get a SCOOP than to get the TRUTH. That's why don't believe everything you read.

Good luck to Gilas today. I'm quite excited to watch them play again. Haven't seen them with Douthit in the lineup since Invtl last year.

No offer yet for Barrios, Loyzaga

June Navarro
First Posted 08:30:56 24/02/2011

MANILA—The top names being floated as possible replacement for Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas executive director Noli Eala have yet to receive official word that they are being considered for the post.

Reports said former PBA commissioner Renauld “Sonny” Barrios and PSC commissioner Chito Loyzaga are the top names in the short list of possible successor for the resigned Eala.

But “nobody from the SBP has approached me,” said Barrios. “It was only in the Internet and the newspapers that I learned I’m a contender.”

Loyzaga, a former PBA star, said he has yet to receive an offer.

“We all know that the SBP executive director is a very sensitive position and plays an important role in the organization,” said Loyzaga.

“And since majority of the Filipinos have basketball close to their hearts, I think it would be best if we give the leadership and the SBP the needed time to review and evaluate the potential candidates they have on their list.”

Full throttle all the way

Full throttle all the way

I hope the coaching team has enough smarts to use all available players to play at full speed, full hops for 48 minutes against TNT. This can be easily done if 11-12 players are used. This should give us watching fans some kind of diagnostics on the state of athleticism of the players today.

It will also be very good exercise for PBA teams, which are very notorious for not playing at the intense athleticism and speed that modern international basketball is played today.

Okay, let's replay that word: MODERN.

And, let's replay again that word: MODERN.:)

Its GAME TIME!!!!!

damn i heard the commentators saying they love barroca's decision making during the pre game drama..:p lol

oh i smell blood in chris tiu vs ryan reyes match up..
