chot already announce the 7 other players

1. Matt ganuelas
2. Kevin Alas
3. Garvo Lanete
4. RR garcia
5. Justin Melton
6. J. Pascual
7. R. Pascual

It's possible Chot will opt to use mainly the pool players still playing in the semis (TNT, Alaska, Ginebra and San mig) maybe add Fajardo in the All star game in davao then for the Sharks game the next day use 7 PBA players eliminated plus 3 cadets (maybe Rosser, Alas and RR)

This is an often overlooked factor – injury due to wear and tear. Taking a cue from the NBA playoffs – Kobe 10 plus consecutive playoffs never injured- out for the playoffs, Westbrook- 300 + consecutive games - surgery out indefinitely. It’s no surprise why the Spurs have a history of resting players in the regular season to be ready at the right moment. There is no denying wear and tear does have a significant influence on the risk of injury at the worse moments. This is a significant risk for PBA players due to its prolonged season (10 months), especially for teams (TNT) that go deep into the playoffs regularly. Success this August hinges on our best players being a 100% come August (remember Danny Siegle 2002 Busan). I see it as a significant benefit that the following NT pool members haven’t played significant games this past year and are fairly rested – Marcus, Greg, Fajardo, Jap , David. Now hopefully with ROS eliminated Gabe and Chan can also recover and have a strong build up towards August. It goes without saying if TNT and Ping goes deep into the finals it could have an adverse impact on players health and being 100 % fit come August.

We have half of the training pool that are well rested with players anxiously waiting to play again this time for flag and country (Douthit, Kelly, Aguilar, David, Chan, Fajardo, Slaughter and Norwood). That are 8 players out of the total 17 and if TNT gets booted out in the semis that is another 6 players free.

Kelly will come back on the first week of July and that's the earliest but this time around he is progressing well and on his way to getting clearance from the doctor to play.

Obviously it’s the Sharks game that has more value in terms of NT preparation than compared to the PBA All star game. The Sharks are a real team, not a composition of individual stars (which is what we have with the PBA all stars), plus obviously players in the semis will be resting . Given this if I had my way my preference is to use the following players vs the Sharks - Marcus , Fajardo, Jap, Greg ,Gabe, Chan, David and Castro (hopefully TnT allows this) . The Sharks game is expected to be taken with some seriousness , with teams playing defense) it’s doubtful non MVP teams playing in the semis would allow their players to be exposed to a serious game. The All star game on the other hand is just that “an all star game” little or no defence is expected, especially from the players still playing in the semis. ( this is like a 5 man drill for the NT , not even 5 on5 scrimmage value) as such it really has no value for the NT preparations. Purely just for the fans.

Oh, really? That's welcome news! What's your source?

Agree with you. It's the Gilas vs. Shanghai Sharks exhibition game who really has more bearing as far as the national pool preparation is concerned. The Gilas vs. PBA all-star game would hardly replicate the international game. Whereas, I think the Shanghai Sharks would really replicate the style of game of our would be opponents in August.

How much the ticket cost for the Shanghai Sharks vs Team Gilas Pilipinas game?

That would be helpful especially to Gilas that game is international flavor and fiba rules type of game. So far I have a thinking that Chot would go for Douthit, Aguilar and Norwood up front and Castro with David in the back court unless something bad happens to these players like an injury or illness.

What I can also assure you Pingris, Chan and De Ocampo will be in the Fiba Asia Championships playing together as a team. We have a long way to go in terms of preparation.

Here in our home soil with the bands, drums coupled with the rowdy, raucous, roaring and deafening crowd our Pilipinas team will win the 27th fiba asia championships after 28 years.

Pls no drums in fiba Asia , that would be annoying

indeed, it is very likely that no national players from d final 4 teams will be tapped for d sharks game.

there is no need to compare as each of these exhibition games has their own value.

at the same time, neither are really that important. in reality, we can scratched these games from d gilas schedule and it would not matter much.

but at this point (3 months prior to d big games), any exhibition game for d nationals is a good activity, regardless of d quality.

games on june and especially on july should be another matter.

I do think however consistent with Alaska’s request that Thoss does not participate in “contact 5 on 5 preparations” , teams whose NT pool players are still playing in the current conference (the semis) would be reluctant to allow them to play in the Sharks game, that will involve 5 on 5 contact (the Sharks will actually play defence and won’t simply allow themselves to be embarrassed, even if it’s an exhibition game) . The All star game on the other hand will have no defensive schemes whatsoever and the teams in the semis playing in those games will certainly be taking it easy especially on the defensive end .
Since both games will be played still 3 months away from August , we can’t expect much , however from simply a fans perspective following the NT, the Sharks game certainly will give us a better glimpse of how the players use the DDO to score against an honest defense. The all star game on the other hand will simply be a shooting drill running the DDO against token defense. If I had to pay money to watch either game, I'd rather watch the Sharks game.

I guess you can get injured even without playing :)
Talk ‘N Text’s Jared Dillinger involved in vehicular accident, out for Game Two against Ginebra

Talk ‘N Text forward Jared Dillinger was involved in a vehicular accident on Saturday morning and will miss Game Two of his team’s Commissioner’s Cup semifinals series against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel on Sunday.

“It was a car accident that happened after the game,” said Tropang Texters coach Norman Black.

Dillinger was not present at Talk ‘N Text practice on Saturday.

In the series opener, Talk ‘N Text played without Kelly Williams, who is out indefinitely because of an illness, and Ali Peek.

Dillinger’s agent Charlie Dy said the player told him that he was at home recuperating and that the accident was “nothing serious.”

Black said the team will miss Dillinger’s presence in the second game of the best-of-five series.

“It will definitely be a big loss for us. We have dealt with a lot of adversity this conference so we will just have to overcome. [Aaron] Aban and [Bam] Gamalinda will have to step up,” he said.

And watching a Philippine team play against another race has more bearing than watching it play against a fellow Filipino team. What's the big deal Filipinos beating fellow Filipinos?
