Ricky Rubio of the Philippines?

Before, it was TY Tang and Chris Tiu. I mean, they were like the Xavier Grade School team core. Now, I think it's that Agovida kid of JRU. But I think Keifer Ravena's next in line. He's a sophomore/junior HS in AHS and he's doing wonders for the Blue Eaglets.

ricky rubio was exceptional...he dominated the FIBA U-1*** in Europe first before he was heavily considered in their senior NT.right now, we only have Gabe Norwood who wasn't a pro but made it straight to our NT but no signs of a kid who's in the mold of a "ricky rubio program", someone (a teenager) who is being developed to participate in a big men's league.

no one because Filipinos can be better than Ricky Rubio if they aspire to be better rather than imitating a foreigner

possible, the Philippines has the best guards in Asia as of now, probably Japan and Kazakhstan are in there as well, problem is, the school system here is mainly pf and c base, when you are a kid and are 6'2, 13 years old, your highschool team plays you at the c even though you body is made for the pg to sf, its actually a shame, Ive seen a few Filipinos do this, the tallest player runs the floor better than anyone but he is placed at the pf spot even though his passing skills are made for the guard spot.

The reason why Spain, France, Italy, Lithuania have the best young talent, is because, they allow teenagers as young as 14 to play in their professional league. That's why in an early age, their players play at a high level already. And thats the reason why many of our players are late bloomers when it comes to decision making and playing bigtime basketball.

No one at that age plays in the major european leagues proffesionally.

our neighbor ervin enrique rubio. he's fondly called ervin rubio in the neighborhood but we can call him ricky if we want to. he's a professional too but not a basketballer but a school teacher.

Only a few players (less than 10 for sure) in history have played significant minutes in the spanish league before turning 17, none at 15 like Rubio did.
