greeks shouldn't be so negative. with slovenia you had most absentes and did ok

add here spanoulis, sofo and some youngs like pappas, chrysikopoulos and you done great change of generations without to much problems. and that must happen sometimes. might be bad because it happend in pre olyimpic year, but look now italy who forced their vets to long. only thing i don't like is coach. not my taste guy who forces rotations to much, few times you were on row and your coach changed something

Congrats to France. Hope you'll take the gold.

Now, my 2 cents for the game and why we lost.

1. 50% 3pt
2. Some crazy shots made by DeColo keep them in the game in the first half.
3. That 5pt shot changed the momentum. Until then, France struggled to tie the game but every single time we had the answer.
4. Although Zouros setup the team perfectly and led french out of their game, he made some crucial mistakes on 4th quarter. He left his best player out of the court for 5:30 minutes!! He didn't use Kaimakoglou as SF with his low post moves that was so successful during 3rd quarter. And last but no least, he used Vasileiadis (our weakest D) for the last 2 minutes on Battum (the second threat after Parker)! And he scored 2 easy baskets (actually, also the 3 points from the 5pt shot are Vasileiadis mistake, where he admires (?!?) Parker and leaves Batum alone in the corner)

Finally, the refs were fine. 1-2 mistakes are human.

everyhing seems right (except the last sentence)...i rest my case

so once again:D

zouro's obsession has to do with rotating the team all the time...even if we are talking of tournament of few matches.....there are few bsk players that can actually find a rythm playing this way

Greece lost due the referee's decitions , greece was robbed.

you're really one of a kind :D

Ok, this didn't surprise nobody. The sad thing is that eventually, looking back to the match, I see what a big chance this was to reach the semis...

No reason to cry about anything...the team has proven it's worth without 7 players that each of them could be on the starting line-up.

With Spanoulis, Big Sofo and Perperoglou returning, and some of the current youngsters matured, I think we do have a chance of maintaining our high level in the future...

If Greece can somehow upset Serbia you can expect some stars coming back to play at the Olympic qualifiers next year

They would mostlikely qualify and be a medal contender next year, this game could really change things and be very big for Greece

Zouros things that if he stops rotating, the earth will stop rotating. It's like that Keanu Reeves movie, if his stops, his head will explode.

So, if you are one of those Greek players who are not playing, what are you gonna be thinking about?
DD - well it was a good thing I was scratching my balls all summer long and not playing instead.

VS - I'm the best greek player around. Galis was nothing. btw. does my hair
look good?

SS - ...mmmmmmmm McDonalds...

LM - ............................ (emtpyness)

Congratulations to France. They could do it even better, but it was not worth the effort for the weak Greek team. I hope Serbia kick their a$$ and we play the finale with them. :D

I read that some people want to have Vasilopoulos and Peperoglou back to the team?

Vasilopolous is a goal keeper and not a basketball player. The ability to dribble a basketball should be a hard requirement for any player that wants to join the greek national team.

In addition I like Bramos much more than Peperoglou. Bramos is a real SF and not a softball player like Stratos. Give Bramos a spot in an Euroleague team next season and he will develop to a hell of a player.

Regarding Vasiliadis, it is a very seldom occasion that a new player has a big impact in his first tournament. Vasiliadis should have been integrated into the team a long time ago and he should stay in, the next years.

Congratulations to France! If you would not have won this one, you could call yourself the biggest loosers of the planet.

you really haven't figured out how the competition system works, have you? :p

Calathes will never be as good as DD or VS are. We dont have decent guards right now. As for Bramos i think we shouldn't play to our NT. Also the Greek NT never had a trustfull Center. Right now Bourousis is doing more than ok and Koufos has a chance to shine. So the question is when are we going to enjoy both guards and centers.

Well, let's wait and see how Calathes will develop. He seems to work hard, so maybe..Also, do you remember how Bourousis was 6 years ago? He was the 12th man along with Vasilopoulos.

Well that is exactly what i said (he will shine). But we won't have guards.:)

I have the impression that bigmen C,PF need more time to develop while guards can reach much faster a decent level.

Actually, I want to show you that if Bourousis has become a different player in 5-6 years (he was't even in squad in 2006!), then maybe Calathes will be the next big thing of greek NT. Let's wait. But yes, in overall we don't have many talents in 1-2 positions.
