I'm not expecting to much that is why I will be very happy for at least a seminal or better yet a bronze finish, but I continue to hope and pray that we go through the finals. :)

I disagree with your views on Japeth. If you look at the replay, Japeth has been very helpful in the defense side. It was in the second quarter and most of the 4th quarter when Iran was really able to beat us and that was the time when Japeth was benched. During the time Japeth was in, we were able to play almost even with them. As a matter of fact, Japeth made very spectacular blocks including a block on Hadadi. I believe he is one of the top 2 blockers in this competition.

I think the problem with the game with Iran was that Toroman instructed the team to go to Douhit for the offense. That backfired as Douhit was not playing well at that time and he aptly covered by Iran. Due to that, Douhit was also not able to help in setting plays for the guards.

I still need to understand that with all the supposedly shooters in the team, none of them performed well. Lutz is supposed to be one the top 3 point shooters in US college basketball. We had Hontiveros, Lassiter and Tiu. Bacarael is als supposed to be a shooter (and not really has power forward moves). Maybe it was because we didnt have Casio to set up the plays. I hope the coaching team finds a way to solve this problem.

I still believe that we have the right set of players. We just have to make the right decisions.

7. Philippines(higher than 7th place would be a very good feat for Gilas, just for my expectation)
 
what palys casio set up a double high screen to feed his threes or a double high screen to feed douthit:eek:

Chris Tiu has been our silent top playmaker:D

but to be effective he must play the 2 with jayvee and Mark making a team with 2 pt guards at the same time
