Nickname: Tuck
High School: McClymonds HS (Coach: Dwight Nathaniel) Elder Massey (Redemption Academy)

The leading returning scorer (16.5) and rebounder (6.8) among all WCC players, Tucker can do it all... can score from anywhere, inside or out.

JUNIOR: A first team all-West Coast Conference selection for the second time in 2001-02...he became the first WCC player to average a double-double since former Don Darryl Johnson in 1992...again proved to be one of the WCC's top players, ranking third in the WCC in scoring (18.9 ppg) and leading the loop in rebounding (10.1 rpg)...in league play, he led the WCC in rebounding (10.7 the highest for a WCC player since Darryl Johnson in 1992) and was third in scoring. Moved up to 11th place in the USF career scoring list with 1,380, and by matching his junior scoring stats would move into second place, behind all-time leader Bill Cartwright (2,116)...If he matches his junior total of 528 points, he will finish with 1,908...he led USF in scoring 17 times and led the team in rebounding in 24 contests...recorded WCC best 17 double-doubleswas named WCC player of the week after USFs late December wins (including Michigan) and after the St. Marys contests on Jan. 16-19also ranked among WCC leaders in field goal percentage (46.6%-8th), free-throw percentage (77.6%-7th), 3-point percentage (38.4%-8th) and blocked shots (0.8-10th)...scored a career high 34 points against Portland last February 23rd

SOPHOMORE: Honorable Mention all-WCC selection...third in the WCC with 16.5 points per game and fourth in rebounding with 6.8...his field goal percentage (44.3%) and free-throw percentage (80.4%) are the best for all league returnees... had some monster games last year including 32 point, 15 rebound effort vs. Portland, 31 points, 11 rebounds vs. Fresno State and 29 point, 9 rebounds vs. St. Mary's ...MVP of the Northwestern Mutual Mayor's Game vs. Fresno State...scored 20 points or more 10 times last season.

FRESHMAN: First team all-WCC selection...tied with Gonzaga's Richie Frahm for league scoring lead, averaging 16.9 points per contest in league play...named WCC Freshman of the Year and WCC Player of the Month for February...first freshman to ever lead the league in scoring...ended the WCC regular season with six consecutive games scoring 20 points or better, setting his career high of 22 vs. Santa Clara on Feb. 16 and then matching that number vs. Santa Clara on the road (2/28) and Portland (2/25)...scored in double figures 19 times...sixth ranked shooter in WCC play at 52.4%...made 40% of his three-point shots, 46.2% in WCC play...USF's leading scorer in nine of 14 league games...fifth in the league in rebounding with 7.0...massive game in USF win at Fresno State with 15 points and 23 rebounds...called by USD coach Holland "the best freshman I have ever seen in this league"

HIGH SCHOOL: Selected as the Bay Area H.S. Player of the Year after his senior season by the San Francisco Examiner and Alameda Newspaper Group...as a senior averaged 24.3 points, 15.2 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3.2 assists and won over 30 awards...included were all-State, Northern California MVP and McDonald's All-American award...attended Redemption Academy in upstate N.Y. and averaged 27.5 points, 12.6 rebounds, 2.2 blocks

Anyone can confirm this if he is legit? A lot of clever guys here who can get to the bottom of his lineage. He surely can plug that 4 spot along with Kelly as his stats seem good enough.

Michael Rosaroso has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend D2 Chico State.

5/21/2010 3:06:35 PM
CHICO – Already boasting one of the top Division II prep recruiting classes on the West Coast, the Chico State men’s basketball team has added prolific shooter Mike Rosaroso to the fold. Rosaroso, the Delta League’s Most Valuable player as a senior at Sacramento’s Franklin High School last season, knocked down 131 career 3-pointers as a 3-year varsity starter. He signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Chico State earlier this month.

“We’re really excited to sign Mike,” said Wildcats Head Coach Greg Clink. “He’s a big-time perimeter shooter and a proven winner.”

Those familiar with the local prep scene may remember Rosaroso’s 25-point, nine-rebound, four assist-effort in a 76-74 overtime victory against Chico High School back on Dec. 5. The Wildcats went on to finish 26-6 and earn a berth in the Northern California Regional Playoffs behind Rosaroso’s team-high averages of 16.7 points, 3.6 assists, and 3.1 steals. The 5-foot-8 guard knocked down 48 3-pointers, shot 76 percent from three free throw line, and even pulled down 3.2 rebounds per game.

As much as the Chico State coaching staff was impressed by Rosaroso’s basketball ability, it’s his winning mentality that really won them over.

“The team’s Mike has led have won 71 games over the last three years,” said Clink. “He has a knack for running a team and putting his teammates in a position to succeed. He’s received outstanding coaching from Jesse Formaker and we’re really looking forward to him being a Wildcat.”

Rosaroso is the second Franklin High School product signed by Clink and his staff in the last two years. Amir Carraway, Rosaroso’s teammate two years ago, will be a redshirt freshman on the team this season.

Rosaroso joins Jordan Barton (Bishop O’Dowd), Nate Appel (De La Salle), and Jordan Semple (Arcata High School) in the Wildcats’ acclaimed 2010 prep recruiting class.

2010 Fullcourt Press Spring League
There are many talented players participating. Below are several of those top performers:

Enes Kanter 6’11” 2010 Stoneridge Prep (Simi Valley CA)
Kanter is a bigger post version of Tyler Hansborough and a man playing with boys at the high school level. Dominant interior player has great strength that allows him to overpower defenders inside and an underrated outside shot that makes him a tough match-up. Kanter had committed to Washington in December but it appears that his recruitment has opened up and Kentucky is now making a major push (visited the Wildcats last month). Scored 31 points against CABC.

Cezar Guerrero 6’0” 2011 St. John Bosco (Bellflower CA)

Creative point guard sat out this season after transferring back to his original high school and CJ did not waste time lighting up the scoreboard. Cezar scored 37 points vs. West Coast Academy and also displayed pin-point passing ability (dished out 7 assists).

Tshilidzi Nephawe 6’9” 2010 Stoneridge Prep (Simi Valley CA)

Mammoth PF is very physical in the paint and is a deceptively good post scorer on the block.

Steve Thornton 6’6” 2010 Stoneridge Prep (Simi Valley CA)

Agile swingman is capable of knocking down three-point shots with regularity as well as finishing his acrobatic drives to the basket.

Kevin Panzer 6’8” 2010 Capistrano Valley (Mission Viejo CA)

Very good student has the size and range on his jump shot to be a coveted spring signee.

Garrett Frick 6’7” post Air Force Prep/Santa Monica CA

Skilled combo-forward with accuracy on his three-point shot attended Air Force Prep in Colorado Springs CO this school year after a very solid high school career at Santa Monica HS but has decided to not pursue a military career path and is now looking for other D-I opportunities. Very good student and excellent young man.

Clint Bozner 6’7” 2010 Villa Park (Villa Park CA)

Scoring forward with much bounce has the strength to bang inside as well as the necessary range on his jump shot to venture out to the perimeter. Excellent student.

David Andoh 6’7” 2012 St. Teresa (San Jose CA)

Athletic combo-forward has great hands and footwork and is an emerging name in this Western and national class. Assertive rebounder and defender.

Daniel Cheek 6’3” 2011 Corona del Mar (Newport Beach CA)

Sleek off-guard is a very dangerous slashing scorer and has the length and speed to be an excellent defender. One of Orange County’s and SoCal’s most underrated junior prospects.

Brandon Porter 6’1” 2012 Pacific Hills (Los Angeles CA)

Athletic combo-guard is impressive on his drives to the cup (had one monster tomahawk dunk off the dribble that turned heads) and carries a very confident on-court persona.

Sharif Watson 6’5 2011 Rowland (Rowland Heights CA)

Rangy wing is long and athletic with a very underrated outside shooting touch. Scored 23 points in one of his league games last Sunday.

Christian Garrett 6’5” 2011 Oaks Christian (Westlake Village CA)

Crafty lead guard has very good size for a perimeter player (6’5” and still growing) and the basketball growth plate to continue to improve in all facets of his game. Very good student.

Tony Bell 6’4” 2010 Cabrillo (Long Beach CA)

Very improved unsigned senior wing can score in a variety of ways.

Chris Baxter 6’3” 2010 Verbum Dei (Los Angeles CA)

Efficient off-guard has nice ability to penetrate defenses and is also very successful in the classroom too.

Braiten Madrigal 6’3” 2012 St. John Bosco (Bellflower CA)

Sharp-shooting wing-guard is also an excellent student.

Jovan Pearson 6’5” 2011 Cabrillo (Long Beach CA)

Scrappy combo-forward plays with great energy on the defensive end.

Brandon Cunningham 6’1” 2011 Los Osos (Rancho Cucamonga CA)
Smooth combo-guard has a nice feel for the game.

Zach Pulig 6’3” 2011 Lakewood (Lakewood CA)
Solid wing is a consistently productive player.

Christian Verdugo 6’2” 2010 Cabrillo (Long Beach CA)

Savvy point with good length has a dangerous 3-point stroke.

Van Holloway 6’2” 2011 Righetti (Santa Maria CA)

Cerebral lead guard makes smart decisions and has a perimeter shot that must be respected.

Chass Bryant 5’10” 2012 Oaks Christian (Westlake Village CA)

Quick PG with potent scoring ability – pumped in 32 points in one of his league games last Sunday.

Rodny Mendes 6’2” post. San Joaquin Memorial (Fresno CA)
Strong Class of 2009 two-guard plays excellent defense and has nice spot-up shooting ability. College clock has not started yet.

Andre Newman 6’2” 2011 Ontario Christian (Ontario CA)
Versatile combo-guard is a fine passer and solid ballhandler.

Bo Abrams 6’7” 2010 Beverly Hills (Beverly Hills CA)

Rugged rebounder can score with his back to the basket.

Greg Karapoulios 6’5” 2013 Los Alamitos (Los Alamitos CA)

Hard-working post has soft hands and the work-ethic necessary to evolve into a player worth tracking.

Christian Wood 6’6” 2013 Los Alamitos (Los Alamitos CA)

Very long and wiry young “big” is extremely “raw” in many ways but has a nice shooting touch and the substantial upside for scouts to take notice. Together with Karapoulios, Los Al has a future front court with lots of promise.

Joe Covarrubias 5’11” 2014 Whittier CA
Cousin of Cezar Guerrero is slowly establishing his own scorers reputation (had 21 points in one of his league games last Sunday.

where did you get that? this what I read...he's not even shooting below 35% from the three point area..not bad for a 6'9 guy.
he was drafted in this years TOP or tournament of the philippines. PBL-Liga merger tournament set to start this June.

His name was listed among the draft hopefuls but was never mentioned to be drafted by any team. Has any team drafted him?

either his name was mentioned or he's not the Darrell Tucker we were expecting..I read somewhere that Tucker will be playing in Israel so I guess no PBL-Liga call ups.

A reliable source says former NCAA Div I player Shawn Weinstein who also played professionally in Israel is already in Cebu to play in Liga-Pilipinas. Watch out him in Tournament of Philippines

Weinstein

dude if possile pls capture his game on a video cam.;)
advance thanks.

Cebu Ninos won, i think it was a 14-point win just didnt get the exact score.

got a few videos of Shawn Weinstein and i would say that he is impressive!!!

*Weinstein is built like a Denver Lopez (slightly taller), and started the game at small forward... but he was playing more like the point forward... handles the ball pretty well, so aggressive going to the basket... fished a lot of fouls from driving inside... has the nose for the ball, and would chase for looseballs... had a block on Michael Luga's jumpshot in the first quarter, and ended the game with another shotblock off Jett Latonio... hit 3/4 free throws in the first quarter, but struggled on the line after halftime... hit also a three pointer in the third quarter... very good rebounder for his size, and at one point outrebounded 2 Mandaue Landmaster bigmen... pretty good team player, had a nifty behind the back assist on a fastbreak finish (caught on cam... to be uploaded tomorrow)... good defender/ball swiper....

overall, Weinstein could be a good combo guard in the PBA. he could be the second coming of Ryan Reyes!

hope he's got the quickness and shooting touch (and the hops) to compensate for his lack of size if he wants to make it to the Pros. Where will he play? TOP will be starting their season this June.

overall, Weinstein could be a good combo guard in the PBA. he could be the second coming of Ryan Reyes!

SG shoud get this guy.
