Travel with prepaid (by the league) charter flights... really.. how bad for them to have go trough the trouble of travel to earn millions.

Pro athletes are such crybabies..

If MTA will promote to the F4 in the Adriatic League, the F4 will be in Nokia Arena.

i'm so surprised about it
anyway i'm sure pargo will not play the f4 of adriatic league. hendrix yes...:) (my god!)

Its also reported that NLB will lease a plane for the whole year for Maccabi and the plane will take them from Euroleague games around Europe to the Adriatic games and from there to Israel!,thats crazy money.Only NBA teams have this privilege

And they will get hotel rooms with a jacuzi, chocolates on the piilow every morning and of course free minibar

Actually it's pretty closed. Anyone that has renewed their season tickets were asked to add 10% of the cost because Maccabi joined the Adriatic League.

Hope it'll change, but it seems like a sure thing.

So it happened, Maccabi will play in NLB.

Blatt was against it, majority of players were against it, but the golden calf (earning more more money) seduced the owners.

I like Adriatic League, but non-stop flights & games will kill Maccabi, like it happened in 2002.

Yea, I sick & tired of Maccabi BSL blow-outs , but why not organize some short 2-3 days tournaments when preparation to intense EL games is needed.

Let's say all teams that have a lack of competitive games in their leagues ( Oly, Pao, Siena , Maccabi ) will play each-other : problem solved without playing 3 games a week.

Blatt was against it

wait wait
i have doubt about it
blatt came back even if he had many oppostunities. he accepted to have just a top 16 team in el for the first year , a team that he trained in final. now , with his credits even grew up this year,do u really think he has a so low personality to accept something so important if he would not be agree?

they have choise to give pargo 1mln, but mainly ,they have choise to release hendrix
if best players go, and worse players will stay, future is signed

With better league and their budget they can sign basically anyone in Europe at this point. If current roster of spoiled brats is too arrogant to play in league where they'd actually play vs Euroleague/Eurocup opponents on weekly basis... trust me.. there's plenty of players from both sides of the pond that are willing to step in. I'd add.. even better players than the ones Maccabi currently have.

wait a minute :) Maccabi won't be receiving 2 millions € or $ from NLB :D
unless the new sponsors would replace and add 2+ millions more to the league,. which I honestly doubt as I've heard one of the 3 new major sponsors decreased it's share it was supposed to replace.
So far as far as I've heard it was Maccabi who was supposed to pay for the travels of all those teams to Israel and back...
Also, that would be completely against the philosophy of "cash bitches" in adriatic league board :) whoever is telling you that must be lying (or I am the one really suddenly that far away from the whole scenery over here)

Anyway... as majority of people over here I'd prefer to see an ex-Yu team in adriatic league, nothing personal... the league is just losing legitimacy by selling itself back and forth for few €...
On the other hand you can imagine beating Maccabi as this season's F4 finalist will become a priority list for wast majority of teams in the league and that won't do Maccabi no good.
You'll 99% have the best team out there, but playing 3 games per week, Maccabi will suffer on one front, either euroleague or adriatic league. Even if that won't be noticable by an individual, you will be never able to tell weather that'll be that one tiny factor that can make the whole season go wrong... (and yeah, it's all about the details)

Wish you guys good luck, but I believe both, Maccabi's and adriaticleague's management are getting a bit too greedy.

i bet mta will just play two games per week. the thirs game it will be play by another mta: burstein hendrix ely maybe foote, but anyway that is not mta. surely , because of el games plus an harder match like the adriatic one, our roster can t be a just 7player roster

Maccabi has the 3-rd option : to suffer on a front of Israeli league, at least before BSL final4 :D

Personally I won't expect Maccabi to concentrate too much on beating anybody that moves in NLB : it's enough to stay in top4 at the end of regular season.

Israeli league , I believe, would be used as some sort of playground for developing players ( Macvan, Foote, I hope Maccabi will bring in some Israeli prospect)

Regarding future Maccabi additions,

The most expensive player in the current roster is Pargo, so it's kinda expected that the team will be build around him and not the otherwise.

Watching Pargo for 3 years ( Galil, MTA ) , I'd say Jeremy perform better when he's is the sole leader & don't need the share the ball with anyone else:
Pargo was under shadow of Perkins before Perkins injury , just the same way his performance dropped when he had to share the ball with Gal Mekel in Galil.

Now, we have pretty solid guards rotation : Pargo, Sheyer, Halperin, Burstein + Smith . Pargo could play 30 min at PG, with Sheyer, Halperin, Burstein backing him up for 10 min at PG and covering 40 min of SG. Nobody among the above mentioned guards is a threat for Pargo's dominance, so he could shine .

Bringing another foreigner as a back-up PG could "cast a shadow" on Pargo , and break up the whole chemistry.

The only problematic spot for me is a SF : Smith is pig in a poke ( still unproven on EL level ), both Pnini & Blu can cover this spot, but both aren't athletic enough to stop SFs like Barca's Mickeal. I hope Blatt will find another diamond for this position in summer leagues, cause it could be a critical block for taking EL title.
