I was very nervous during the match :D and I can't remeber the stats :(

but if you ask about Vincent Jones, he fouled out after 35 mins and had an average day, referees awarded him many free throws and missed some of them ! except the FTs , he only had 2 or 3 easy dunks when Priest was out ! and I remember that he blocked Samad one time !

I can't compare them in general because Kevin Johnson is not a center, but if you want a center, Vincent Jones is better !

I didn't follow that match in 1st and 2nd quarter because of other semifinal but Kevin didn't play in 3rd and 4th quarter. they played with Mike Jones and Nestoras Kommaros ! and Jaber Rouzbahani (2.23) was their big man.

victory looked impossible when Petro led by 6 pts in last 2 mins and Oscar Yebra, Priest and Mehdi Kamrani were out !! but Atashi got 2 pts and Samad got 3 pts before his 5th foul ! (62-61) Madison had 2 FTs but missed one of them (63-61) but Mahram's reserve center, Hooman Rezaei got a foul-goal and made it (63-64). Hernol Hall missed the ball and they fouled on Sohrabnejad in last 9 sec. Sohrabnejad missed one of his FTs (63-65) ! Petro missed the ball , refs called it jump ball and gave it to Petro, Madison missed the ball in last second but refs incredibly called it as a foul :eek: but Mr Tony missed the last FT !

I like seeing those good, tight scores. The margins of victory in the SL play-offs are small: teams don't win by more than 10 points. I think that shows a very mature, very balanced league.

Since sunday I'm in Iran, I have to say that I am impressed by this country. In a good way of course.
I saw on TV the game Petro vs Mahram, a thriller interrupted by Mr. President. By the way it seems to me that the referees were the 6th player from Petro.
Tomorrow I go to Esfahan and it seems that my wish to see a match will came true. Zob Ahan vs Mahram in 23rd is it true ? Do you know something about tickets and could you tell me the adress of mellat complex sport ?

I am completely agree with you about Petro-Mahram match ! and Mr President interrupts everything here :D

yes, the first final is in Esfahan this thursday and the second is in Tehran next Monday. in our league base time is 17:00 but it can change because of TV schedule and according to TV website the final time is 15:30 ! but it is not official yet !

as i know , Esfahan's matches are free and their small Stadium always have many empty places ! but this match is final match and it may different !

if it is not free, tickets will be available at stadium some hours before the match as usual !

adress of Mellat sport complex is "Imem Khomeini street" , near the "Ghalamestan Park" !

Who could guess that ZobAhan will be in Iran SuperLeague Basketball Final in this season? For sure not too many people. When the season was being started, most of the fans and players and coached believed that Champion will be Mahram, Petrochimi or Saba. But two of these big teams were eliminated in Semi-Final last monday where Mahram could win Petrochimi in Mahshahr which is Petrochimi's Home. In the Most Interesting Game of season, Mahram and Petrochimi started their game and main result was 1-1, so the winner could go to Final and have a chance to be Champion. Mahram started great and with great defending on Tony Madison, the score was 21-10 on first quarter and game was in Mahram's hand , score got 37-48 for Mahram, BUT everything changed suddenly, Mahram scored just 3 and Petrochimi score 18 and was lead by 4 in 55-51 for Petrochimi. In last 2 minutes Petrochimi were up by 6 but great job of Mahram players and Coach Hashemi changed everything and Petrochimi lost the game by losing just one free throw on 64-65. So Mahram won the big game.

At the other game of Semi-Final, Surprising result occured. ZobAhan with young but experieneced players and coach Kouhian, won Saba which is one of the biggest clubs of Iran and Asia. Saba's players really couldn't do their good jobs and lost the game on 80-91 and ZobAhan passed Semi-Final game easily.

So, The Final Game will be 2 of 3 between Mahram and ZobAhan and the first game must be played in Esfahan. ZobAhan wants to prove that everything can be happened in Basketball and Mahram want to be in Asian Championship Cup by the name of Iran 2008-2009 Champion.

This is not a constant rule , this changes every year ! but this year , teams could sign new player till the start of 1st playoff match. (30 March, 2009)

I guess they don't change it for next year !

Mohammad Reza Akbari is on fire ! and Samad Nikkhah was the worst player !!

Zob led 33-23 but Hashemi changed their system and it worked ! Priest scored a lot but without him Mahram can play better today against a speedy team !
Kevin Johnson played around 5 mins, and he had 0pts, 0rebs, 3PF !!! he is not in shape ! also Jones had 0pts in 1st half :eek::eek:, Mahram marked him very well but Davoudi, Baheran, Akbari and Kommatos scored many times instead of him !

Zob led 87-83 in last 20 sec but an unbelievable mistake by Mike Jones helped Mahram ! Kamrani had 4 FTs in last 20 seconds and scored all of them !
Jones had 15 pts from 5 3pts shots but he fouled out in last 7 second !

and now, OVERTIME !

I was so impressed by the imports Mike Jones and Nestoras Kommatos today. They are both such skilled players.
