Wow what a (low scoring) performance for two teams touted for their offensive skills... Turkey with a 3 point win and Turkuglo with just 2 points?? Unbelievable. Congrats Turkey.

With this performance, Spain's confidence is further shook i don't know how they will survive in the knockout stages against the stronger teams..

Turkoglu played despite of injury problems today. Both Omer Onan and Engin Atsur were also not fully-fit...

did you hear that?

you hear what i hear?

Is dat Kanye?

ohhh shit yea he is.

He says "it s amazing "

yeah it s amazing..

Congrats Turkey..

Physical yes, but some decisions [by the players, not referees] were questionable. I didn't think it was a great game, even if the fighting was admirable.

But a great win nevertheless for Turkey, who showed they can win such a lowscoring contest. Spain is still in play for the title. But the quarter finals will be interesting.

Rubio is not ready to be starting point guard. He couldn't shoot worth anything and couldn't make plays for others.

Spain desperately needs Calderon.

We fully agree. If not Calderon, any other experienced playmaker would do. I am sure there are plenty in Spain.

For example, in Greece after Papa and 3D were officially out, Kazlauskas decided to get two players a young and an old. The most experienced decent play-maker we had in league, 31 year old Kalabokis and the young and promising supersonic Nick Calathes.

Maybe Kalabokis had never played for our NT before, but he has the experience needed to keep our squad going. At the same time Calathes and his talent is always there when needed.

So what did Scariolo do? Can't believe he decided an 18year old guy is the best play maker Spain has.

Even Jordan was not that good when he was 18! Come on!

congrats. it wasn't in serbia fashion as i thought, but ok... I hope Rudy gets a technical someday for all his intentional flopping and acting. The guy spends more time lying on the floor than standing on his legs. such a shame for a player that talented...

Italian football NT won the World Cup in 1982 after doing a horrible first group performance... but Spain is not Italy... and they are not playing football, but .. basketball?

Great game, lots of emotions.

But it was not a quality game, lots of mistakes from both sides.

But in the end of the day I still count Spaniards as a no 1 favorite to take the gold. Just can't see them playing this badly on offence for the rest of the tournament.

Turkey. I can not put my finger on it but I don't think this will last. Arslan has played great as of yet but I think he will be the weakest link. I am looking forward seeing Turkey play against strong defense (Slovenia comes to mind :)). But in the end of the day I wouldn't mind Turkey going all the way, playing like this. You can really see that Tanjevic has done his job properly.

I couldn't aggree more with you man nuhh and for gasols face was in pain all the time crying, what a shame fro players playing in NBA at a very high level.

Rubio is a starter in DKV Juventut, and he has to face every weekend very good players in the acb league, i really dont think its a problem of Ricky, its the WHOLE team´s problem, there´s no real balance in this team, with a simple pick and roll today all the turkish big guys looked like NBA all stars.

ataman5, i havent played "basketball" i play basketball :) I truly think it was a foul but any referee in this world would dare to call it in such a situation, i think that´s what you meant :)
Anyway, the referees were unfair with Pau today, i know he´s whiney but gosh, turkish centers just beated him up, anyway, i think that Turkey was a fair winner :)

Cheers guys

1- Spain played its best ball today so far in this tournament . But not enough
2- We made so many stupid mistakes but somehow managed to win..
3- We have no patience on Offense...
4- I hope that was the last meeting against Espana in this tournament, because i dont think Spain will loose second time if we draw again..
5- No one can stop Spain if Gasol, Navarro and Fernandez concentrate on winning
6- Congratulations 12 Giant men:)

If we Lithuania beat Slovenia(I hope They can), we may guarantee 1 st place in group. Beating Serbia is sufficent to be 1 in group.

I want to attend a point too. We may meet Spain again if Spain beat Greece in semi-final(%70 They can). This could be bad for us. We win, I am hapy but losing might be adantage for us in this game because Spain would play very ambitiously if they meet with us again.

Spain hadn't too much problems with Turkoglu. Ilyasova was the key player. Nobody in Spain can guard him. Turkey is having a dream performance so far...

Oh ok. Thanks for the info. What kind of injury is that? Would he be better in the next few days?

He has problems on his knees a little bit bad, as everyone has seen, there was a possesion in the last minutes HEDO was drving the lane then decided to pass to Ilyasova who couldn't get the ball remember. It was way open for Hedo but he didn't want to jump at all. Hopefully he'll get better in days to come.
