Elias Mutran has been known for quite a while now that he's a Lebanese playing in Greece.
"Malek" pointed out his name in the "Lebanese Players Abroad" thread (2nd page) more than 2 years ago but back then our federation wasn't as active as it is now concerning bringing all these players from abroad.

http://forums.interbasket.net/f68/lebanese-players-abroad-6486/p2.html

Mutran may be a good player but he played most of his career in Division 2 in Greece. And he last played in the 2008-2009 season as shown in link below

http://www.eurobasket.com/team.asp?Cntry=GREECE&Team=8291&Year=2008-2009

As for the Sporting Athens team I can't even find the name of the team and in which division it is right now.

Also where was he playing last year since there is no info on him for the 2009-2010 season.

It is not Smart Gilas, it is just some Philippinos players that are residents in UAE.

Sharka, Sharqa, Sharjah (you name it :))

OT: You will always be seeing Philipinos playing bball here in the UAE at any court, any time :D They really do love the game and some of them have a very good level.

Hey Khalid80, do you know the lineup of the Qatar NT that played in the recent GCC Cup? I heard 6 six of their players were injured and this may likely be the same situation in the upcoming Asian Games.

I don't have their full lineup but I can confirm that these players were there: (Yassin Ismail, Tanguy Ngombo, Daoud Musa, Soley Ndour, Mohammad Mohammad)

Many of those players should have recovered from their injuries by then and I personally don't think that the team that played in the GCC tournament will be the same as the one in the Asian Games. I believe Qatar will play full force and should have their full squad that played in Stankovic in Beirut.

Anyways there's nothing official yet so it's better to wait and see what develops within the next few weeks.

wow great coaches profiles. I am looking forward to see the level of elias mutran. I am really happy for haouch el oumara. I have never seen a new comer working that hard. It's nice to have a great guy like abdi!

as for rabih iskandar, he is a very average player. Has a strong body but is really weak at basketball.

Its great to see Elias Mutran finally suiting up for a local team , im not saying hes good or even average cz i dont really know him but at least he could make a little difference with a small team like Haouch El Oumara!!

Im really happy to see many teams working with huge excitement for the season , locally most of the teams are good but im worried about the level of the foreign players which so far hasnt really convinced me!

About Rabih Iskandar, he should work on himself, he is a big guy, we need such players in our NT.

Good luck for Champville in this tournament
