Darryl Watkins is very overrated, i said it once and i'll say it again,he's the same Cj jiles kinda player, flashy and powerful dunks but cant create his own plays and isint that good of a shooter, i honestly believe that Larry Cox is better than him:p i mean the guy is sure not explosive as he is,but he's very efficient on court and has a very good FG% and is a very good at block shotting.
the biggest mistake this federation might do is naturalise watkins for the Nt,i'd rather have Cox on the roster than him:p

well said,i don't know how did this player take the attention of the lebanese fans and the federation.he's not impressive neither on offense nor on defense.so,why to bother ourselves inorder to buy a burned card which non of the others wish to get.
i think we should keep vroman until a real replacement can be found and i insist on the statement real replacement.
by the way after i saw his offensive fouls commited by overusing his huge musculature,i think it's better to name him barrel watkins.

i dont honestly think we'll find a suitable replacement for Vroman, the way he played in the WC and imposed himself in front of international centers leaves no doubt in my mind that this is the guy we need and we can count on.
i'm not against replacing him,but only if the potential replacement is a player of his caliber and as valuable as he is to the NT,otherwise then i think the wisest thing to do is to keep him, bcs he certainly is a winnning card.
he's a very good rebounder, assister and stealer and is also not bad on the block shotting end, and he's certainly a scorer, and plus in modern basketball there is no such thing as a pure 5, look at the US dream team for example.

man do you consider lebanon like america ??? come on ...in their roster there were a pure 5 with 2.18 m waiting on the bench to replace anyone on the court ... a tall player is realy in a need .. do you consider that daniel faris with his 2.06 m can block jianlian or wang zhizhi ... i think coach tab knows realy what to do in this case ...

it's not about height,as much as it is about skills and experience,to be a good rebounding team you gotta have a system, each player must know his role and know how to move around the court,i think we only need a gd system, a gd coach can make due with what he has,and i think that baldwin will know how to work a gd system.
plus, you cant have that logic that the taller the better,a 212 cm center is certainly better than a 211 center:p Vroman is not short, and yet he blocked marc gasol who is quite tall. I dont agree with the logic that dictates: let's pick watkins over vroman bcs watkins is 3 cm taller than vroman:p
look at vroman in his chinese team,he's playing the 5 there and they're doing great, his team is 2nd in the league, and he's facing great center like peter ramos, wang zhizhi,Harris... and if i remmeber right he was leading the CBA in block shots:rolleyes:
that goes to show that it's not all about height, but about system and knowing your role,Brian gorjian is coaching him and he's making very good work of him, i think that Tab can know how to use vroman as well to the fullest extent.

Lebanese phoenix: i couldn't agree with you more , it's not about hight at all, i know it matters but hight alone is not enough i mean having a 220 average player is not better then having a 205 skilled one for example who can remember the argentinian team in 2004 olympics (scola, oberto, etc..) non of them was above 208 , lebanese fans need to be updated it's not 1995 any more basketball is beyond that nowadays.

great game by charles tabet, this kid is showing a great level lately,he's a very good player and i said it since the 1st game he played against moutahhed, that game he came off the bench and did a great job.
too bad he wasent givin the proper playin time he really deserves until now, i think that he's much better than roy samaha, that guy is growing old and fat,and if anibal want to compete next year,i suggest they keep tabet and akl, and find themselves some super foreigners and a gd local player.
I think tabet will be competing this year on a spot in the NT along with ali kanaan, fakhreddine and samaha (considering that daniel and billy faris will be in)

man fakherdine and roy smaha should be out for sure ... kanaan is waaaaay better than both and the same for tabet but still kanaan is a bit better offensively

you're right about samaha and fakhredine, although the latter has some amazing footwork, too bad they killed his talent on the riyadi bench.
As for kanaan being better than than tabet offensivly.i beg to differ, the guy is improving offensively lately and has a very good FG%, he doesent take many attempts but he sinks em when he does, unlike kanaan.
i think they'll be both called to the NT:)
i'l discuss about the NT lineup in the other thread.

Terrence Shannon and Alpha Bangoura might leave Anibal , check here for more info!

+ you can read what coach Ghassan Sarkis said abt Zob Ahan game here

shannon leaving:confused:??
i dont think that's a very good idea,he was carrying anibal on his shoulders,if it's a discipline issue, than i think it should be fixed within the limits of the club.they wont find a gd foreigner like him to easily integrate with the team at this point.Btw dani,do you know how long it'll take him to get through his injury?
alfa bangoura,i'm all with changing him,he hasent lived up to expectations at all, daren kelly after seing him in dubai would be a very good replacement.
Would be a smart move to get him replaced:)
