European Competitions 2023/24 - Signings & Rumours

its surreal how much money partizan have, offcourse nothig new, where is zoc there is at least 25+m..
on the other hand, zvezda is doing what zvezda do, returning mediocre home players and collecting 3rd line strangers..
every single season staying without best 4-5 players, and starting from scratch..

teodosic zu zvezda
i was hoping that dusko would selecting players, but not, covic again making his wishes which always are big fails..
if bjelica also come, we could easily switch to eurocup..

Poor red star, teodosic will demand a lot of money "eating" a respectable part of their budget. A signing to avoid.

i dont think players like vildoza, campazzo, petrusev, nedovic, martin were playing for free or even be cheap. partizan may had bigger budget but not that much bigger than red star's. both got help from the goverment for sure. whats also sure is that both clubs are in big trouble every time they have big budgets. partizan almost disappeared after their big budgets in the early 2010's

I don't doubt that for a second. It wasn't my intention to belittle Partizan as an organization or (obviously) Zoc. It's the whole thing about Pao wanting to sign him, Barca wanting to cut the budget, Barca coming with a big proposal, Partizan saying that they can't match offers and will not risk the financial viability of the club for one player, then in a completely unprofessional fashion Barca haven't yet figured out previous financial obligations (Mirotic), then suddenly the most wanted player of the summer goes back to his team.

I know, no worries, I wasn't thinking about that. Partizan might have had some luck regarding Barca's situation with Mirotic. Navarro hasn't been up to task so far.

Partizan had less money CZ.
If we compare, 1-2 postiions CZ Campazo, Vildoza, Nedovic, Ivanovic, Markovic
Partizan Exum, Avramovic, Madar, Punter, Andjusic
It's more expensive CZ players on these positions
We' re going on

3-4 Dobric, Holland, Lazic,Lazarevic, Bentil, Petrusev,
Pappapetrou, Nunnally,Trifunovic,Leday, Vukcevic,

A little bit more expensive our players.

5 Martin, Mitrovic, Kuzmic, Raduljica
Lessortt, Smailagic, Koprivica,
Again their players are more expensive.

If we would calculate, their budget was 11-12 million Euros, our was about 10.
They had deeper roster and more expensive leaders,

I have to talk some sense to Zvezda's fans. You paid over million euros and probably more to a bunch of players that didn't even play this season (Holland, Raduljica, Kuzmić, Ivanović, settlement with Adams)...You had 18 men roster, you paid Campazzo around 1.5 million to play couple of games in Euroleague and ABA league. You missed it with Bentil, Martin...Vildoza certainly didn't play for penauts. When you put it all together you had just as much money as Partizan if not even more. The reason why you failed was bad roster management, not lack of money.

thing is that partizan have guaranteed money from government.
when vildoza and campazzo come to zvezda? after several months when season was start, and mostly coz of taxes in spain..
zvezda started el with amateur coach, with foreign players like martin, bentil, holland which are ec level players in best case..
on the other side, partizan was tabs 2 prime el players on 2 year contract in situation when they were play ec.. they hold complete team and add 3 el starters with 12+ppg from top el clubs last season..

while from zvezda as always, all best 4 players where gone, and beside kalinic all was under quality of partizan players..

so yes, i didnt said that zvezda dont get money, but its about momentum of getting that money..

for 10 years, every time at the end of season, zvezda need to do restart, coz there is no money guarantes..
and as u can see, partizan for 3rd straight season holding complete team, and offering bigger money then barca and pao could do, for best players in el..

This is his level and where he belongs. One of the most overrated player in Europe beside Papapetrou and Calathes.

i was expecting bombs from pao, but so far nothing..
vildoza and lesort are just ok signings, not bombs like panter or exum..
papa is returnig for stronger home core, but papagiannis could leave, so that makes it same..

still not even close to f4 candidate..

I think Real extended Tavares' contract.

i was expecting bombs from pao, but so far nothing..

Teams are not built in 10 minutes, one month or even in one summer. I hope we get decent players without too much overpaying, get to the playoffs and be decent there, and then next summer we can evaluate what's missing, bring in players that can patch our weak spots and make a run for the F4. That's how proper programming works. There is no Lebron James available that will automatically win everything for you. We need some big moves, some smart moves, and some calculated risks. A proper organization plans for the future, not for the next 9 months. Punter is a great player but he is not a player that you'll give him a blank check. The market is pretty sparse at the moment.

Vildoza and Lesort are good signings. Papagiannnis and/or Papapetrou are unfortunately necessities. Luckily we have a decent coach and a GM to know what to look for and DPG is willing to pay more than in the past. I'm more optimistic than previous year. This doesn't mean that I'm convinced we will win everything. It's just that after many years it seems like we're moving ahead with an actual plan.
