Euroleague Top 16, Round 1

It seems to me that Obradovic is staying too long in Panathinaikos. He needs another club, and Panathinaikos needs another coach.

In case of Obradovic and Pao, he is the only one in the world, that can fire the management. ;)

Every now and then this surfaces. And every now and then pao wins the euroleague under obradovic. no, pao needs no other coach nor the opposite applies.

Panathinaikos' stars were just taught a lesson by Dule Vujošević. :D
After all, Dule Vujošević is Želimir's master, don't you forget that...:D

way to go Dule and way to go Partizan..
some of Pao's players will have a bad dream tonight after Vraneš blocked them so many times...

Vraneš and Roberts made them look funny. Just like some other guys, you know who...

GROUP E
Panathinaikos Athens - Partizan Against all odds!
Dum spiro, spero :D
This is the perfect time to quote you, Billy.

This is going to be one of these long sweaty top 16's for PAO, trying to get in shape.

They may not pull through on time.

PAO will be fine, I remember them having some problems in the past seasons as well, eventually advancing through to the playoffs...one has to keep in mind that Euroleague won't let a team like PAO be eliminated and if things will get heated at the latter stages of TOP 16, expect plenty of phantom calls and non-calls

Every team are allowed to have a bad day, and the at the same time Partizan were superb especially on defense. Those writing off PAO based on ONE game need to get their heads checked.

It all comes down to the barca games now IMO. Maroussi BC will be beaten twice by Partizan and by PAO, if PAO can beat Barca twice they will advance, if they only beat them once and Partizan menages to beat them once, which is possible in Belgrade, then it will be a very close and sweaty race like in 2007 imo.

It is nonsense that PAO needs another coach. Obradovic is the best coach in Europe, and there is no need for another coach. At same time Vujosevic is another one great coach, and he won last night. The truth is, the best coaches comes from Serbia (or let's say from Ex Yugoslavia), same as players (especially in time when we were all together - Ex Yugoslavia). Simply, we have the best Basketball school, extraordinary coaches, talents, etc...
About last night game, Partizan deserves this win, but this not necceserilly means that PAO will not qualify for top 8. Somehow, I can see PAO and Partizan in top 8. They will work together to stop Barca. This is my dream, so we will see how things will happen.
Good luck to both teams to qualify to top 8.
Cheers,

since the disaster macca is going to this top 16 trhere's a free place in macca next , so dear obradovic could u be interested?:)

so for pana there's pini free next year!:))

Efes played really great defence in the first half, and mainly because Rakocevic didnt played. I'm gonna say it again but he is done on EL level. he can still score but his defence is beyond awful while he struggles in offence against bigger guys. Especially now when he has to create by himself and not having a great PG like Prigioni. But I still dont understand how Nachbar was benched the entire game....they could be even better with him at SF.
We won this games thanks to our big guys, they work really well together. Simply unstoppable. Its also showing how important Llull is for this team, such a great addition to Prigioni. Good win overall.

I think Efes can surprise if they fix some things and Ataman gives Nachbar a chance.

I am looking into the future and I see it's not happenning:D Ataman is so stubborn to do that. I bet he will also cut Nachbar off the roster for TBL games to occupy some space for Popovic, I hope I am wrong though.

sorry, if it was written before but why rakocevic played only 4 minutes yeasterday?

Why not? PAO was normally eliminated two years ago by Partizan. End of the story. While I believe they will advance without much of troubles. One loss is nothing special. PAO still has the roster of the European dream team. Even Krapikas or Butautas might very well advance to final 4 with such team

BTW, Croatian guys, keep an eye on Žalgiris game tonight. Žalgiris lost all the key players of frontcourt, Mario Delaš will get a lot of minutes. He already showed some nice games in LKL.

Simple: because Ataman never considered the fact that Rakocevic was not the defender type of SG before signing him and now he's upset because Rako is a burden on defense. And instead of trying to adjust things he prefers leaving Rako out. What a great coach with such fantastic vision!!:p

Hello to everyone.
I could post this in a number of threads but chose this one because of its timeliness.
I'm surprised that a lot of people here make comments about Pana's budget
as if they were trying to buy their ways to the top.Of course there is no denial that theirs is one of the biggest budgets in european basketball but i would certainly distinguish their tactics from those of Oly and Real M.
It's not like they are overhauling the roster every season (mind you, that would be the case if it was up to the Giannakopoulos Bros, but coach Obradovic is the number one guy here and he does not operate like this)
Pao has a steady roster for years now and makes few quality additions every season.
These comments would be best suited to what the Pao owners used to do back in the 90's,when they were still chasing Oly.
Anyway Partizan fans may be entitled to such opinions since their players have been popular with Obradovic these last couple of seasons...
BTW congrats for the huge win!

You can be relex. MTA in your group and you have only to win Siena at home more then You lose away, to qualify.

But your team pay for your players millions and millions. IMO the problem is not the number of players, is the number of spent millions
