Euroleague Top 16, Round 1

I really didn't want my first post to be on this subject but god I can't help it coz' I'm too-much-pissed-off. So here's what I think: Ataman has a full spectrum of negative energy and should be banned for the sake of humankind.

I have watched several games of efes this season and what i noticed was the lack of any set offensive plays and i guess this is why the american trio of efes thrives and sees so many minutes as it is based on individual talent. On the other hand this is also why efes has so poor results with such a roster. This is one case where stats say alot: US players with alot of minutes and "good" performances, random outbursts of bigs and benching of rako and nachbar who need set plays in order to play good and of course fluctuating results.

About pao, maybe the problem is that all those injuries have affected the team's cohesion as no solid core of players have found themselves healthy together for a longer period of time. Add to that a rather poor plan in the summer and of course the genius of dule and partizan. Things are difficult now as i expect pao to lose both vs barca and the game in belgrade will be tough too. Oddly enough the second of the group may even advance with 3-3 if barca goes 6-0

Saras is a defensive liability too. haven't seen that preventing his teams from losing though. And i wouldn't start with saras-rako comparisons, i am merely saying that if you teach your team to play defense and run solid and well worked offensive plays, no such player as rako, saras or even nachbar is a liability. Ataman is just not able to take advantage of this roster. Give this roster to Maroussi's coach Bartzokas and you will see the difference (let alone give it to messina, obradovic or dule)

You are wrong. Messina need 3-4 rosters like that to play good :D

Look at this game. Real played shitty, and they already have a roster enough for 3 good teams!
 
efes confirmed wqhat a great rooster they have. really trough it out a match in madrid without nachbar and rakocevic. i think if they'll win over 7 in madrid ,they will be the second in the group.

about parttizan, yes probably if they play against pana 10 times, pana will win 9, but it happens they win beacuse of a main reason: partizan ,as every team of the ex yugoslavia area have talents and teacher. they have no money but have school and theyr own style who is the one dominating europe. partizan or cibona shuold be the example for team like mine maccabi, who have no money but instead of invest on young play and modern coach, still think of mediocre americans as anderson or perkins or wisi and coach who prefer the american showtime like pini.
so, maccabi shuold be more "yougoslavian" style team in mind

felix i'm very agree with u. real can't play so bad wityh a team like that, anyway if i'm ataman i cna't sleep tonight. great efes anyway .they simply suicide themself. hey felix are u ready for a 25 point down tomorrow against siena? i have to say, i am:(

Actually the last 5 games the results are 3:2 for Partizan:D

Unfourtunately, I can't see solution for Efes. The squad is wrong. Nachbar, Rakocevic can't play well in today's basketball. Now, only atletic players can play well in euroleague. One solution is selling Rakocevic and Nachbar immediately and building up our squad again. With this squad, we may reach f8, but really hard f4.
And Refrees always will be against us so we have to make loby! There is no possibility for us to be successful with europan(especially Greek, Spanish, French) refrees. When I see this referees, I know the result before the match.

and about nachbar and rako...i'm not their big fan but they can actualy play on very high level

alyosha i didn't know this statistic of last 5 games, but anyway, all my complement to your basket. i love it , i love your basket style, the one who dominate in europe last 20 ys. all great teams play your basket ,all coaches follow your basket(exept my pini !!).

Congratulations to Partizan, huge game, they took the game where they wanted it (bad, slow basketball, loads of contact) and they won fair and square.

Vranes was actually the deciding factor... :eek:
