Euroleague Regular Season Week 4

Of course I didn't wish a win for Beşiktaş but respect them a lot...
In such hard economic conditions, their president and Erman Kunter doing really respectable job.
With €6M budget, Kunter built a good team.
May be lacks quality but they fight always...

To say the truth €6M is plenty of money to build a strong team. I dont see how its a perimeter to rate magament.
F.e. Zalgiris budget acording to Romanov is 25M LTL(~€7.1M).

anyone watching siena vs chalon's game? i am really wondering what is going on. it seems like fouling party.

Bobby Brown 14/19 free throws

BB is the MVP of the week by free throws..

so does anyone who watched the game notice this?

It looks like they called the 4th foul for Oleson, so the 5th was actually the 4th, system must have got it wrong since Bjelica's body contact looks more harsh but actually Oleson uses his hand there

For now:

i actually feel sad for cedevita and any of the team that gonna be fifth in Group C. such an unfair group. probably all of the Group C teams would easily get to top 16 in group B and D. group A is a bit harder than B and D - but still at least the fifth team of Group C would go through

Olympiacos is a very bad team so is Caja..

These both team cannot be 4th in Top16 groups..

They are not better than Alba Berlin for me..

Cedevita deserved winning butttt

So how did Oly fans find tonight's refs?

The refs were fine. How did you find yours in Turkey?

Some teams like Olympiakos are playing like crap atm but if they get through to top 16 they will start from point zero and anything can happen then.Dont expect teams like Zalgiris,Efes and Maccabi to perform like this until the F4.With an exception of CSKA last year which were amazing until the end all teams have their ups and downs.Top 16 with its new format and the deffinetly crazy future grp E will have many surprises...

Olympiacos unfortunately was really bad tonight... They've got to improve a lot. I was expecting a 20+ game for Oly but I was totally wrong, they could even loose.
CSKA showed some real class against Besiktas, I was expecting a tough match but it was more like a no-match...

6M budget in crisis:eek:

i wish our tems were in such crisis

Besiktas has 200-300M USD debts, in a big financial crisis but still provided €6M budget to basketball although couldn't find a sponsor...
This is respectable...

Well, I was right in saying that it most probably won't be a blowout in the Oly-Cedevita game. With CSKA and Barca allegedly slowly moving back to the right track, it's the team from Piraeus that shows the worst underperforming among top favourites (Milano, Khimki and Caja aren't too far behind but they are reperesentatives of what I like to call 'second-row' favourites). Things need to be fixed soon and we all shall see if their current coach is capable of such an uneasy task. I'm happy that both Russian teams proved me wrong and won their matches with CSKA doing this against solid Besiktas team in a very convincing manner. Btw, I think that Vorontsevich's last second dunk wasn't meant as a way of humiliating opponent (it was much more like Baynes's dunk after the final whistle in Khimki-Olimpija when both guys don't intended it in a bad way) - I met Vorontsevich two times (didn't exchange a word with him by myself though) and he is a nice person, maybe not an intellectual but far from being dumbfuck so typical for many basketball pros.

Fouls were 31-17 in favour of Olympiakos and FTs 27-17 in favour of Olympiakos.

Any comments?

Refs helped Olympiacos yesterday.did you you want to listen that?at our Derby the free throws were 28-13 but you lose.look at your team.you haven't won yet a serious team.only Olympia cantu and rethymno..ha ha

No, Actually no.

The refs gave Olympiakos a couple of home court calls at the end but that's to be expected. Cedevita lost on their own right.

My point is that Olympiakos fans isolate free throws or fouls whenever it's convenient to them to show they are always being treated wrong by the refs against PAO. Fact is the last 10 seasons Olympiakos has shot more FTs than PAO in the games between them. But Olympiakos fans, blindly guided by their management and newspapers have always said the same. And then get rid of their "worthy champions" players.

At least PAO have an excuse which is that this team is completely new (except for 2 players from last season) with alot of new mid level as well as some crappy players on the roster including a new coach... What is your excuse for Olympiakos' sub par performances so far considering that your team almost has the same team that won the Euroleague from least year but with even a better addition in Perperoglou?
And even if you changed your coach this doesn't verify Olympiakos' performances against Cedevita, Zalgiris, and Efes (if the losses against Zalgiris and Efes weren't blowouts I wouldn't have mentioned it since I know they are very good teams).

The problem is that our coach hasn't the experience to handle a big team.
