If I try to understand Federman's moves in Maccabi, it looks like that he wants an Israeli team with 3 or 4 big names around like this:

Big PG with mekel and Sceyer.
Richardson, Burstein.
Eidson, Pnini
BIG PF, Bluti and Kadir
BIG C with Green.

Don't you know why he rejected?
No clue, but I heard this from quite realiable sources.

The Euroleague and NBA title holder Rasho Nesterović seems to be ready to return to Europe. He said in some interview: "It all depends on the offers. I have in mind the financial part and also the organizational part. It depends where they will be offering me the best conditions. The world will not end if I'll go back to Europe. Great basketball is being played in some European clubs and this would mean even a bigger motive for me."

He also has Greek passport, both Greek powerhouses will be losing some of their centers in the summer as it seems. I think he has one more good season in him (as a rotation) despite being 35 years old already. It would make sense for him to sign in PAO or OLY.

Frankly I'm surprised either of them hasn't signed him already. I mean the last 2-3 years.

Why on earth would you spend 2million euros on Vujcic when you could spend it on Nesterovic..unless of course he would've asked for more but i seriously doubt it.

ps. whatever happened to Tsakalidis? did he quit basketball?

He was having 8.4M$ contract in 2008/2009 but last season they both had the chance as at the end he signed a 2M$ deal in Toronto. He wasn't looking for the money as he picked Toronto because he really liked the city (differs from USA, he said many times that he does not like USA and will move back to Europe or even stay in Toronto after end of his career).

A very, very long interview with Rytas GM Vainauskas. Did my best to cut out the bits that are not that interesting whilst translating to English.

http://www.lithuaniabasketball.com/...-about-new-season-and-valanciunas-future.html

“Olympiacos haven’t contacted us with a an official offer for Jonas Valanciunas. but I spoke to Dusan Ivkovic’s agent, who informed me that if Ivkovic was to become Olympiacos head coach, Valanciunas would be his second acquisition after Vassilis Spanoulis. That would be a resonant event in Greek basketball with a player switching sides between the two fiercest rivals. This will be the biggest splash of the summer.

The player’s [Jerry Johnson's] character suits our requirements and coach Anzulovic was quick to convince the American to join the team. Jerry will receive a salary four times smaller than Mirza Begic receives in Zalgiris. Basketball fans can work out, who works better in the player market. It’s still big money for Lietuvos Rytas, but not for Zalgiris.

and much more...

It could work. Definitely.
It depends of course at who is going to be the PG, SG, PF and C.
And I do think Maccabi will try to get Yotam Halperin as well.

By the way, Richardson? What the hack?...

Jeremy Richardson?

well, Jeremy Richardson is a SF, isn't he?
Anyway, He could have written "BIG SG" or something close, but instead he mentioned Richardson's name, who never came up as an option for Maccabi (yet?).

He is a SG trapped in a SF's body(2.01m with big wingspan). Great shooter but too slim to play as a forward. Can play some decent defense on the ball but lacks in muscle.

Blatt likes him though so he might bring him to Maccabi.

This could be an opportunity to sell them Kiki Clark too! Maybe you could even get enough money from them to cover the cost of his electroshock therapy. :D

Jeremy Richardson is a free agent sadly. I liked him. Couldn't create his own shot but had some seriously good shooting touch.

Keydren Clark.. does anyone want Keydren Clark? scoring PG(6th top scorer in the NCAA if I remember correctly).. no court vision but has bulgarian passport :D

Šiška might move to Real. I hope Messina will be kicked out of Real to prove his talent somewhere else, if he'll get such player as Šiška it will be too easy (again)...

I just heard the interview with Sport5, Blatt said that the official statement will be issued by Maccabi. Certainly looks like the things are about to be closed, and agreed. Let's wait a little longer.

Well, the choices are obvious. Only a few clubs can offer that kind of money, so I guess, we'll see some kind of musical chairs game between Real, PAO, and Olympiakos. :D

Yup... If MTA would wait few days, maybe Messina and Obradovic could sign... :D

Arvydas Macijauskas officially retired. He has some serious back problems.
