We can give them Tepic;)

I'm sure he can be better in Maccabi...

The problem is that I don't see how they keep Pargo. You Pao fans take it for granted that if you have a good team that just need a few fixes, you can leave the players you have and just make the fixes, but it isn't so for Maccabi.

always thought Sofo is a bigger problem to maccabi than their opponents......its just that u can never count on him!
he's unpredictable, if a team manages to frustrate him at the start, and there are many ways to do it- he's becoming not just uneffective offensively, but he destroys maccabi's game with huge holes in defense and silly fouls...
and anyway he's a player for maximum 15 minutes a-game, while maccabi dont have another dominant guys around - which we could see how crucial it is, not in easy 30-dificit games, but actually Maccabi's toughest 2 opponents (Barca, PAO) this year had a strong inside game with depth........and Maccabi lost all the 3 games against them!
i dont know how talented Macvan really is.. but he looks to me like a hugh problem to maccabi...... he's soft, not athletic, not rebounding, and not confident...... the scoring might come in 1 or 2 years, but even then im not sure if its enough.
hendrix is a fighter, but another limited player, and just like Macvan, they'll be destroyed if u put big guys like N'dong or Maric against them.

pargo will leave, me think. many richer teams might look for a pg this summer.. olympiakos, cska, barcelona, real madrid etc.. they can offer him twice the money maccabi would.

eidson had a great final four, but to me he still doesnt look like the 1.5m$ player he's gonna be in the summer. he didnt have enough games like these two ff games, and used to disappear for long periods of the season...

i'd recommend maccabi to try put their hand on Kosta Perovic or Aleks Maric, who both arent getting enough chances in their teams.... as leading players in maccabi they can rise again...

PAO needs one player at guards.A leader lets say
nothing more

Aleks Maric sayed he difinetely gonna stay in PAO
Sofo will be great player to a team that has another good tall Center which will cover him or bench him.He cant make it all by himself. With a true tall strong post player he will have the luxury to rest and not afraid that if he makes a mistake his team will fail.
Eidson is by far their best player.A real bargain. And even if his 31 he definetely is an 1.5m player with the jobs that he is doing on the court.
Perovic is indeed a nice addition to MTA.Logic cost and much playing time to pay some day eventually.
Macvan and Hendrix are lets say limited solutions.Macvan cause of his inexperience. His height and quickeness prohibit him to play in a quality team.Furthermore he is stupid to have 2same building players as him and sofo sharing center position.Maybe in the future he will be more useful or change his playing style but not now.The american is a limited player in every aspect for a team like MTA.And short for his position.
Elliyahu is maybe the fastest PF of EL but he is better as the bench sub of the starter PF.He never shoots. He doesnt have it.Look his overall number in EL.PAO knew it for example and gave him shoots. So in my eyes is very predictable and easily played. Not even mention that most of the times drives from the right side.MTA must go for another starter as PF.Lavrinovic?Perhaps.

Blu and Phini are great shooter. On the other hand Blu is old.He can shoot with high numbers.A good sub BUT his height prohibit him to play against big teams.PAO,Barca know that and post him every time. His is not as strong as his opponents on the same position neither young and hasnt athlete abitilities. So eventually will fail.Phini is a deadly shooter. But cannot drive inside. So he is one side player. But he will be good sub for a good wing player.Plus he is from israel which always helps if you ask me.
Keeping Pargo or adding someone that can help on 5to5 than him, keeping Perkins even if noone knows his condition next year after such serious injury and adding another quality guard with good shooting and creativity will help a lot.
Burnstein can be the 10-12 player of the roster cause of experience and cause he is Israel.the other out of the door.
In order MTA be able to go to a higher level must focus not only on the transition game, which ofcourse took them in the final but its not enough, but also to develop their game on 5 to 5 which is essential at the big stage.Add much more height. This is the main reason that lost the game.
I dont have statistics in front of me but i am sure PAO scored at least 70% or more with huge numbers from inside without much effort.
anyway some quality additions and you will be fine.and throw away few garbage

Congrats to Maccabi! Nice attemp to come back during the last minutes of the game!
Proud to be a PAO fan! Even if the team didn't play well at the beginning of the season, the players managed to perform better at the knock-out games and finally become EL champions once again!!!

Congratulations 2 Panathinaikos. They weren't the best team throughout the season, but they were the best from the quarter-finals and on. Maccabi made a good effort but it wasn't enough. If they had Perkins, things could have been different.
The person 2 credit 4 PAO's success is Obradovic. He took the risk of not replacing the guards that left and the risk paid off with the upgrade of Calathes in the crucial matches. He would b the one 2 blame in case of a failure, but now it's his success.
Panathinaikos was the favorite among these teams(and taking into consideration the absence of Perkins) and proved 2 b the best team between the ones that participated in the F4. They rightfully won the trophy and nobody can take anything away from them right now.
I hope this won't b the case in a few weeks from now in domestic competitions, but I'm not that optimistic. Anyway, PAO fans prepare 4 a top16 elimination next year and another EL win in 2013...:p

Congrats to the team!Deserved champions and true fighters. All these years the team had so much talent that we didn't see such fighting spirit as this year. Really proud of them!
The best thing is that the team has great future. This year is like 2003-4 that pao was rebuilt and gambled on new young players (Lakovic, Batiste etc). Only this time managed to take the EL title right away.

RESPECT to Maccabi! This team is a EL elite team in all levels...History, fans, titles! F4 without them misses smth. I hope next year we'll meet you again in the F4 and Perkins would be playing as well..with the green shirt though:D

Good game...even though Maccabi lost.

Anywho, congrats to Panathinaikos and Maccabeo (who had to wait a whole season to finally see Maccabi go down:p).

Thanks for the link, Rik!

I have to admit one thing... My prediction sucked!
None of the teams I cheered for (abstractly) went through finals and it's fucking boring how Euroleague got so predictable every year... I just wanted to see someone else wining it, beside CSKA, PAO, Maccabi...

Anyway, Diamantidis proved that he's the best European player and I'm really happy that he won it, for the third time, BRAVO!

And finally big, big congrats to PAO's basketball department and Želimir (he must be practicing some voodoo shit, 'cause what he's doing is ridiculous), it's been a great year for their fans!

Now, I'm gonna download the game and watch it in peace... Knowing that Tepić sucked again...

He never want to see Maccabi go down. He just said that Maccabi roster significantly weaker than the roster of top teams in the Euroleague.

The game against PAO proven that Maccabi can't face the top teams in Europe if they have a good coach. Even though it was just 8 points difference in the end of the game, all game long we saw an organized PAO that playing against hopeless team that stays in the game by great night from 3 point line and some crazy shots by their guards.

In Maccabi roster we had Pargo which will be a great star in the future, Eidson which may be one of the best roll players in Europe but he isn't a leader, Sofo which is great against Euroleague crappy coaches but may be a disadvantage against well coached teams.

Despite them, we didn't have any top level player, while teams like Barca / PAO / Olympiacos have 9-10 great players... this is what Maccabeo say all way long.

i dont agree that it is a mirecale mta reached the final , because we played great the all season .
it is a miracle that a roster built on gambling on unexpirianced player manged to do so well .
mta won the jackpot this year with all the players and is somthin realy rare but it happand to us 11 yrs ago and it did this season .

if mta could keep this roster and had 2-3 players it can go all the way next season .
we need 2 more gurds and 1 more center and if we chose the right players it will be enough .

before this season started i olso thought blatt is takeing a big gamble with this roster and i olso considerd it as a midiocre roster but after just a few games i understood that blatt as made a great job building the future of maccabi and he new exactly what he is doing .

I don't consider this season as a miracle, I consider this season as a great job of coach Blatt.

Every game Maccabi played on her advantage while her opponents just were not prepared. Just think about the simple fact the Maccabi's opening front court is Sofo and Lior, Both of them should be a defensive nightmare, but our opponents just didn't play on them and Maccabi was able to hide them.

I'm sure that against Bnei-HaSharon (Well coached team) we will see an opponent that came prepare, and Maccabi will be forced to think and use their clear talent advantage.

Ok...except for the fact he had Maccabi basically losing every week in the EL. Way before the playoffs.

Seemed quite smitten about it.:D
