EL 2024-25 Round 5

We are at the end of 2024. and Asvel plays with the lineup of 37 years old De Colo - Edwin Jackson(!!!!!!!!!!), 36 years old Lighty - 76 years old Kahudi - Neal Sako (!) and somehow they are almost tied with Barca in Barcelona while Satoransky made 2/2 3pt shots in the last 5 minutes!!! I have seen enough.
 
Baldwin lost the game for us with stupid turnovers, but still we are better compared to last semi when wilbeclown destroyed us with 1/10 shooting and 5 turnowers.. That's the main difference.

I still don't know what to expect from this new guy, doesn't looks like game changer. But if he can contribute at least like Hall we should win this kind of games,

You lost because Pierre didn't play and Colson was the worst player on the court.

I never comment refs, but I agree with you, this time it was so biased considering it was our homecourt. In OAKA it would be normal and expected

Yes we lost with only 5, with Pierre it would be double digits

Your poor basketball knowledge didn't notice poor performance from Hayes Davis, much worse then Colson

I actually agree. Hayes was trash also but Colson had mistake by mistake when it mattered the most.

Best proof of Greek - Croatian blood. In both countries only win matters and when your team lose then everyone is the coach!!!
 
What's the point for Oly to have Peters? Last season he averaged 13 pts and was team's offensive leader. But now Vezenkov returned and Peters again only substitutes him. He could be among leaders in other team.

Peters is useless for 10-12 mins. Better to have held onto Petrousev who can play defense and has a good pre-history in PAO-Oly games punished both Mitoglou and Juancho. One less headache for us. Last year in two games which were 15-18 point blowouts for PAO, Petrousev was the one that made them into one possession game with Oly's small ball with Petrousev at C.

We beat Fener because we hustled harder. We blocked 3 shots on the dunk/layup on the. 2 of them on the fast break. We stole balls and dived on the court. These things count big when you add the all up. We were the best team for 33 mins. We were rubbish offesively from 30-37 mins mins but showed a clear head (esp. Sloukas) and took the deserving W. Credit to Fener because they played good D and scrapped in the 4th but we scrapped too winning possession from challenged balls. Massive win which negates the loss in Paris. Fener in Turkey is usually marked as a potential loss. Not many teams will beat Fener on their court.
 
Great win in SEF. When Nunn and Brown have game like this then no one can beat us. Very easy win with Sloukas having below the average game, Osman not very good, Lessort in fouls trouble. And no Papapetrou. Btw, Bartzokas has no idea what he is doing with his rotations. It's actually funny to watch how he puts on the bench hot player for the whole quarter. But the biggest mystery is why Walkup still plays for Oly. He is by far the most overrated player in that team. What Nunn did today to him was inhumane and in the offense Walkup is player less. Also Oly has to play slow and giving the ball in the post. With Fall they were good, then for some reason Bartozaks benched him till the end. And at the end when they gave ball to Wright under the basket they again looked good. They are not team to shoot 30+ 3s per game with Walkup, centers that don't shoot, McKissic, Papanikolau...I also feel sorry for Peters. He had incredible season and now he plays 5 minutes per game. As I said at the beginning of the season...too many players. They literally have 3 very good lineups.
 
Mitoglou sent both Fall and Miloutinov to the bench for the remainder of the game when he buried two 3-pointers playing the 5 position. He streteched the floor pulling them both out of the paint. This is where he should focus for his career. There will no longer be any Petrousev that will give us headaches as he would play well against us.

Such an easy win. We lost the +16 at the end due to tiredness because of the man rotation.

Lessort is lucky he didnt swallow his tounge or loss some teeth with this charge from Fall. After this, they charged Lessort with another non-existant foul and topped it off with a T for complaining leaving him stranded on 4 fouls at 23 minute mark. Ataman being the great General with a cool head didn't panic. Mitoglou did the business. Many cool heads yesterday apart from Osman who was trying too hard and not reading the game properly. He was the only sore point for PAO.
 
As we have said multiple times before PANATHINAIKOS has by far the best backcourt on the league with the best player of it + 2 of the best 5 as well. if we look for the best 5 guards in the league, then nunn,sloukas and brown are all included. and grant is also very good and always positive. imagine next year when micic will be added as well.

on the other hand loesrbiakos has the most overrated player in the league, thomas brickup, a wrestler that cant do much apart from handchecking based on the fact that refs wont give all the fouls he does. the others are vildoza (5th guard on PANATHINAIKOS), goss (most time injured), dorsey (one good match then 4 matches invisible) and lets say fournier as a guard who is not even 20% of what he was, so he is just an ok euroleague player, not even close to top10 (and that wont change cause his drop is phenomenal the past 2 years and not because of how he was used by tom thibodeau. he was trash in pistons as well after leaving from knicks). they expect evans to return like a messiah. a player with 2 serious and rare injury (the one he has now), coming back at febrauary after 8 months out of the court and never been on an at least playoff team. but they think they have the best and most full squad in the league cause they have 2 big centers, who are always trash when it matters and are also injury prone.


next week after 3 more loses (2 against the spanish this week and one more against PANATHINAIKOS at OAKA) bartzokas will once more look how to save himself from the rampaging loserbiakos fans in the parking at our second home, SEF
