PLz don't compare Iran to China. In our matchup against Iran, I vote for Lebanon. I expect Lebanon to win. They r not better than us.

But CHINA, they r just great. With Jian Lian, Wang zhizhi, Sun YUE, Wang Shipeng and Liu Wei, HUUHUH!!! we hhave a 5% chance to beat China. Don't treat me as a pessimistic. Jian is much better that Vroman, wang Zhhizhi is better than Matt, Sun Yue is way better than Fadi, he is a laKERS PLAYER, and there bench is terrible. Don't expect to beat China, but at least keep faith and hope, maybe we can hhave a close game in the final!!

I am not comparing these two teams, but I am saying these are our two main matches to the championship you have to win both of them to win it all or at least one of them no one knows anyway Sun Yue is a Laker player but had most of his season in the D-league, he has a great jump and he is tall for a PG and can have a miss-match on Ali Mahmoud if he played the 1 but I doubt he would. You cannot compare player to player if so France would beaten Lebanon by 50 pts in world cup 2006 but it didn't

In 2005 Yi's official age is 18(true age may be 21).

And guys,believe it or not:

1)I don't think Lebanon has much chance when against China,maybe less than 15%.

2)I am not worrying about the Chinese players's pressures,on the contray,they are too relaxed and may look down upon opponents in some exent----espeicially the younger ones.


For those 2 lebanese forumers who came to this "China 2009" thread saying that Lebanon will definitely beat China this time,hope you don't eat your words serveral days later.

You have not seen Matt playing more than 1 game so far ... his participation in that 1 game cannot be taken into consideration, because it might have been one of his lower-level games, or it could have been one of his best.

So, I do not agree that Zhizhi is better than Matt (it might be, and it might be not).

Sun Yue is not better than Fady ... bcz all the past days we've seen fady hold the NT over his shoulders alone, while Yue had great players to help him out... today Fady is being helped by at least 3 good players on court ... we will see a NEW FADY in the upcoming championship.

Jian/vroman .... jian is better than vroman in a way .... yet vroman is better than jian in another ....

i believe that China/Lebanon both have great players, and whoever wins over the other is no longer a matter of players .... it's the coach plays that will win.

let's wait and see ... Lebanon will meet China in the 2nd round for sure .... both teams might not be giving their utmost that day, but it will be a very important test for both.

SO dont be sure from winnig the match against our NT ,we have Now Vroman who will kick Ji yanlin ASSES and dont forget KHATIB OUR TIGER ,and matt and foreingns with lebanese stars like fahed abdel nour and mahmoud !!!!
in 2005 when we play without these stars ,we play only in khatib and vogel !!! and it was a very difficult game on your coach!!! who says if i play without yao ,i lLOST this GAME ,so dont be sure and considering to win an easy game against us !!!,From ur posts you transefered china UNBEATABLE !!! let s wait to 6 august and we will see out NT performance when kahtib will kick some asses in this champ !!!

From what I saw in Jones Cup your NT did not better the NT in 2007 with VORGEL.

As a role player,Zhu Fangyu is stronger and a better defender.For example,In China only Yao is superstar.even Yi and Wang were only role players.Fadi is offensively much better than Zhu,but in a team like China,He can't shoot freely like in Lebanon.

As for losing to Iran with Hadadi ... i mean r u kidding?
1- we're playing in a preparation tourney
2- we had a totally new player who knows nothing about the system, Matt arrived to taiwan maybe 12 hours before the game started.
3- the game wasn't without hadadi .... hadadi was there and he played, and he went into a foul trouble .... DUH, couldn't you see that? if you count foul trouble as playing without him .... then we played without Vroman and Abdelnour as well
4- Daniel and Brian were missing ... so if Iran played without Hadadi, we played with 2 missing stars and a new star that knows nothing about the coach systems. wait and see Lebanon vs. Iran in the asian championship, then give me your opinion.

To all the Chinese posters,

I think that it is OK to face facts now, that in this 2009 FIBA-ASIA Championship that Iran, Lebanon, and perhaps even Jordan, etc., may have a very good chance at beating China and winning this championship. After all, their teams are much improved, and China may lose this one. You can never assume either way, every Chinese National Team fan who is watching this championship knows that with many other nation's teams being much improved in this championship, it is useless and fruitless to assume who will win beforehand either way.

But, I will say that if all of the other teams, especially, Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar, and the Philippines, etc., were forced to play a basketball team that was BORN AND RAISED in Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar, and the Philippines, etc., instead of putting on their national basketball team players who are allowed to be imported due to past ancestry and also naturalized players, then the Chinese National Team would have a much easier time beating them, regardless of who actually wins this 2009 FIBA-ASIA Championships or not.
