I wasn't sure should I make this thread, but why not, when so many other teams have their own thread.

First there is one bad news(or actually three of them): Teletović, Nurkić and Đedović, three best basketball players of BiH will not play on Eurobasket:

- Teletović said that Phoenix Suns are not happy with him playing on Eurobasket after his health problems in last season

- Nurkić long time ago said he will not play for national team because of his differences with the key officals of the basketball Association(caused mainly because of his unacceptable behavior), and he had knee surgery recently anyway

- Đedović took German citizenship and because of that he gave up Bosnian citizenship(you can’t have both) and right now dude doesn’t have a legal right to play for Bosnia. And don’t force me to tell what I really think about his move.

In the absence of the Teletović every decent power forward is welcomed in our team, both of Sulejmanović (1995, Barcelona) and Karahodžić (1996, Unicaja Malaga) would be considered as serious candidates for final 12, but because of reasons I wrote in some previous posts hypocritical FIBA doesn’t allow them to play for BiH untill they turn 21:mad:

Nedim Buza, best player of Bosnian U20 national team now have a really good chance to end in final 12 players for Eurobasket.

Edin Atić, best player of Bosnian U18 national team is in this situation also a serious candidate for a final 12, but he was injured yesterday in the last game on U18 European Championship and now even he is a questionable.

Even Džanan Musa, best player of U16 national team was an option to play for senior national team in this situation, actually it will not happen only because of timing of the U16 European Championship, too close to Eurobasket. And he just turned 16 and never played senior match in a life, maybe it’s a best demonstration how desperate we are.

American Alex Renfroe supposedly should play for our national team on Eurobasket, but till now there is no a single information that he is on preperations, and who knows will he even appear.

Some players were joined to preparations for Eurobasket in the last moment, such as Edin Bavčić (who retired from a national team couple of years ago, and he was on the bench for the most of the time even at his prime), Emir Zimić (he is 29 years old and now he have a opportunity for a debute in national team), Adi Zahiragić (PG of Bosnian U20 national team which was relagated from division A, and his 7/41 for 3 and 2.4 TO per game are one of reasons why).

We are screwed badly.

As much as I know those are players right now in the training camp:

PG – Nemanja Gordić, Muhamed Pašalić, Adi Zahiragić

SG – Marko Šutalo, Adin Vrabac, Marko Jošilo

SF – Nedim Buza, Dalibor Peršić, Milan Milošević

PF- Miroslav Todić, Stefan Glogovac, Edin Bavčić

C – Elmedin Kikanović, Andrija Stipanović, Draško Albijanić, Emir Zimić

For the end, one verse from an old song that perfectly fits for our situation:
Yes it's gonna be a cold lonely summer

I'm not gonna under estimate your team but I honestly haven't even heard any of those players but Gordić and Kikanović. But you probably have one American any way and because of bball traditions of ex-yu I don't think we could just cruise over you. You had great success in U18 so you should put your things together, future is on your side.

Players who went in Croatia where they will play two games against Georgia(August 6 and 7), and against Croatia(August 8):

PG – Alex Renfroe, Nemanja Gordić, Muhamed Pašalić

SG – Marko Šutalo, Adin Vrabac, Marko Jošilo

SF – Nedim Buza, Dalibor Peršić, Milan Milošević

PF- Miroslav Todić, Edin Bavčić

C – Elmedin Kikanović, Andrija Stipanović, Draško Albijanić, Emir Zimić

Zahiragić isn't needed anymore, he was there just as a help beause they didn't had enough PG's on trainings untill Renfroe finally came.

Glogovac stayed in Sarajevo to work individually, but he will join to team again after they come back.

Edin Atić, member of the all tournament team of Fiba U18 European Championship in Volos, will not join to senior national team because of injury(last game of the U18 tournament against Lithuania). In this situation with so many players missing, he would have important role in the senior team on Eurobasket.

What are the chances of Djedović obtaining the Bosnian passport somehow and showing up? (seen he is thinking in that direction somewhere on twitter)
What happened with him in this case is just f.up situation to say the least :(

That traitor isn't worth of mentioning anymore.

We lost against Turkey, but at least 1995 born Buza show some skills

Džanan Musa, MVP of the U16 European Championship which ended yesterday, as a reward for what he did in Kaunas got a invitation to immediately join senior national team preperations.

In the end, Musa will not play for senior national team.

Yesterday:

Russia - BiH 82 : 52 (Kikanović 14 points, 7 rebounds)

Today:

Greece - BiH 83 : 44 (Kikanović 16 points, 7 rebounds)

Omg, i understand loosing vs Greece but not in 40 points and: vs Russia on 30 points?
Looks like a Bosnian basketball is in decline, even i didn't watched the games so have no right to judge.

Bosnian basketball is actually rising, problem is that our three by far best players are missing as I wrote in the first post.

Just imagine frontcourt C Nurkić/ PF Teletović, easily one of the best frontcourts in the Eurobasket.

There are 14 players left:

Point Guard

Alex Renfroe, 29 years, 188 cm, Bayern Munchen(Germany)

Nemanja Gordić, 27 years, 192 cm, Cedevita(Croatia)

Muhamed Pašalić, 28 years, 190 cm, Cluj - Napoca(Romania)

Shooting Guard

Marko Šutalo, 32 years, 194 cm, Dinamo Bucuresti(Romania)

Adin Vrabac, 21 years, 201 cm, Free agent

Marko Jošilo, 23 years, 200 cm, Metalac(Serbia)

Small Forwards

Milan Milošević, 30 years, 202 cm, AEK(Greece)

Nedim Buza, 20 years, 201 cm, Oostende(Belgium)

Dalibor Peršić, 30 years, 196 cm, Timisoara(Romania)

Power Forwards

Miroslav Todić, 30 years, 204 cm, Tofas(Turkey)

Edin Bavčić, 31 years, 206 cm, Prishtina(Kosovo)

Center

Andrija Stipanović, 29 years, 208 cm, Trabzonspor(Turkey)

Elmedin Kikanović, 27 years, 210 cm, Alba(Germany)

Draško Albijanić, 29 years, 209 cm, Kozuv(Macedonia)

Well Džanan Musa is definitely your future star. I watched the u16 final, and sadly we lost definitely against a stronger opponent.

It was a good game, especially for a U16 level:) Credits for both teams.

As for Musa, and I will add Sikiraš too, they are very talented 16 years old kids, but let's wait for a couple of years more to see will they devolp into good professional players.

I probably missed Sikirias performance, BUT Musa what a great play was by him. I think most of basketball fans support own teams just i enjoyed and couldn't believe how 16 year old player plays like a Super star already. Lithuanians lost for stronger team in final and Musa was half of it. I try to follow his career from now on more, cos i think "and hope" great European basketball star is rising up.

Croatia - BiH 97 : 79

Kikanović 17 points, once again he is the top scorer of our team

He was always part of the national team but kinda in the shadow, now with so many player missing he is the leader for this Eurobasket.

He is a decent player, contract with Alba confirms it. After all, he is a 210 cm tall guy with great technique and seems like he can't miss mid - range shots when he is open. But I was never a huge fan, for a guy of his height he is a terrible rim protector, every time he grabs a rebound I'm note sure am I dreaming or it's really happening.

I belive this will be final roster:

PG – Alex Renfroe, Muhamed Pašalić
PG/SG – Nemanja Gordić
SG – Marko Šutalo
SG/SF – Dalibor Peršić, Adin Vrabac, Nedim Buza
SF/PF – Milan Milošević
PF – Miroslav Todić
PF/C – Elmedin Kikanović, Draško Albijanić
C – Andrija Stipanović

Bosnia and Herzegovina final 12 :

PG - Alex Renfroe (29 years, 188 cm, Bayern Munchen - Germany), Muhamed Pašalić (28 years, 190 cm, Cluj Napoca - Romania)

PG/SG - Nemanja Gordić (27 years, 192 cm, Cedevita - Croatia)

SG - Marko Šutalo (32 years, 194 cm, Dinamo Bucuresti - Romania)

SF/PF - Milan Milošević ( 30 years, 202 cm, AEK - Greece)

PF - Miroslav Todić (30 years, 204 cm, Tofas - Turkey), Edin Bavčić (31 years, 206 cm, Prishtina - Kosovo)

PF/C - Elmedin Kikanović (27 years, 210 cm, Alba - Germany)

C - Andrija Stipanović (28 years, 208 cm, Trabzanspor - Turkey)

Seems like Todić is injured, and Albijanić will replace him although Todić is in the France with the team and Albijanić isn't:confused: When you think that it can't get worse...

So now we finally have 12 players for a first game against Poland:

PG - Renfroe, Pasalic
PG/SG - Gordic
SG - Sutalo
SG/SF - Persic, Buza, Vrabac
SF/PF - Milosevic
PF - Bavcic
PF/C - Kikanovic, Albijanic
C - Stipanovic

Maybe they are not the most talented team in the tournament, and maybe they are less talented than Bosnian players who are not in the team, but coach Ivanovic said that he can't remember when was the last time when he trained team with players who were hard workers, disciplined and so eager for success as players of this national team.
