It is hard to be competitive when wearing patches of pajama cloth onto your jerseys...

For me Russia´s new Jersey are great.

:D I thought the same.

Rubio gives Spain another strong weapon, hope they keep playing their zone vs the US under Reneses.

Is it sure that Khryapa will miss the Olympics?

It is not sure. But the chances are not that high, that he will be able to play.

Its only preparation game. Calm down people:D

Yes, I remember a year ago russians lost to France by 34 (or smtng like that), and 3 weeks later they got a revenge in quartersfinals.
Maybe Blatt wants to make such thing one more time.

Spain 90 Argentina 88
Thrilling final moments and Argentina came from way back.
PS: Through the Argentinian broadcast one could actually perfectly hear the players and the referees talking! Had never seen anything like that, it was fun :D

Argentina showed some character. And yes, that thing was pretty interesting and strange, it seemed like total chaos in the court, too bad they talked not in enligh :p

These two lock horns again in Ourense on Saturday. We'll see if Argentina can pull off the victory.

BTW: I wonder when was the last non-European team to beat Spain's senior national team at home?

(note: i could only see the last quarter and a half)

To be honest, i think Spain showed to be much better than Argentina today, or more than just 2 points at least. It reminded me of the Japan game, with Spain dominating the inside game, and Argentina scoring an abnormal percentage of threes and rallying in the final 3 minutes. That said, it was the first game for Manu and Delfino, so that's a good sign. At this point in 2006, Argentina was getting whipped by 25:D

From what i saw, i get that Argentina couldn't get the inside game or post up (only two scores, one from Delfino and one from Scola -thanks to a Marc Gasol interference-), neither score from the pick and roll. So the only ways were the outside shot (simply great) and the free throws. Spain did have those extra options, with the Gasol brothers. I read Román González played pretty well, but i must have arrived home too late.

Plus, Argentina used a lot of its Prigioni - Manu/Quinteros - Delfino - Nocioni - Scola lineup. I wonder if having no true center is a real strategy by Hernández, or simply a consequence of Oberto's injury.

Russians lost their second serious preparation game..
games against crippled Latvian team and Ukraine shouldn't be taken into consideration..
today they lost to Serbia 75-74..
I watched a game a little bit (bronze wl volleyball game was on at the same time so I watched that most of the time) and I must say russians looked lost..
nowhere near the team from last year.. yeah they still have two weeks to go but they need to improve fast...
serbians played good enough.. they still have a long way to go but I was kinda surprised with their display 'cause I was sceptical with their choice of NT coach..
Holden scored 20 and Kirilenko 10 for Russia
Erceg 20, Tripkovic 14 and Krstic 13 for Serbia

Spain 103 Hungary 45
Pau Gasol 32 pts + 11 rebs. Németh was the top scorer for the Hungarians with 12 pts.
