5 best leagues in Asia

top 3
cba of china
iranian superleague
lebanese league

and the remaining two will be a close fight between
jordan league
pba of rp
kbl of korea

the disadvantages of pba are 1.) they only allow one import per team
2.) they have a height limit of 6"6.. what about best team in asia with ouut an import??

it's an apples vs. oranges thing with the PBA. almost all the other Asian leagues play a single league-playoff format with having at least 2 imports (no height restrictions) all season. the PBA is more complicated with having 2 league-wildcard-playoff formats each season, allowing only 1 height-restricted import half of the time.

i don't know much about the other leagues, but it seems like they're mostly 2-way horse races (Al-Riyadi and Champville, Mahram and Saba). i won't know about other teams who don't win championships or play tuneup games with PBA teams. i doubt the other Asian basketball fans know about PBA teams because they rarely play abroad.

so, what's the basis of being a better Asian league?

but one of the advantages of the PBA is having an all-filipino conference. It focuses more on developing local players. Other leagues have 2 imports all season long.

lesser local talents have the PBL and Liga Pilipinas.

I think the problem of having an all-filipino conference is that the players are not trained to play their real positions. Some 6'6 guys in our league are forced to play center while 6'3 and 6'4 are force to play power forward.

It's better to have one conference with two imports of unlimited height in order to develop our local players in their rightful positions based on their height.

i definitely agree to this!!! 4 thumbs up. :d

It's time for PBA to bring back the format that the last placers will be having the privilege to have two imports in Fiesta Conference. One is with the height of 6'10'' to 7' plus and other is with the height limit of 6'6''. The top teams will only have one import with the height of 6'10'' to 7' plus.

It's better to have all teams get two imports with unlimited heights. A 7-footer may suffice the 5-position but most teams also lack a PF with the right height. We have a bunch of players who can excel at the 3-position based on their height and we need them to develop.

Given that we have few 6'8-6'10 players, having a real center will help them develop their skills for the 4-position. It's possible that we could be relying on a naturalized center for quite a while.

Remember that an import doesn't have to be a center. An import has to be someone who can fill a position lacking in your team and dominate.

Hopefully the new PBA commish will amend the rules of PBA.

China's national team is going to be a difficult team to defeat

No, that is not necessarily true. While China has won some in the past, Chinese people should be careful to be humble and not to assume that they will win again automatically, or that it is a done deal. Iran in particular has been doing very well lately in international basketball competitions in Asia, and China has not been winning lately, and so Chinese people should make sure that they do not become arrogant, or we will be humiliated and lose face in front of other people and be embarrassed for bragging. At the end of the day, anyone can win, especially if a particular team gets on a roll, even more so in a single elmination tournament like all these international tournaments are, and anything is possible--and for everyone too. Although, people should believe that they can win, I don't think that China winning is a definite conclusion, and we shouldn't assume things.

I think that the Phillipine National Team has a good chance of winning also, and anything is possible for anyone, and so I don't think that it is a done deal that China's National Basketball Team, will win FIBA ASIA; certainly not! Everyone should keep their hopes up, but they should not brag either, or assume before the fact, or even before the competition starts itself. Let the team's actions and results on the court decide before anyone says, or even thinks anything. That keeps the board having less arguments and having more peace and harmony across the message board, and also keeps the message board flowing smoothly. And also, everyone should be merciful on the loser if they win. There is an old saying: "Gracious in victory, gracious in defeat". Remember: everyone hates a sore loser...or even a sore winner.

1. CBA
2. PBA - i think is the best league in terms of developing individual skills
3. Iranian superleague
4. KBL
5. Japan
6. Lebanese league

webuyube dislike :eek::eek:
Lebanese League after KBL and Japan ,man the lebanese league and Iranian League same Level

in Lebanon the competition finish in the final game ,many teams compete on the title

Riyadi for Sure one of the best Teams in Asia
Sagesse with Rony Fahed and Sabah khoury +many lebanese good players
Champville With the tiger Khatib ,Mazen mnemneh +many lebanese good players
Muttahed the best team in locals
Hoops the dark horse usually
Antranik good team with good locals but need to choose corectly the imports
Anibal Zahle creating this year a good team with great coach and great foreigners

7 teams who can compete out of 10 , that s mean the FLB one of the best leagues in ASIA ,you have to watch some vids on youtube for FLB and you will know what i am talking about ...

Stability wise which is the most important thing of all:D

1 PBA
2 KBL
3 CBA issues 2 seasons ago
4 JBL
5 FLB

still think east asian has greater basketball market compare to the middle east even though Basketball is lebanon's no. 1 sport

even if you add Australian NBL pba will beat them because of Stability

JBL,SBL and KBL daddy in basketball league wise is the PBA:D

but thats not the same thing nt wise:D

I dont think stability is everything to measure some league, but yes its important..

for example Greeks league also facing un-stability last season but it still better league in europe than Slovenian or German league

Actually Reamily has a good point but he exaggerrated a little bit , i mean yes the Lebanese League lacks stability but on the competitive side it's one of the strongest in Asia. For an exemple , this year , the league is very very very competitive and maybe the strongest in the history of the Lebanese basketball.

Now , putting the JBL and the PBA in front of the Lebanese and the Iranian leagues is very wrong . San Miguel of the PBA used to participate in the Asian Clubs Championship and they were always getting beaten , PBA is better on the audience side maybe , but technically theres no way to be better than the Lebanese and Iranian leagues.
